Chapter 14 Newcomers
No matter what, none of this has anything to do with him. When he was a newcomer, he was often bullied and teased by the veterans.

But as time went on, as he was able to survive various conflicts, and as he took leave from one major incident after another, this situation gradually disappeared.

Instead, it was warm and friendly.

Eric patted his uniform and looked up before entering the briefing room.

In front, he could see Daves walking towards him from a distance with a stern face, a strong aura on his body, and some documents in his hands.

Eric couldn't help laughing as he thought of something, and before Daves could glare at him, he slipped into the briefing room through the back door.

The briefing room is lined with rows of tables and chairs, a podium in front, and a large whiteboard next to the podium. The overall layout is similar to that of a classroom, the only difference being the people present.

The first row below the podium is a long row of tables and chairs, and the seats in the back are mostly single chairs, with occasional tables and chairs rowed together.

This means that there is plenty of freedom in the back to sit wherever you like and arrange the tables and chairs.

This is why Will insisted that the new recruits sit in the front.

Just like in the classroom, except for those good students who follow the rules, most students would rather sit in the back, away from the teacher on the podium.

Of course, this briefing room does not have a fixed seating arrangement. You can sit wherever you want. The biggest difference is that you are selected based on your ability.

His seat was the last one by the window. He liked to sit there and do nothing, occasionally listening to Daves's scolding, and occasionally looking out the window to pass the time.

The important thing is that, generally speaking, no one would sit in his usual seat.

So today, no one sits in this seat either.

"Eric, where have you been?"

The old birds behind all looked over and someone asked.

"I went to the bathroom," Eric responded as he walked towards his usual seat;

"Daves is here!"

After these words were spoken, the old birds understood immediately and shut up.

And after he sat down, Daves with a sour face appeared at the front door, looking at everyone coldly.

"Quiet!" He glanced around, looking for any troublemaker. Fortunately, no one dared to challenge his authority.

In formal occasions, the concept of superiors and subordinates is still quite strong.

The newcomers sitting in the first row subconsciously held their breath and stood stiffly. Only the veterans in the back seemed a little more relaxed, sitting casually but not saying a word.

Daves took a special look at Eric, who was sitting at the back. Seeing him grinning and looking like a good kid, he snorted inwardly and walked into the patrol briefing room and stopped at the podium.

"Very good. We have some new people today. Even though they are little birds crying for food, they still have time to grow up."

Daves said, glancing at the newcomer sitting in the front row, and continued.

"Of course, it's possible that they fell from their nest to the ground before they grew up."

As soon as these words were spoken, the old birds behind all smiled knowingly and laughed happily.

Eric's mouth twitched, as if Daves had said the same thing when he was a newcomer. He subconsciously glanced at the four newcomers sitting in a row in front of him.

He hadn't looked over when he came in, but what surprised him was that two of the four newcomers were women. One had short hair and a slightly overweight figure, while the other had long brown hair and a nice figure, tied up with a hairband that looked quite tight.

"No wonder there are only two new guys in the men's locker room," Eric thought to himself.

The patrol department of the West Canyon Police Department is a very large department. There are male patrolmen as well as female patrolmen. Although the female patrolmen are as cool as the male patrolmen, there should naturally be a female locker room.

So it's not surprising that he didn't get caught in the locker room.

Because of the front-to-back relationship, he could only see the backs and could not see the faces of the two female newlyweds clearly, but in his opinion, they probably didn't look much better.

There are some good-looking female patrol officers, but they are very few in number.

"Even so, the arrival of the chicks has also added a certain amount of manpower to our West Canyon Police Department."

Daves said, putting the documents on the table, clapping his hands and taking the lead.

"Let us welcome them and thank them for choosing the West Canyon Police Department."

Clap, clap, clap. For a moment, the applause continued, and along with the cheers of the veterans, the briefing room became a little lively.

When the applause gradually died down, Daves glanced coldly at the newcomers in the front row who were looking at each other, and said coldly.

"Newcomers stand up!"

The four newcomers, including Farrell and Jonah, looked at each other and stood up.

"To your superiors, each of these individuals is qualified to be your instructor."

The four of them turned around and faced the veterans. Under Daves's arrangement, they were like being inspected by the veterans. Facing the gazes of so many veteran patrolmen, they couldn't help but feel nervous.

In this atmosphere, the old patrolmen's eyes became serious and they looked at the four newcomers one by one.

Eric, who was sitting at the back, felt nothing in his heart. This was an old routine. It was the same when he was a newcomer, and it was the same when newcomers came later.

He just looked at the two new female members whom he had never met before, with a hint of surprise in his eyes.

His guess was a little wrong. The new female recruit with short hair had a dark complexion and was a Latin American with an average appearance.
The new female bride with long brown hair does look quite good. She has both the softness of a woman and a heroic air. There is a hint of heroism between her eyebrows, and her eyes are firm and bright.

"This girl is pretty cool?" Eric thought with a little surprise, and he subconsciously looked around at the old hands.

Sure enough, there was some excitement among the old hands, and their eyes always stayed on this outstanding-looking female newcomer.

However, these old birds only paused for a moment, and most of them still focused their attention on the two male newcomers.

In response to this, Eric, who observed this, raised the corners of his mouth slightly. These experienced old birds were really real and sober. Compared with their own safety and lives, these old birds were obviously more concerned about strength rather than women.

Women will only affect the action and speed of drawing the gun, and their bullets may even hit themselves.

This was not outrageous. He had heard of a ridiculous incident in another police station where a female patrol officer encountered a conflict, drew her gun in panic and shot, but accidentally hit her partner.

At the same time, some patrolmen have already started families and careers, and female partners or female newcomers are really not within their options.

They are more concerned about whether their partners are powerful, strong, capable, and smart.
