Chapter 64 Broken Rain

Chapter 64 Broken Rain (Published in advance, reminder at the end of the chapter)
In front of the sports warehouse, countless raindrops fell on the purple umbrellas, sliding down the arc formed by the umbrella ribs.

During lunch break, Shinkai Shiona would hide in the sports storage room, with only Matsuzaka Kanon by her side; few people knew this.

Chitose Toyama stood in front of the sports warehouse, holding an umbrella, gazing at the closed door, a hint of nostalgia in her eyes.

In April of this year, when Shinkai Shiona first enrolled, she was the vice president of the student council. Because the sports storage room always inexplicably became a mess, she hid there to investigate.

As a result, she encountered Shinkai Shionai, who came to smash things and vent her anger. She was not a lively and cheerful innocent girl at all; she had an extreme side that no one knew about.

Later, the two became good friends. Chitose Toyama pulled her into forming a band, and when she ran for student council president in June, Shionai Shinai spared no effort in helping her campaign.

Because of Shinkai Shiona's unauthorized actions, all the favors that Kuronuma Kiba owed were ruined. Toyama Chitose never complained about her and even reflected on her own problems.

But why?
Last night, Shinkai Shiona promised her that she would choose Kyoto as the location for the training trip and even said she would help her conquer Kuronuma Kiba.

The unexpected betrayal pierced her heart. Chitose Toyama closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and kicked open the door of the sports storage room. The loud crash shattered the raindrops on the eaves.

Chitose Toyama opened her eyes, casually tossed aside her umbrella, and her crystalline purple eyes swept across the dimly lit warehouse like knives.

A cold wind, mixed with raindrops, blew into the sports warehouse from behind her, disrupting the atmosphere.

On the gymnastics mat directly opposite the door, Shinkai Shiona and Matsuzaka Kanon sat side by side, both casting dark glances at each other—one sinister, the other harboring malicious intent.

No one else is welcome here.

"Kanon, I'm looking for Shiona."

"Sister, you should go back first."

Chitose Toyama and Shiona Shinkai spoke almost simultaneously.

Matsuzaka Kanon silently got up from the pile of gymnastics mats, left the sports storage room expressionlessly, and gave Toyama Chitose a meaningful look as she passed by.

The surroundings were filled with the pattering sound of rain, and the air was permeated with the somber feeling unique to this season.

Chitose Toyama walked slowly to Shionai Shinkai, raised her hand high, and asked sharply with a cold face, "Reason?"

"Senior, you should think about me more. Going to Kyoto is very expensive." Shinkai Shionai flashed a bright smile, revealing her white teeth, and replied perfunctorily.

She pointed to the corner of the roof, tilted her head, and said in a nonchalant tone, "I installed a security camera there, huh?"

"I can give you money if you don't have any."

"Well, I didn't want this to happen either. But Kuronuma-kun—"

"enough!"

Chitose Toyama frowned coldly, raised her hand and landed heavily on Shionai Shiona's cheek, then grabbed her neck with both hands and pressed her down on the gymnastics mat.

"Xi Nai, you better behave yourself!"

“But if you achieve your goal, you won’t need me anymore, right? And the band won’t be able to be reformed.” Shinkai Shiona showed no sign of backing down, her eyes filled with a deep blackness, like dark clouds rolling in the sky.

The distant mountain, with its thousand-year-old body, looked down at her, its gaze gradually sharpening.

why?
Momo Shirakawa, Ryo Hatsushino, Shionai Shiona—everyone is hindering her.

Calmness and rationality vanished as blood rushed through my veins, my vision narrowed, and my fingers involuntarily clenched, the purple nail polish digging into my delicate skin.

Shinkai Shiona narrowed her eyes, her expression gradually turning terrifying: "Senpai, this is the body Kuronuma-kun has reserved. Be careful. He said he'd consider joining the kendo club if I pay a sufficient price."

Upon hearing the name Kuronuma Kiba, Toyama Chitose instantly regained her senses and let go of his hands limply.

"If you have to blame someone, blame it on the fact that you only know how to fish with a straight hook. I understand now, Kuronuma-kun is the kind of person who won't give anything unless he gets something in return."

Shinonome Shionai's smile instantly returned to its bright state, her sweet voice filled with a provocative tone: "If you reform the band now, Senpai, I can give up on trying to win over Kuronuma-kun. Otherwise, there's nothing I can do. Huh?"

"Is the band more important than our friendship?" Chitose Toyama asked in an almost murmured voice, a heavy sense of powerlessness weighing down her. Thunder rumbled in the dark sky, and the past bonds between the two, now on opposing sides, shattered.

Inside the mountaineering club's activity room, Kuroguma Kiba was unaware that a new battleground was beginning to take shape around him.

Outside the window, the torrential rain shook the bare trees, creating a desolate scene.

Inside the classroom where the club activities were taking place, warm air was blowing from the air conditioner vents.

A soft sofa, ice-cold cola to drink, and various snacks laid out on the coffee table in front of you.

He was sitting cross-legged on the sofa, leisurely enjoying his lunch break, when suddenly there was a knock on the door.

"Please come in."

Kuronuma looked up and saw Matsusaka Kanon push open the classroom door and walk in.

Her long, black hair fell straight down, gleaming like satin. She wore a clean, crisp white shirt with a gray knitted cardigan, and beneath a black pleated skirt, her slender, delicate legs looked as if they could be easily broken. She wore a pair of black loafers.

After looking around, she smiled and asked in a gentle voice, "Is President Toyama not here?"

"Not here." Black Swamp Fang looked away and continued playing with his Pokémon, showing no intention of entertaining her.

"I see. I'd like to ask for leave during the training trip, but it'll be troublesome without the president's permission."

Matsuzaka Kanon closed the door, walked into the mountaineering club, and sat down on the sofa close to him, her knees bent and legs turned to the side in a very ladylike posture.
"Kuronuma-kun, the secret from last night will expire after the training trip, you know?"

"is it?"

"Don't forget what I told you, it's better to bring up any conditions now."

"Then I'll just ask directly, what is your purpose, senior?" Kuronuma Kiba put down his handheld game console, looked up and met her beautiful gray eyes.

Against the backdrop of her porcelain-like, delicate white skin, the beauty mark at the corner of her eye was particularly alluring.

"If I answer this question, will Kuronuma keep it a secret?"

"Can consider it."

"Oh, I'm considering it."

Matsuzaka Kanon chuckled lightly, her thin, bloodless lips trailing off, and said in a weak voice, "I don't believe such ambiguous words. Just state your terms."

"Smarter than Shinkai Shiona," Kuronuma Kiba thought for a moment, scrutinizing her slender figure with a critical gaze. "If Matsusaka-senpai trusts my credibility, then exchange it for a secret of equal value."

"Kuronuma-kun is really not cute at all."

Matsuzaka Kanon rolled her eyes at him reproachfully, bent down to pick up the half-finished cola from the coffee table, and held it in her hands: "But I don't have any other secrets, what should I do?"

"Then I'll go ask Shinkai."

"Okay, it's fine to tell you."

Under Kuronuma's gaze, she looked out at the rain, brought the cola to her lips, took a small sip, and her voice carried a hint of sorrow: "The Shinkai family has only one secret, and I am the legendary son of injustice."

"Is this a secret?" He snatched the Coke from Matsuzaka Kanon's hand and threw it directly into the trash can.

The sudden indirect kissing out of nowhere seems too suspicious, with a strong sense of conspiracy.

This woman had ulterior motives towards him—Kuronuma Fang instantly became wary, feeling a sense of disgust at being treated like a child.
