Chapter 80 Weapon X
Chapter 80 Weapon X
Winter House is a place where money is no longer currency, but flowing desire, the oxygen gamblers breathe. Winners laugh, losers maintain their composure, but everyone is pulled by the same insane gravitational pull, sinking into this golden cage until the last chip is left.
It was in this place that a Japanese man with distinctly Caucasian features walked in. He had a high-bridged nose and deep-set eyes, but those eyes held a cold, Eastern quality. He stood at the casino entrance, taking a deep breath, as if to savor every vestige of decay and extravagance. Then, he smiled, his sharp canines gleaming coldly under the lights.
This wasn't his first time at "Winter House," but each time, the casino brought him new surprises. For example, today, the cold air from the air conditioning system carried a rusty smell, like some kind of old, bloody omen, making the air even more unsettling than yesterday.
"What is he looking for here?" the security guard quietly asked the receptionist.
“I didn’t know; he’s been here for several days.”
The casino staff watched him curiously. This Japanese man had been there for several days but hadn't gambled; he just wandered around each day, observed the people, and then left. Many suspected he was planning something illicit. Looking at his muscular physique and the Japanese yakuza tattoos on his skin, there was no doubt he was a formidable opponent. Several security guards were already prepared, waiting to strike the man in the face with stun guns.
But today seemed different. This mixed-race Japanese man walked into the casino with a bag on his back, opened the bag, took out a wad of cash, and placed it on the counter.
"Exchange all of it for chips, please." He grinned, revealing sharp and menacing canines. "I've been looking around here for a few days now, and I'm sure it's a good place. I'm planning to gamble a few rounds."
"Welcome, sir."
The receptionist's fingers trembled slightly as she quickly counted the banknotes and pushed out a stack of chips. The man grabbed them, walked to a specific gambling table, sat down, and lightly tapped the surface with his fingertips, as if waiting for a signal. His five senses were already sharpened, like an invisible net, capturing every movement in the casino.
"Calm down, buddy."
The voices of his completely untrusted comrades came through the concealed earpiece, warning him: "Now is not a good time to take action against Weapon X."
"Ha, Weapon X, I want to laugh every time I hear that name. He has long forgotten everything about himself, so why do you give him a name from the past?"
The man calmly held his cards, then raised the bet, revealed his hand, and lost. But he didn't seem to care; he simply smiled and opened another hand. He still had plenty of chips; no rush, he could take his time.
He stared at the gambling table in front of him, but his senses were elsewhere. He saw the man's presence and realized that the man seemed to be meeting someone. The man walked into the office behind him. There were only five people in the office, all with unfamiliar scents, posing no threat, and he could take action.
He dealt the cards again and lost again. The man whistled and then dealt another hand. Just then, a woman with a slender figure approached, her red lips slightly parted, and offered him a glass of red wine.
Hello, ma'am.
The mixed-race Japanese man put his arm around the woman's waist, smiled, took the glass of wine she offered, tilted his head back, and downed it in one gulp. As his Adam's apple bobbed, the voice in his earpiece sounded again:
"Everything is ready. Prepare to move out. Remember your mission: don't kill Weapon X."
He just smiled at the woman.
A sudden explosion engulfed the entire casino, plunging the scene into panic. Three strangely dressed individuals, armed with various weapons, stormed into the casino. The one at the front wore a red battle suit, with black markings on his hood indicating the eyes. He wielded two swords, slashing indiscriminately. The third man was incredibly tall, also dressed in a pure red battle suit. His long golden hair billowed in the shockwave of the explosion, and two freely moving metal tentacles extended from his arms, relentlessly piercing the bodies of the gamblers.
The last person was crouching atop a mangled corpse, his overgrown fingernails stained with blood, which even soaked his yellow fur coat, beads of blood dotting the fur on the collar. These were three members of Weapon X: Deadpool, Red Omega, and Sabretooth.
"Casino Grand Sale! Third prize: I'll chop off your head!"
As Deadpool spoke, he chopped off a person's head, then continued excitedly shouting, "Second prize, I chopped off a leg! First prize, I chopped off an arm!"
“There’s also the jackpot—” Deadpool stood in front of a gambler who hadn’t had time to run away. The gambler trembled as he looked at the almond-sized eye patch on Deadpool’s mask and the three gamblers behind him who had lost their heads, arms, and legs.
Deadpool gave him a warm hug.
"You survived! Run!"
Feeling like he had just escaped death, the gambler ran quickly toward the hole created by the bomb, only to be grabbed by the neck by a saber-toothed tiger halfway there, which pierced the poor man's throat with its claws.
Deadpool couldn't help but kneel down and weep bitterly.
"No! Victor! Why are you so cruel!"
The only comment on this red Omega is one sentence.
"Neuropathy."
Faced with such a bloody and chaotic scene, the mixed-race man simply smiled, released the woman he was holding, but then grabbed her neck, and two sharp claws with metal attached shot out from his hands, piercing through the woman's skull.
Then, he took the lead and rushed into Wolverine's office through the window, letting out the roar he had been preparing for days.
"Die, James Howlett! I want you to remember that I, Deakin Akihiro, am the one who killed you!"
Deakin burst into the office, spreading his arms wide. Three metal claws shot out from his hands: two extending from the back of his hands, and one emerging from his wrist. He had only one goal: to kill Wolverine.
However, things didn't seem to go as he expected, because there were indeed four other people in the office besides Logan. But the problem was, these four people were: a pure blue beast, a freak in a red and blue striped uniform, a girl in a black battle suit with a face mask pulled up, and a middle-aged man in a large trench coat who had his hand on the button.
A crimson beam of light shot out from Cyclops's goggles, blasting Daken Akihiro straight out of the office. Cyclops then looked at Wolverine.
"It seems you don't need to go looking for your Weapon X friends at all; they're coming to you."
