Chapter 95 New Yorkers Have Tough Jobs Every Day

Like a seasoned veteran pilot from Hell who has just been launched, Peter plummeted straight down the streets of Super New York. The system built into his suit immediately reported the current crime situation in New York, and Peter immediately understood why violent crime in New York had intensified in the past two days—because in the two days he was away, a new supervillain had appeared in New York.

A metal behemoth, resembling a Ferris wheel frame and over five meters tall, was speeding through the streets of New York. Armed machine guns and mechanical claws were mounted on both sides of the behemoth, and it ruthlessly crushed all the vehicles on the street. Drivers waiting at red lights saw this thing rushing towards them, jumped out of their cars, and fled.

"What is that thing?"

[The equipment developed by Jackson Wilhelm. Jackson Wilhelm, former sales manager at Osborn Industries, faced embezzlement charges and attempted to break into the company to destroy accounts, but was discovered and dismissed. It is speculated that his motive was revenge against Osborn Industries.]

“No one would create a ‘Big Wheel’ just because their name is Weele.”

Peter, grumbling as he spread his arms, used his net wings to glide closer to the thing, and glanced at what the Avengers were doing: most of them were in Arizona today escorting Abomination to the newly completed Raft Prison. Now, only Ant-Man and the Wasp remained in New York.

They're probably no match for this giant wheel; I didn't see them, and I wonder what they're busy with.

The NYPD, trying to stop this thing from atop a Manhattan building, was also desperate. Dealing with something like a horror movie or a chameleon might offer some hope, at least they'd seem relatively normal. But a two-story building with machine guns and mechanical claws on wheels? How could they possibly withstand that? It was basically a walking steel coil!
Ant-Man transformed into a giant several meters tall and tried to stop the giant wheel. The wheel, however, used its mechanical arm to grab a car on the road and throw it over the giant's head, while simultaneously unleashing a barrage of machine gun fire at the giant.

These attacks were of course useless against the giant. His battle suit and the increased power he gained after becoming gigantic were enough to block them. However, a shocking scene unfolded. As the giant stretched out his hand, the Ferris wheel used its extremely high rotation speed to vigorously rub against his palm. Then, with a burst of speed, the huge wheel swung directly at the giant's face. After another burst of speed, it bounced away like a yo-yo and continued its journey on another path.

Peter, who had already landed near the Osborne Building, couldn't help but complain.

"This is awesome! Thriller, Mysterio, Giant Ship... Am I now dealing with problems that even the Avengers can't handle every week?"

"Hey Spider-Man, I'm glad you look healthy." Janet the Bumblebee's voice came through the communicator. At the weekend press conference, in addition to announcing Spider-Man and Black Panther joining the Avengers, Janet had also been officially promoted. Of course, she was already the Avengers' manager, so her joining or not didn't make much difference.

"I've arrived at the Osborne Building. Can the Pym Particles on your equipment be projected externally?"

Peter, rushing from Osborn Tower to the scene, looked at the dust-filled streets and faced a giant, high-speed wheel. His best opponents would be Iron Man or Hulk, who could easily take him down, but unfortunately, both of them were out escorting Abomination, so he had to figure out a solution himself.

"Wait a moment, let me ask Hank."

“I’m on the comms.” Ant-Man sighed, returning to his normal size as he communicated with Peter: “Janet has prepared Pym Particle Darts that can be thrown. I know what you’re planning, but it might not work… Your enhanced webs have only about a 79.6% chance of stopping them.”

“Then it can’t be considered just that, Hank.” The little wasp was clearly very satisfied with the plan and saw Peter swinging on his web in the city: “I’m here, little spider, get ready.”

"Ready at all the time."

The reinforced spiderwebs formed a dense, impenetrable barrier at the intersection, but the giant ship paid no heed, instead accelerating and breaking through the webs. The moment it made contact with the webs, Pym particles magnified them, turning the white, viscous webs into a massive, solidified glue that nearly blocked the entire street. The giant ship's impact was indeed difficult to stop, but its speed involuntarily decreased.

So the giant ship chose to reverse, but it was also surrounded by spider webs. So it turned 90 degrees and accelerated towards the Manhattan building. With only a few meters of acceleration left, the giant ship crashed into the building! It didn't penetrate the building! It started running along the outer wall of the building!

"How can it run on a wall?! It defies the laws of physics!"

Ant-Man and Bumblebee fell silent upon hearing Spider-Man's words. It seemed that you were the least qualified person in New York to say such a thing.

However, Spider-Man did not choose to sit idly by. His webs stuck to the machine gun mount of the giant wheel, trying to pull it off the wall. But the giant wheel had already shot into the sky and landed on the street on the other side of the building, continuing its deadly sprint toward Osborn Technology. As for Peter, he tried to use his other hand to shoot webs to stick to the road to increase resistance, but this thing was just a huge steel coil with an engine, and he couldn't stop it by himself.

Fortunately, Peter wasn't alone.

The giant ship's machine gun turned and aimed at him, but Peter's spider-sense didn't activate. Sure enough, another spider silk descended from the sky, stuck to the machine gun muzzle, and with a strong pull, dismantled the entire machine gun. Cindy used the same method to take out the machine gun on the other side, then used her spider silk to stick to the machine gun turret on the other side, and together with Peter, they pulled the giant ship firmly.

The rapidly spinning tires finally stopped, and the still-accelerating giant wheel left deep dents in the road. Ant-Man, now the size of an ant, flew over riding a flying ant and enlarged himself again, becoming a giant. He stretched out his hands and grabbed the spider silk fired by two spiders. Together with them, they finally pulled the giant wheel to a stop on the road. With the collapse of this miniature Ferris wheel, yet another supervillain (or so the Avengers thought?) was defeated.

"The weele was defeated by the parker, and everyone was happy."

After Spider-Man finished speaking, he looked at his teammates who were silently watching him and shrugged.

"What, isn't it funny? I think it's pretty good."

The real name of the giant wheel was Jackson Weller (weele), which is a homophone of the English word "wheel". Because of the pun, it was changed to Weilun and Weilun.

There's not much to introduce. It's a classic, eerie villain from the old days. I suggest sitting at the same table as the Wall, the Alphabet Man, and the Tickle King.
