Chapter 83 Amshe Oasis

After agreeing on a time with Ades Bay, the leader of the gravediggers, the two parted ways and headed towards their respective destinations.

The gravedigger led his rescued comrades to the oasis, while the Middle-earth team returned along the riverbank to Hamunaptra, the city of the dead.

Along the way, Zheng Zha and the others discussed the trump cards that the Indian team had revealed in the previous battles.

Zheng Zha expressed his incomprehension regarding the enhancements to the Indian team, saying, "Nightcrawler and Colossus from X-Men, along with Werewolf and the unknown muscle enhancer, are clearly dual-bloodline enhancements, so why didn't they experience any enhancement conflicts?"

Based on the abilities displayed by the werewolf Arot and the giant Imani, Zhan Lan speculated, "Is it possible that their enhancements didn't involve the energy cycle, but were merely physical strength?"

Upon hearing this, Qi Teng added, "There's another point: their enhancements, on the surface, don't seem to have any conflicting elements, unlike the vampires and internal energy, one is dead and the other is alive, one is yin and the other is yang—it would be strange if they didn't conflict."

Zheng Zha was confused now and quickly asked, "Wait, I understand what you mean by yin and yang, but what do you mean by dead and alive?"

"The vampires are the same as bloodsuckers. They have different settings in different legends, literary works, and movies, but most people think that vampires are inanimate objects, while internal energy is a kind of life energy. What do you think will happen when the two meet?"

After listening to Qi Tengyi's explanation, Zheng Zha nodded thoughtfully, seemingly understanding the reasoning behind it, but he remained silent. The others didn't know whether he actually understood or not, so they just assumed he did.

Seeing everyone enthusiastically discussing which enhancement combinations were less likely to conflict as they traveled, Ming Yanwei intentionally reminded them, "Um...did we forget someone?"

Upon hearing this, Zheng Zha and the others stopped and checked each other's numbers before asking in unison, "Where's Zhang Jie?!"

Then everyone looked at Ming Yanwei, who had reminded everyone that Zhang Jie was missing.

Ming Yanwei's lips twitched, and she said helplessly, "Don't look at me, how would I know where Zhang Jie was taken by that werewolf using teleportation!"

Upon hearing this, Zheng Zha and the others looked away embarrassedly, but no one suggested going to find Zhang Jie.

In the end, Zheng Zha made the decision: "Forget about Zhang Jie. With his strength, he can't possibly be in danger. Let's go back to Hamunaptra and wait for him."

Everyone agreed, since Zhang Jie's identity had been exposed. They had never worried about him encountering any mishaps, but rather about the enemy angering him. If that happened, and Zhang Jie couldn't help but make a move, the Central Continent Team would lose a large amount of rewards.

When everyone returned to Hamunaptra, the city of the dead, they indeed found Zhang Jie, who had already returned, in the camp. They thought to themselves, "This guy really did come back by himself."

Zhang Jie had a similar thought: "Thank goodness I didn't go looking for those bastards. They actually abandoned me and went straight back to Hamnata."

However, when they met, neither of them mentioned the matter. Instead, they exchanged pleasantries to show their concern.

After several days of arduous travel, Muhammad, Black Tan, and Manavia finally arrived at the location marked on the map.

But as the three of them looked around, all they could see was endless yellow sand. There were no oases or pyramids, only yellow sand.

“Strange, this is the place, but where are the oasis and pyramids the captain mentioned?” Muhammad looked at a map and made sure the three of them were in the right place.

At this moment, the Grim Reaper soldier who had been silently following them suddenly spoke, "Put on the Grim Reaper bracelets and wait for nightfall."

Muhammad and his two companions were startled, but then they recognized their captain's voice. "Captain, is that you?" The Death Soldier who had just spoken didn't respond to their question, leaving Muhammad and his companions looking at each other in bewilderment.

"Um... how about we try them on?" As soon as Manavia spoke, Muhammad handed her the Death Bracelet.

Now that things have come to this, Manavia understands that the two of them are just waiting for her to speak up so they can dump this troublesome matter on her.

But Manavia was self-aware enough to know that if she dared to refuse, the two of them would use force to force her into it.

As Manavia put the Death Bracelet on her wrist, she heard the message from the Supreme God.

[Activate the Death Bracelet, find the Amshe Oasis within seven days, awaken the sleeping Scorpion Emperor, and the reward for completing the mission is a C-rank side quest and 4000 reward points. Failure to complete the mission will result in elimination.]

Upon receiving the message from the main god, Manavia's face turned green. They were now at the location of the Amshe Oasis, but as far as the eye could see, there was not a trace of green, only endless yellow sand. The howling wind seemed to be saying to Manavia, "You're doomed."

Then, Manavia suddenly remembered that the Death Soldier had said to wait until nightfall. And so, Manavia, trembling with fear, waited with Muhammad and Black Charcoal until darkness fell.

As the last ray of sunlight disappeared below the horizon, Manavia blinked and saw a vast, lush oasis suddenly appear before her.

In the center of the oasis, a golden pyramid stands prominently, its massive jewel atop radiating endless light, illuminating the entire oasis as if it were daytime.

Upon seeing the oasis appear, Manavia immediately ran towards it, but was stopped by her teammates after only two steps.

"Manavia, why are you running that way?"

In response to Muhammad's question, Manavia pointed to the oasis not far away and asked in confusion, "The Amsha Oasis is over there, can't you see it?"

"An oasis?" Muhammad looked in the direction Manavia pointed, but all he saw was yellow sand.

“There’s no oasis, I only see sand. What about you, Black Carbon?” “I didn’t see an oasis either.”

When her two teammates said they hadn't seen the oasis, Manavia immediately realized that only those wearing the Death Bracelet could see the Amshe Oasis.

To everyone's surprise, Muhammad immediately reached out and grabbed Manavia's wrist, saying, "The Death Bracelet. That's possible. Take it off and let me try it on."

However, no matter how hard he tried, even though he had injured Manavia, the Death Bracelet remained firmly on Manavia's wrist, without showing any sign of falling off.

Manavia looked at her bleeding wrist, then at Muhammad who was still determined to stop, and couldn't help but shout, "Stop! You've hurt me!"

Muhammad remained unmoved, determined to remove the Death Bracelet. But the next moment, the Death Soldiers who had been following the three suddenly moved, raising their weapons and slashing at Muhammad.

My sister says this is her future.
