Chapter 44 UFO
Bang!
The car door closed and Annie put the coffee into the slot next to Eric. Nothing happened on her face, but she could feel her face getting a little hot.
She really is.
Eric picked up the coffee and took a sip, then watched the rookie put the water in his hand on the car door and fastened his seat belt.
"Just a bottle of water? Actually, you don't have to be polite to me."
After saying this, Annie's face became even hotter, but she felt that she could still conceal it well and there would not be any changes.
"I'll treat you next time."
Eric smiled and said nothing. Although the rookie seemed very calm, he could see that the rookie was embarrassed and unnatural. However, he didn't care much and didn't continue to tease him.
"Let's go."
"Yes! Sir!" Annie said seriously, drove away, and saw Eric waving to the couple who owned the store.
The husband-and-wife bosses inside also looked enthusiastic. They stood in the store and waved their hands constantly, not even doing their work.
"They seem to like you very much." Seeing this, Annie couldn't help but say.
Eric held his coffee in one hand, looked out the front window and said calmly, "Maybe it's because I saved their lives."
"Huh?" Annie was a little curious.
Eric put down the coffee in his hand, lay comfortably in the car seat and said.
"It was probably a year ago, when I was on the middle shift, around 10 o'clock in the evening, two black men broke into their store and tried to rob them, and I happened to see them."
Eric said it lightly, but Annie knew it was not that simple because the couple was Asian, and here Asians are at the lowest level of the contempt chain.
According to her understanding, some black people and the white people who discriminate against them are surprisingly consistent in discriminating against Asians.
Aini pursed her lips and whispered, "No wonder."
"Turn right! Rookie! Drive carefully!"
Suddenly Eric's calm voice sounded, and Annie subconsciously straightened up slightly.
"Yes, sir!"
Routine patrols are always so boring. Annie's eyes are as sharp as a falcon, and she always wants to find something unusual, but how can she find it under Eric's deliberate manipulation?
Two hours had passed since I left the West Canyon Police Station. The police computer seemed to have crashed, with no notifications ringing. There were only sounds of police officers investigating and requiring the attention of various units.
Annie looked at Eric, who was drinking coffee from time to time and looking out the window with a comfortable look on his face, and felt weak all over.
She had no idea what to do with Eric, who was playing badly.
However, just when she was gradually feeling bored, her mind was starting to feel a little numb, and her concentration was starting to decline, the voice that excited her finally appeared.
"Rookie, stop the car, there's something going on up ahead." Eric's voice woke her up directly.
Annie looked ahead with her eyes wide open, and found that there was a UFO, an alien spaceship similar to the ones she had seen as a child, speeding in front of her at a fairly high speed.
"UFO?" She was stunned.
Only Eric calmly operated the control panel, looked at the UFO in front, and turned on the lowest frequency siren.
He was used to it. He had seen too many strange things during his two years of patrolling.
On this land, under the system of this country, everyone can give full play to their "talents".
"Speed up! Stop it!"
"Ah! Yes!" Annie reacted and stepped on the accelerator.
Perhaps the uniquely shaped UFO in front heard the sirens and knew that the police car behind it was trying to stop it, so it began to slow down and slowly drove towards the side of the road.
Eric looked at Annie, wondering where she wanted to stop. If he wasn't satisfied, he'd deduct a point from his evaluation. Fortunately, Annie, perhaps having seen how he stopped yesterday, followed suit, slowly stopping about two meters behind the uniquely shaped UFO.
This distance was enough for the two of them to see two people sitting in the UFO, a man and a woman, both in their sixties, who looked like a couple.
The two of them didn't look panicked, but rather seemed to be used to it.
"10-Adam-11, calling dispatch, Code 6 disembarking to investigate."
Dispatch Center: "Received!"
After informing the dispatch center, Eric picked up the intercom and said.
“Be alert!”
"Understood!" Annie nodded obediently, followed Eric out of the car, and followed his example by putting her right hand in the holster, so that she could draw her gun immediately in case of an accident.
When the two of them got closer, they discovered that there was a card attached to the back cover of the uniquely shaped UFO with a long string of words written on it in very eye-catching red and green colors.
"Please come with us to Roswell, New Mexico, for the UFO Festival."
Seeing this, Eric didn't know what to think. He could only say that the people here were really talented and had very unrestrained ideas.
His tense body relaxed a little. Based on his experience on duty, there was probably nothing wrong with the old couple. The problem was the car that had been transformed into a UFO and had welds and rivet holes all over its exterior.
From his point of view, the main body of this UFO is a car, but the exterior has been cut off and then replaced with the exterior of a UFO.
This isn't a difficult craft.
But the fact that they were able to realize such bizarre ideas probably shows that this retired couple just felt that their lives were too boring.
Then he looked at the elderly couple who were sitting in the transparent dome in the center and were turning their heads towards him.
Interestingly, the old couple also wore a pair of green fly sunglasses.
This scene made Annie shrug her shoulders, expressing her feelings. She really didn't know how to say it.
"Cool," Eric laughed.
"Good morning, both of you."
The couple smiled, and the man nodded and said, "Good morning, officer."
Eric looked at the modified UFO and walked to the side. "Are you all right? This is the first time I've stopped a car like this."
"Very good, officer!" The next second, the couple suddenly made a gesture together.
Put your index and middle fingers together, your pinky and ring fingers together, then spread your two fingers apart to form a V shape.
"We come in peace! For everlasting life and prosperity!"
The scene was quite funny, and Eric couldn't help laughing. He naturally knew what the gestures they were making were.
The Vulcan salute is a greeting gesture from the aliens in the movie "Star Trek", similar to the human handshake.
I subconsciously glanced at Annie, who looked a little confused and didn't know what the gesture meant, and shook my head in my heart.
In this situation, if we send this rookie out, I guess she won't know how to solve it.
"Wow."
Eric said to the elderly couple, "So you're all aliens? That's interesting, but can I see your driver's license? Uh, and insurance?"
Because even aliens here have to abide by the laws of us Earthlings."
