Chapter 182 Offense and Defense: How to Change Tactics?
"Right now, Team A is in a very passive position. Given their deficit in the second half, they need to find a breakthrough as soon as possible to narrow the gap."
However, due to their failure to win the crucial pistol round, the following rounds will be extremely difficult for them.
"That's right. For Team A, the most crucial thing right now is to seize every opportunity on the field during this phase. We know that NA is very good at suddenly using unconventional tactics after the opponent gains an advantage, or rather, they can create miracles through the strong individual abilities of their players."
"Therefore, under such circumstances, Team A needs to be able to extend this advantage throughout the round as soon as possible after gaining the upper hand, and establish sufficient control over the field."
It's worth noting that in the previous round, after gaining a significant advantage, they hesitated somewhat, or perhaps they weren't bold enough to take more control of the situation. After all, we could see that even when they were at a disadvantage, they were able to create space by relying on their strong breakthroughs and selfless spirit.
For Team A, I think if they want to gain more control of the game in the upcoming rounds, they need to be more decisive in crucial moments.
After losing the crucial pistol round again, Team A's morale suffered. For them, in the previous pistol round, they had maintained absolute control of the situation for most of the time.
Even under these circumstances, NA still managed to find an opportunity, and most importantly, it was almost entirely Li Limo's performance that changed the situation for them. Therefore, this outcome was the most unacceptable to them.
It's important to understand that both teams are top-tier teams and are very familiar with each other. So, especially when the skill gap is relatively small, and even though Team A conducted thorough research and analysis on NA, whom they considered their biggest opponent, and prepared tactical reserves before the match, they still encountered such a suffocating feeling in their first encounter. This must have been a very difficult situation for both the players and Team A's coaching staff.
"We need to play more decisively. In the previous round, we had many opportunities to end the game, but we failed to capitalize on them. The key is to avoid any psychological burden in the endgame, especially in 1v1 situations. This is something that my coach and I have repeatedly emphasized before the match and throughout today's game. We should not feel any pressure when facing A."
When facing them, you must maintain your best condition throughout the entire match, and under such circumstances, bring out your best performance and confidently handle every crucial round. In fact, every aim must be fully prepared beforehand; otherwise, significant problems could arise, leading to the round's defeat.
For Team A, at this point in the game, they cannot yet call a timeout for the second half. On one hand, although their loss in the last round was very unacceptable, they didn't actually have any major problems from start to finish, and even had many bright spots.
The reason they ultimately failed to win the round was because Team A relied on the individual abilities of their players, especially Li Mo, who crushed all their hopes. Under normal circumstances, Team A had followed the expected discipline and employed unconventional tactics, achieving great results, only to lose in this way.
While it's certainly hard to accept and very frustrating, it doesn't mean they made major mistakes in the pistol round. Because in such crucial moments of a match, making the best possible reaction is already extremely difficult; expecting extraordinary performance at that point is unrealistic.
"This round I want to try some more things at the front."
"No problem, we will provide you with assistance at key positions. If you can obtain enough information at the intersection, or even create a kill opportunity, then this round will not only open a breakthrough but also have a high chance of turning the tide."
Hearing that someone on your side wants to make a decisive attempt in the early stages, and actively engaging in some thought-provoking exchanges when the team is in a very difficult situation, especially bold and unconventional attempts.
In fact, Team A's commander not only felt some of the pressure relieved, but also thought it was a very good idea and mindset. It's important to understand that in such a disadvantageous situation, both the players and the team's core commander experience some degree of mental shift. If this mental shift isn't adjusted in time, it could easily translate into a decline in shooting skills.
Therefore, for Team A, in such a critical situation, the players must be able to open up new possibilities and put those ideas into practice in their own rounds.
"In this way, we can simultaneously provide the opponent with items and information from the mid lane and the second floor during the early rounds. However, it is crucial to remember not to invest too many items or expose too much of your position. In this round, without long spears and a large number of items, every choice we make is extremely important if we want to find opportunities or even create miracles. If our deceptive tactics in the early rounds come at a high cost, it will obviously be a losing proposition."
"If our first wave of items can put close-range pressure on them at the front, or if we can get information, then without a doubt, the pressure on our lone attackers at the intersection will be greatly reduced, and we will have a better chance to find an opportunity to make a move as soon as possible."
For Team A, the Desert Eagle they use to solo-poke the enemy in the next round is crucial. At this distance, the Desert Eagle can maximize its advantages and potentially deliver a fatal blow. Therefore, to cover the Desert Eagle's advance to the front point and create a psychological lapse in the opponent's guard, Team A needs to rely on the interference from other utility positions at the front point.
Upon arriving at this round, Team A immediately opted for a decisive forward push, and Team NA quickly received the information. They knew that Team A, lacking funds in this round, needed to proactively gain an advantageous position. However, given that the opponent might choose to close the distance and utilize their weapon advantage, and might even attempt a desperate gamble from the front, Team NA, after sensing the opponent's information, chose a very disciplined retreat.
"We see that NA is pushing forward towards the mid lane and A, and the second floor. We decisively chose to give up the front point and defend from the second position."
In fact, I think Na's discipline is something all teams should learn from. After all, we all know that if the opponent has no economy in this round, they will most likely make unconventional attempts.
Even if the opposing team's move was a smokescreen tactic to create confusion, NA still needs to take basic precautions. Otherwise, if they are killed immediately or lose too much information, it would be a very unacceptable outcome for NA, especially since they have already engaged in combat this round.
"However, looking at this round, after NA gave up the front point position immediately, we can clearly see that there is a problem. At this time, the player from Team A who was scouting in the banana lane had already reached a relatively deep position. If he were to push further in now, he would be very close to somebody who was defending the front point of NA at point B."
If somebody receives a lot of false information, his defenses will lower, making him more vulnerable to being caught out and killed by the opponent at such a distance.
If Team A manages to secure a kill at the B point this round, NA's entire defense of B point will crumble instantly. For Team A, all their initial strategies have paid off handsomely, while for NA, it's a result that's difficult to accept.
As expected, Team A boldly pushed forward and attempted to reach the Banana point in this round. NA was clearly unable to judge the situation or make corresponding defenses immediately. Under these circumstances, Somebody sensed a lot of information from the middle lane and A2, so he wanted to peek out to see if he could get information about the Banana point and gain some initiative for his team.
It's fair to say that his peek gave Team A an opportunity. The moment the opponent aimed, Somebody was shot in the head and killed.
Therefore, for NA, having gained this advantage, they are now in a relatively passive position regarding B site, including the entire B site and the CT position. After they eliminated the defenders at the B site's front, it's fair to say their defense of B site has failed.
In this situation, Team A can obviously quickly move all four players to point B. In this case, NA can only try to find opportunities from CT's position, because they gave up their position in the middle lane immediately, so there is no opportunity to quickly rotate to another point.
"Don't rush. Let's have two people rotate back from the CT position and two people flank the middle. We're already outnumbered at this point. If we don't find more firing lines, and everyone rotates back from the CT position, they'll have the advantage of numbers with their long guns, making it difficult for us to utilize our weapon advantage."
"Once our mid-lane firing line reaches the intersection of point B, both sides should simultaneously provide utility to clear out the enemy on both flanks. Keep in mind that with long-range weapons, armor, and utility, we have a significant advantage over them from the start. Even if they gain control of the bomb site and plant the C4, putting us under pressure in terms of numbers and time, this advantage from the beginning isn't enough to change the course of the game."
Li Mo wasn't under much pressure facing this round, as they respected their opponents. After winning the pistol round, they acquired four rifles. Even though somebody's rifle at point B was lost and given to the opposing team, they now had a comprehensive lead in firepower and utility. Therefore, Li Mo was very confident in their ability to defend this round.
"They probably won't all rush back to defend this round because they know very well that if they all rush back from the CT position when they are outnumbered, it will obviously give us an opportunity."
Because we now have the equipment we need, and they know that, plus we've acquired a long spear, they'll definitely choose a more cautious approach to cause us as much trouble and pressure as possible during our counter-attack.
Therefore, having understood this, we must apply pressure from the front lines to slow their advance. Since we already have a numerical advantage, there's no need to rush the fight; the one in a hurry should be the enemy.
For Team A, the outcome of this round isn't that important, but if they can turn the tide, they'll have a huge breathing space in terms of the score.
