Chapter 763 The Trial of Immortality
Peter was unaware of the message when it reached Kunlun; Iron Fist Daniel received it first.

He didn't tell Peter either.

"Why don't you tell him?"

Mr. Shou asked, puzzled. He couldn't understand many concepts, including stocks, and asked curiously, "Is this important?"

"This means my friend is in trouble, and it's serious. If he knew, he would definitely choose to go back and help, but the problem is, even if he went back now, he wouldn't be able to help much."

Daniel spoke calmly, explaining that with Peter's practice over the past few days, and with his previous magical foundation, he was now basically able to circulate Qi within his body.

This is already enough to qualify for the Immortal Weapon Trial. Of course, for ordinary cultivators, this is still a long way off; merely entering the realm is not enough to complete the Immortal Trial. But Peter is different. He is already strong enough, and simply circulating and cultivating Qi is not enough to enhance him significantly.

Instead, he could become an immortal weapon first, and then cultivate his Qi. That might be simpler and wouldn't waste any time.

"At times like these, mindset is the most important thing."

Daniel, who was meditating in front of Elder Shou, spoke while circulating his inner energy. However, Elder Shou did not entirely agree with his point of view: "Perhaps it should be spoken out, so that people's minds can be better tempered."

Daniel remained silent. Since yesterday, a series of safety incidents at Stark Industries had thrust the company into the spotlight, causing its stock to plummet by an unprecedented 50%, wiping out countless fortunes in an instant. This was a devastating blow to Stark Industries, especially during the Stark-Roxon War; it had almost crippled the company, leading many to believe that the business war was over.

It is said that a large number of companies have already swarmed around it like piranhas, ready to enjoy a delicious meal.

The culprit behind all this wasn't Stark's technical shortcomings, but rather Mephisto's slight intervention. In other words, if Spider-Man had been told this, he might very well have rushed back to New York right now.

What's the point of rushing back now? It's better to complete the trial of the immortal weapon first, so that the efforts of the past two weeks won't have been in vain.

Meanwhile, in the Spider Kingdom, Peter sat cross-legged on a spider silk, a grappling hook slung over his shoulder, adjusting his state. Just like in the last battle, there was no armor, no magic, and no symbiote.

He felt the flow of energy within his body and the trembling of the spider silk beneath him. The trembling grew stronger and stronger. Peter suddenly opened his eyes, then leaped down into the spider silk. He turned to look at the sky, where the mountain spider's claws were aimed at the spot where he had just moved.

He swung the grappling hook in his hand, and the hook successfully caught the spider silk. Peter used this to swing onto another spider silk, and then, just like before, released the bioelectricity of his entire body to shake the spider silk itself, thereby reducing the mountain spider's perception.

Then, he disappeared.

Then, the mountain spider also disappeared.

Mimicry is also one of the abilities of the Mountain Spider. As an immortal beast, its essence is similar to Thor's, an evolution of the story, and a collection of spiders from various Eastern folk tales and myths. Naturally, it also possesses the ability to mimic. However, the Mountain Spider does not possess bioelectricity; after all, ancient people did not know that spiders could generate electricity.

Peter watched the mountain spider disappear and realized that it intended to use the same method he had used before. If both of them were invisible, then sensing each other through the vibrations of the web would be disadvantageous. Spider-sensor, on the other hand, would only provide constant warnings and wouldn't offer accurate feedback, while the mountain spider itself still possessed this energy-sensing ability.

However… Peter’s spider-sense had long since evolved. While Spider-Man Noir’s shadow sense wasn’t always useful, it could come in handy in crucial moments. Peter closed his eyes, located the mountain spider, turned around, hooked his grappling hook onto its back, and then leaped up to land on the mountain spider’s back.

"That's it!"

According to the anatomical structure of spiders, the heart is a huge blood vessel in the back that pumps blood. Peter took a deep breath, then forcefully stabbed the mountain spider's back with his hand, and pulled it out—only flesh and blood came out.

In his astonishment, the mountain spider suddenly flipped over, its sharp claws nearly piercing him, while the mountain spider burst into laughter.

"I'm not a real spider, I'm a god, kid. How could a god's structure be the same as a real spider's?"

God is a product of stories, and the creators of these stories clearly cannot dissect a spider, so what? Peter was corrupted by modern knowledge.

"But if we retreat now, we might not have this good opportunity again... wait a minute."

While in mid-air, Peter suddenly had a flash of inspiration. He threw out the grappling hook and poured his already limited energy into it. The rope instantly became straight and hard, and the grappling hook pierced the wound on the mountain spider's back, penetrating it completely. Then, Peter followed the grappling hook to the mountain spider's wound, activated his bioelectricity, and poured it into the wound.

The electric current traveled along the wound to the mountain spider's entire body, causing it to stiffen and collapse. Peter then tore open its shell, found its human-like heart burning with green flames, and pulled it out. The mountain spider's body then began to dissipate.

"Alright, now for the next step... Speaking of which, Daniel said the Mountain Spider is the weakest of the Immortal Beasts, and the Mountain Spider said it would go easy on them during the trial. So, did it actually go easy on them?"

Back at the Mountain Spider's temple, Peter muttered to himself as he walked to the brazier where the ritual was performed. The entire ritual was actually quite simple: find the burning heart of the immortal beast, place it in the brazier, then pierce both hands into the brazier. The immortal power then enters the body through the burning, and the flow of qi combines the immortal power with one's own life energy.

Immortal mythical beasts will also be resurrected and reborn during this ritual.

Peter took a deep breath, feeling the flames. For the first time, he could directly feel his body getting stronger. Every part of him was growing on its own. It wasn't an external force invading, but his own life force growing exponentially along with the massive flames.

A mark resembling a spider began to appear on his chest.

Each Iron Fist fighter has a dragon mark on their chest.
