"This..." Annie looked at Eric subconsciously.
Eric just turned around and walked towards the tables and chairs under the parasol, but left a word.
"Just think of it as me paying for you. Of course, if you want to pay, that's fine."
"Uh." Annie didn't know what to do for a moment.
Uriel smiled warmly and said, "I hope you won't refuse my kindness. Officer Eric and I have known each other for a long time, almost since he first became a patrolman.
So, how can I charge his new partner for his first visit? "
Having said that, Annie was quite straightforward. She raised the lunch box in her hand and smiled.
"Okay, I'll enjoy it."
Uriel smiled and nodded, watched Annie leave, sat in front of Eric, and then continued to work.
"Why, are you feeling sorry?" Eric said, picking up the sausage hot dog bun from the lunch box.
Annie said, "I just feel a little embarrassed seeing how hard he's trying."
Hearing this, Eric smiled: "Are you thinking that business here is bad? Sorry to take advantage of you. Five dollars is just a small amount of money for you."
Annie didn't answer, but her expression said that.
"Look, why is he still making so many preparations now?" Eric reminded.
Annie looked over and found that the stall, which originally had relatively few ingredients, suddenly became full without her knowing when.
"You underestimate this guy Uriel." Eric opened the lunch box, picked up the sausage hot dog bun which was quite large and had rich ingredients, took a big bite, and the spicy taste and rich layers made him instantly satisfied.
He continued, "The booth fees alone are a hefty sum, and this is where the local rush hour converges. So even though it might seem like only a few people are here right now, business is slow. It's simply because the office workers haven't finished their shift yet, and some night owls are just waking up."
At this point, Eric paused and said, "I've said all this to say that the price of a hot dog bun is nothing to Uriel. You can eat it without worry."
Annie nodded, feeling relieved, and began to open the lunch box and pick up the hot dog bun to eat.
Eric raised the corner of his mouth, glanced at the busy Uriel, and muttered to himself.
This guy is not only rich, but also very capable. You can tell from the way he invites the patrolmen so openly.
You have to know that this is free America. No matter where you are, there will always be security issues and unsafe factors.
If you often invite patrolmen who have considerable power compared to ordinary people to dinner, and deliberately get to know them well, so that they can often come here to eat, then the issue of public security can be basically guaranteed, and the rest is just a matter of how much money you can earn.
He was attracted by Uriel's series of operations and gradually started to dine here.
Of course, taste is the most important thing.
"Hmph! Cunning old Mexican!" Eric took a big bite!
……
After finishing the meal, Annie suddenly discovered that the number of customers at the stall had gradually increased, and they even started queuing.
"I'm not wrong, rookie."
Eric wiped his mouth with a tissue, then stood up and walked towards the direction where the police car was parked.
"Let's go, it's going to get really crowded here."
Annie nodded and stood up.
Just as the two men were leaving the stall, a woman with a slightly dark complexion left her workstation at the same time, holding packaged coffee. She seemed to have been prepared for it a long time ago and suddenly stood in front of the two men.
"Officer Eric, this is the coffee that Uriel and I made. It's a new product we'll be selling later. Please try it first."
"OK!"
Eric took it without hesitation and said to Uriel's wife, "Maya, I will give you a very fair evaluation tomorrow."
Maya smiled brightly and said, "Okay, Officer Eric! We'll be looking forward to it!"
Inside the Explorer patrol car. "You're welcome." Eric handed a cup to Annie, who was staring at the already crowded stall.
"Thank you." Annie took it subconsciously and said.
"Do you know why they are so enthusiastic about us?" Eric put the coffee down and lit it.
Annie held the cold cup of coffee and shook her head.
"There's only one simple reason. Because we have powerful weapons, we can make the insecurity here less severe."
After Eric finished speaking, he saw Annie looking thoughtful and picked up the intercom.
"10-Adam (two-man patrol unit)-11, begin patrol."
Dispatch Center: "Received!"
Hanging up the walkie-talkie, Eric turned the steering wheel and drove away.
Coincidentally, a similar police car was coming towards them on the street.
It was Will, Jonah and the others.
Eric was not surprised. This place was indeed very affordable and the environment was nice, so he introduced it to Will, whom he knew well.
As for other colleagues, they have their own fixed lunch places and may not come here.
"Shit! You bastard, you came on time."
Will steered the car to a stop next to Eric's police car, looking at the queued stalls and cursing with a smile.
Jonah, who was sitting in the passenger seat, leaned over and gave a silent greeting.
The same was true for Annie, but she found that her classmate looked very bad.
"What do you think?" Eric put one hand on the car window and smiled at Will.
"You look so stinky, what happened?"
"Fuck!" Will seemed to have thought of something bad, and his face twitched a few times and became ugly.
"Huh?" Eric felt a little curious when he saw this.
Will looked at Jonah in the passenger seat: "You say it!"
Jonah was even more unbearable, he shuddered and said with a wry smile: "We received a report that three women were having sex in their own swimming pool in broad daylight.
And then we went to catch them, and they were in the back seat. They were in the back seat…”
……
"Cough cough."
Eric coughed dryly a few times when he suddenly heard something so explosive and challenging to normal people's worldviews.
This is really weird. It's worthy of being the free America. This is really free, too free.
Eric complained in his heart, then looked at the angry and trembling Will and couldn't help laughing. He could imagine Will's helpless and furious look as he yelled and cursed but to no avail.
Even Annie shuddered. She couldn't imagine what she would be like in this situation.
"Thank you for your hard work, Will. This must be difficult to clean up." Eric laughed.
"f***!" Will cursed again, looking at Eric who was laughing, with unkindness in his eyes.
"Well, we're going to get to work." Eric said with a smile.
"God bless you, I hope you still have an appetite."
But just as he stepped on the accelerator, the voice of the dispatch center came over the police radio.
"10-Adam (two-man patrol unit)-11! Code 2-HIGH (priority incident, lights or sirens required),
Call 246 (Shootings in Residential Area), 39th East, Watts, caller reported hearing several gunshots.
