The real life of an American police officer: Winning over others with virtue
Chapter 20 Police Information
Chapter 20 Police Information
The quiet streets are surrounded by office buildings, or some residential buildings.
A Ford Explorer patrol car was gliding along the street, and a female patrol officer was walking on the street next to the patrol car. She was beautiful when viewed up close and also when viewed from a distance.
But there was a layer of coldness on her face. Annie looked at the patrol car that had been following beside her, and then saw the young man sitting inside enjoying himself, and the coldness on her face became even heavier.
A man and a car were walking to the side of a large court where some young people were playing basketball. When the young people saw this strange scene, they all subconsciously stopped what they were doing and looked at him in surprise.
When these young people who were in the best years of their youth saw Annie's delicate face, there was a commotion.
For a moment, the atmosphere around here became a little noisy.
Sitting in the car, enjoying the air conditioning, Eric calmly raised his wrist to check the time.
At this time, Annie outside had been gone for almost fifteen minutes.
The season is just beginning to get hot.
Eric looked out the car window and his gaze stopped on Annie. There were fine beads of sweat spreading on her face and her uniform was also a little wet.
"This girl is really stubborn! Even her father, the Assistant Chief Inspector, must be troubled by having a daughter like this."
He didn't mean to bully anyone. Within fifteen minutes, he had asked for the address here three times, but the girl answered that she didn't know.
He had clearly taken her to the bus stop on purpose.
"Trainee Police Officer Annie, do you understand where you are now?" Eric leaned forward and asked loudly, controlling the car with one hand.
Annie lifted her bulletproof vest and looked at Eric who was peeking inside.
"Report! Sir! We don't know yet."
Eric twitched the corner of his mouth and looked at her struggling to lift the bulletproof vest. He was too lazy to care about it anymore. He wanted to see how long this American girl could hold on.
He really didn't believe it!
However, her father, who was an Assistant Chief Inspector of Police, flashed through her mind.
"That's all! It's nothing more than a matter of personal relationships."
The biggest turning point came when Eric was trying to find a reason to let her into the car.
After about half an hour, the police radio finally picked up some information.
"10-Adam (two-man patrol unit) -11! Code 3 (emergency, lights and sirens required), address: 475 Oak Street, third floor, room 5. The caller, Reina, reports that her son, Glenn, is high on drugs and slashing around with a kitchen knife, trying to hurt her..."
The sound penetrated the half-open car window and reached Annie's ears. She shuddered and subconsciously looked at the stopped patrol car.
Eric picked up the intercom connected to the radio, pressed the button and said:
"10-Adam-11, read it!"
Then he said to Annie, who was standing on the street, in an unquestionable tone:
"Get in the car!"
Annie got into the car obediently and moved quite quickly.
After closing the door, she pulled on her seatbelt and asked, "What should I do?"
Eric stepped on the accelerator, turned the car around, and drove towards the destination:
"Code 3."
"Turn on the police lights and sirens to clear the way." Annie muttered to herself, looking up at the control panel above.
"The second operating panel controls the police lights, and the third operating panel controls the sirens." Eric said at the same time.
"OK!"
Annie stretched out her hands and snapped twice, and the police car made corresponding movements, the sirens sounded, and the lights on the police car lit up.
Eric glanced at her and saw Annie's serious and solemn expression, and his eyebrows raised slightly.
As expected of a rookie who graduated with top marks in the police academy, are your skills up to par? So, let me see what you're capable of in this police case. With that thought in mind, Eric stomped on the accelerator, and the Ford Explorer patrol car shot towards the intersection ahead.
"What the hell!"
Annie was hit hard on the back. She looked out the front window and saw the turning intersection ahead, and subconsciously grabbed the safety armrest on the car door.
She just watched as the Ford Explorer patrol car, under Eric's control, did a tailspin drift at the intersection.
"Fuck! This guy is crazy!" This was the only sentence in Annie's mind.
……………………………………………………………
475 Oak Street.
A Ford Explorer patrol car slammed to a stop on a street.
"Sir! Do you usually drive like this?"
Annie tried her best to control her body from being carried away by the inertia of the brakes. She looked at Eric who was calmly unbuckled in the driver's seat and said with lingering fear.
This damn instructor was driving at the maximum limit the whole time. People who didn’t understand thought he was racing!
Eric said calmly, "Usually, we only drive like this when there's an emergency, because the police lights and sirens lead the way..."
In fact, the real idea is that only in this case, he will not be scolded by his superiors for driving like this, and at the same time he can hone his driving skills.
The driving skill can be upgraded from normal to level 4 (mastered) by doing this, improving little by little.
Of course, the faces of the people above will be very bad.
Eric thought of Daves, whose face would turn black every time he saw him. Daves was a black man himself, and if his face turned black, it would be impossible to see where he was at night.
Complaining in his heart, Eric raised the corner of his mouth slightly, picked up the intercom and said:
"10-Adam-11, Code 6 (Exit vehicle for investigation), please be advised."
Dispatch Center: "Received!"
"..."
After hearing the response, Eric got out of the car, closed the door and looked at the apartment building in front.
He is very familiar with the situation in this area.
When I came here, I had a general idea of the terrain and conditions here.
The size of this block is between mid-range and lower-middle-end, and whether it is rent, environment, or food and drink, it is in line with the consumption of ordinary people.
Therefore, most of the people here are ordinary office workers, and the flow of people is quite good.
And it is these office workers who have the ability to buy more pills.
A thought flashed through his mind, and seeing Annie had already gotten out of the car, Eric put his right hand on his holster and said, "Let's go! Let's go in and see what's going on." After that, he left.
Annie followed closely.
This was her first mission, so it was impossible for her not to be nervous. Fortunately, she had heard of and inquired about the young man in front of her, and knew some of his reputation and deeds.
He was very capable, and Annie felt a little relieved.
The two entered the building one after the other.
"Until you know what the situation is, it's best to remain vigilant," Eric said.
“Because anything can happen.”
Annie nodded obediently and followed Eric closely...
