The real life of an American police officer: Winning over others with virtue
Chapter 55 Help me!
Chapter 55 Help me! (Please read)
So there are several people at the same level as Daves.
Superintendent Grey is the boss of these people and the chief of the West Canyon Police Department. He is considered the Number 1/NO.1 of the West Canyon Police Department.
"So you don't have a choice, Eric," Daves said calmly.
"Once you've finished your business, just go over there."
Things had come to this point, what else could Eric say? Fortunately, he had +0.5 attribute points today, so slacking off for a while wouldn't hurt him much. Looking at Daves, he could only answer obediently:
"Yes! Sir!"
Daves nodded and said, "Go ahead."
Parking spot in the detention area.
"Sir, where do you plan to start your patrol?"
Hearing this, Eric looked at Annie who was fastening her seat belt, took out a party poster from his pocket and handed it to her.
"I'm not working this afternoon, so I'm going to help out here."
Annie raised an eyebrow and took it. Looking at the party scene above, she said, "Is this why Commander Daves called you out?"
Eric adjusted his seat and folded his arms.
"Rookie, you're lucky. Looks like we can leave work early today."
Because he was participating in a party, he did not need to notify the dispatch center. Once he did, it meant that his 10-A-11 patrol unit was available to receive police reports.
This is also why he said he would leave work early.
Annie glanced at Eric, who was being lazy and doing nothing again, put away the picture book, entered the address on the map on the center console, started the ignition, and drove the patrol car slowly out of the detention area and headed straight for the destination.
When the two arrived at Green Community, the community had already begun to become quite lively.
The air was filled with cheerful blues music and balloons were placed on the streets.
This is just the periphery.
The community square at the deepest part is even more lively. There is a whole row of awnings on the side of the road, and below is a long table covered with plaid cloth, filled with special foods that represent the preparations of a certain family.
There is even a flea market and stalls selling various home crafts.
In addition to these, this wealthy community also organized a street team to perform.
The place was bustling with people coming and going, busy adults and playful children mixed together, making it quite lively.
Annie subconsciously looked at Eric. She had never participated in this as a patrol officer and didn't know what to do.
But Eric saw a middle-aged woman in uniform and carrying a work ID walking out of the crowd on the other side, and he knew that this middle-aged woman was probably the person in charge.
"follow me."
Annie nodded and followed.
Eric's guess was correct. The middle-aged woman walking towards him was indeed the person in charge.
"Are you officers from the West Canyon Police Department?" the middle-aged woman asked, but she didn't seem overly enthusiastic.
"Yes, ma'am, what do we need to do?" Eric looked at the lively scene in front.
"If there's anything we can do to help, we'll be happy to help."
In such a wealthy place, the role of the patrolman representing the party is just like this: either help out or just stand there and stare blankly after helping out.
If someone calls you for help on the way, you have to go and help.
"Well, there is indeed something that needs your help." said the middle-aged woman.
"We need two people to watch what's on that table."
Hearing this, Eric looked in the direction indicated by the middle-aged woman. Looking at the tables on the outer street, the flowers on them, and some small items as a token of appreciation for participation, he instantly knew his role here.
As he imagined, the middle-aged woman smiled and said, "If anyone wants the little gift above, I hope you can give it to him. I'm sure he'll like it very much. Oh, and the children here like police officers the most."
Eric put on his brightest smile and said, "Yes, ma'am, I think we'd be happy to help and contribute to this wonderful community."
The middle-aged woman smiled and said, "Thank you."
"You're welcome!" Eric said with a smile, gave Annie a look, and walked over with her.
Like two door gods, they stood directly behind the table, guarding and maintaining public order.
However, the presence of such a conspicuous patrolman also attracted some children, who did not dare to approach.
Only one of them was quite cute. A little girl with two braids hanging behind her head, who looked only seven or eight years old, walked over and looked up at Eric, who was as tall as a giraffe to her, and said:
"Are you a police officer?"
Eric and Aini looked at each other and smiled, "Yes! What's your name?"
"My name is Vanessa. Do you have a gun that can spray webs? Like Spider-Man." The little girl gestured with her fingers, making a "whoosh" sound. She gestured excitedly and pointed at the Taser on Eric's waist.
Eric's mouth twitched, but he also smiled because of the cute little girl. "Uh... this is called a Taser, but it won't stick to bad guys."
"Does driving a police car feel like riding a roller coaster? Woohoo!"
"You must obey traffic rules"
"."
God knows why a little kid would have so many questions. Maybe it was because he looked so gentle and kind like an older brother, and with the little girl Vanessa leading the way, Eric soon found that there were a bunch of little kids standing around him, looking up at him.
Some of the children had strange looks in their eyes. They looked up at him as if they had seen something rare, and secretly sighed:
"so high!"
"."
This put him in a very difficult position. For the first time, he felt a headache, and the noisy voices of the children lingered in his ears, like a devil's sound.
You know, he has never had such a headache when dealing with troublesome police cases.
"Damn, why are kids so troublesome?" Eric responded with a smile on his face, cursing in his heart.
Annie, who was standing by, looked at Eric, who was being pestered by the children and whose expression was beginning to freeze, and her lips curled up slightly.
This was the first time she'd discovered this side of Eric, and it felt like solving a puzzle and suddenly finding a different answer.
She thought about it, walked over to help, and shared the burden with a large number of children.
"You can't touch uncle's gun secretly! It's dangerous."
"."
Fortunately, the party was about to end, and finally some adults came out to take the noisy children away, which made Eric breathe a sigh of relief.
He actually worked as a nanny for a long time. No wonder the middle-aged woman said nonsense about children liking policemen. It turns out this is the reason.
He complained in his heart and looked at Annie.
"You're quite good at dealing with children."
This girl came to rescue and directly attracted most of the firepower. She even used some small stories to seduce these kids and made them quiet down a lot, showing that she was very experienced.
Annie said lightly: "Because I have several brothers and sisters at home."
"Is that so?" Eric said indifferently, raising his wrist to check the time.
[16: 48]
Before I knew it, three or four hours had passed.
"You stay here. I'll go tell the person in charge. We should leave soon."
Annie nodded and said, "Okay!"
Eric left the spot and prepared to look for the middle-aged woman, but before he took a few steps, the noise he heard made him stop suddenly. He frowned and looked up in the direction ahead.
“No!!!! Don’t!!!”
“Help me!”
"Help!!! He's trying to kidnap my daughter!!!"
"No! Vanessa!!"
"."
The intermittent sound attracted the attention of everyone still in the party square. They looked around blankly, not knowing where the extremely shrill cry came from.
Eric had already sprinted towards the source of the sound, sprinting towards the townhouse in front like a sprinter:
"Rookie! Drive over here! It's across the street!"
Hearing Eric's shout, Annie didn't dare to delay and quickly ran towards the police car parked not far away.
