Chapter 52 The First Attack

"Oh my God! What the hell is this thing?"

Shana, who was feeling much better by then, noticed that the two hadn't returned yet.

Holding her water cup, she walked over in confusion, only to find the two of them staring blankly at something.

Curious, he followed their gaze and froze, only to exclaim in surprise after a long while.

Her legs went weak and she almost fell to the ground again, but fortunately, Li An caught her with quick reflexes.

Natasha then looked away and let out a sigh of relief.

Looking at the two people behind him, one with a look of fear and the other with a look of worry, he couldn't help but clench his fist.

"Sisters, I think that in this situation, no matter what this rude thing that has come to visit us in the middle of the night is, we should gather everyone together first."

After hearing what he said, Ang Lee pondered for a moment and nodded in agreement.

Shana didn't object either, but she clung tightly to Li An's arm in fear.

"And we need weapons. Although we can't determine what it is from the marks, I don't think a lamb would have sharp claws..."

As the most highly educated member of the team, this knowledgeable and talented woman, Ang Lee possessed a far greater foundation of knowledge than these young people raised with a "happy education" mentality.

Although it's hard to imagine that an animal at this height would be found in its natural environment, the claw marks clearly indicate that it was definitely not an easy prey to encounter.

Her mind raced, and she thought of this hotel. As one of the top luxury hotels in Hawaii, it should have a full complement of security personnel.

"Maybe we should gather together first, then go to the front desk to look for guards. If we can't find any, at least we can get some weapons."

Natasha, however, had no idea what her friend had been thinking in such a short time.

However, her survival experience from her hometown in Siberia also taught her that when facing large wild animals, a gun is the best warning method.

Having often gone hunting with her father as a child, she was very proactive and quickly noticed the bow and arrows hanging high on the living room wall for decoration.

After some effort, I managed to remove it and discovered that although its design was quite ancient, it looked like something used by a primitive tribe.

But the bowstring was actually made of synthetic fiber.

The quality was surprisingly good. I then took the quiver from the side and found that there were still more than a dozen arrows, but they were without arrowheads.

However, if there is only one wooden shaft, the power of the bow and arrow will be greatly reduced.

Just as Natasha was feeling troubled, a hand suddenly reached out, causing her to look up in confusion.

It turned out to be Shana, who had somehow found a bunch of shiny metal pieces.

At that moment, he smiled and waved his hand, then took out a roll of tape with his other hand.

"Ta-da! Quick, let's see if it works!"

"Shana, where did you get this? You shouldn't be allowed to bring such a dangerous thing on a plane, right?"

Although she was saying it, Natasha's hands were moving at the same speed.

Upon inspection, the metal sheets were found to be made of very hard steel.

Moreover, its sharp edges, though not as sharp as knives, still pose a considerable threat when struck by arrows.

Seeing that she was already busy, Shana smiled smugly.

She raised her hand and patted the edge of her hot pants, a spot that looked empty.

"I bought these new punk pants with some embellishments because I thought they were sparkly, and I never expected they'd come in handy now!"

However, compared to their smooth sailing...

Ang Lee, on the other hand, faces numerous difficulties.

She first went to Jim's nearest room, knocked twice, and found no response. Then, somewhat anxiously, she pounded on the door.

There was still no response from inside the house.

Helpless, he gritted his teeth, took two steps back, and then slammed into the door with all his might.

Fortunately, the doors in these rooms are not very sturdy and only serve a decorative purpose.

With her forceful slam, the door lock broke, and she fell straight into the room.

"Jim! How are you? Jim, you... Shit!! You're still fucking asleep!"

Originally anxious, Ang Lee got up from the floor, only to find Jim lying sprawled on the bed the next moment.

There were also cans of beer arranged in a small pyramid on the bedside table next to it.

This scene needs no further explanation. I was so worried, thinking he had been attacked, but it turned out he had just secretly drunk himself into a stupor in the middle of the night.

Growing increasingly enraged, Jim strode to the bedside, grabbed a half-finished bottle of liquor, and poured it over the other man's face. The icy liquid jolted Jim awake instantly.

He sat up abruptly, wiped his face in a daze, and stared blankly at Li An standing at the head of his bed, asking a question.

"What's wrong? What are you doing here?"

"Shit! Something terrible has happened! Get up right now!"

Ang Lee had no time or mood to wait for him to snap out of his daze.

He grabbed the other person's clothes and dragged them into the living room.

Dragged haphazardly out of the room, I looked up and saw two people sitting on the sofa in the living room. I greeted them awkwardly.

"Shana, Natasha, you're both here? What happened?"

Jim, still a bit groggy from the hangover, almost fell over because he was dragged out. He quickly grabbed the sofa to steady himself.

He then sat down on the sofa.

He looked at the two people beside him who were fiddling with bows and arrows on the coffee table, feeling quite bewildered.

It seems that ever since I woke up this time, I haven't been able to understand what happened.

The two people on the other side glanced at him as he approached and then continued fiddling with the arrows in their hands. Natasha then explained without looking up.

"Jim, something terrible has happened! A huge, unidentified beast has entered the hotel, and nobody knows where it will come from..."

As he spoke, he picked up the arrow in his hand, squinted at it to see if it was aligned, and continued to say.

"...We need to gather together first, find some suitable weapons to protect ourselves, and then go to the security room on the first floor for help."

Hearing her explanation, Jim was still a little confused, but he accepted the situation.

After looking around, everyone realized that only the youngest, Karl, was missing, so they got up and headed to Karl's bedroom.

"I'll go get Carl, you guys go ahead with your work~"

After this exercise, he was mostly sober, at least not to the point of being unsteady on his feet.

They slowly made their way to Karl's bedroom on the outermost side.

Just as Jim raised his hand to knock on the door, it creaked open a crack in the wind.

This caused Jim's hand, which was about to knock on the door, to freeze in mid-air. Having watched many horror movies, he felt a bad premonition.

He swallowed hard, cautiously lowered his body, and slowly pushed open the door, then felt a cool, damp night breeze on his face.

When the door was fully pushed open, it was discovered that the room was dark, with only the cold moonlight illuminating the room.

The window next to the bed seemed to have been torn open by some enormous force; the metal frame was twisted, revealing an opening large enough for a calf to crawl in and out.

The room was covered in bloodstains from the bed to the floor, indicating that something terrible had happened there.

At that moment, Jim felt his heart pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of his throat.

As the night wind blew, I felt a chill run down my spine.

Looking at the twisted and deformed metal window frame, this was something no ordinary beast could do!
A thought involuntarily arose in my mind.

"Karl was attacked by some monster! Karl might be dead!"
