Chapter 4: Dispatching demons to assist the main body

"Qingning, have you ever left the desert area?" Azir suddenly asked. Qingning was the name of this fox demon.

She didn't know why the Tsar asked this, but she answered truthfully, "Your Majesty, I have never truly left this desert. I belong to the Fennec fox clan. I have lived with this yellow sand since birth and have long been accustomed to the wind, sand, and scorching sun here."

Azir's eyes were still fixed on her, as if he wanted to see through her soul.

After a moment, he slowly spoke, his voice carrying a hint of unquestionable majesty: "Then, are you willing to leave here and go to a distant place to complete a task for me?"

Qing Ning's heart trembled slightly, but she almost didn't hesitate and immediately replied, "I am willing to go. My current cultivation and knowledge are all given by the master. You have allowed me to see a wider world, and I am willing to share your worries."

Her voice was firm and respectful, but there was a lingering sense of unease within her.

The fox clan was known for their deep scheming and cunning tactics, and Qingning was no exception. However, facing the Tsar's request, she knew she couldn't refuse, nor did she dare to refuse.

In the demonic world, emotions are a luxury; strength and loyalty are the rules of survival. Furthermore, her future is closely tied to the Tsar; if she wants to make further progress, she cannot do without his protection and guidance.

Azir seemed quite satisfied with her answer and nodded slightly before continuing, "I need you to go across the Eurasian continent to a country called Country Z. You are going to Bo City and find a human named Qin Xiaonan. Give him these magic tools to help him practice and keep him safe."

A hint of doubt flashed in Qingning's eyes, but she didn't ask any more questions, just listened quietly.

Before he finished speaking, the sun disc behind Azir slowly rotated, emitting a dazzling light. Two beams of light streaked through the air like meteors, plunging directly into Qingning's body. One beam transformed into a disc-shaped mark, imprinted between her eyebrows; the other morphed into three sandy-yellow figures, hovering in her palm.

"This mark is my means of monitoring you." Azir's voice was cold and authoritative. "If you dare to commit any act of disloyalty, I can take your life at any time."

Qingning's breathing hitched slightly, but she quickly regained her composure and lowered her head in response, "I understand."

Azir continued, "And these three little sand figures were created by me with divine power. If you encounter an enemy you cannot match, you can draw upon the power within the mark and infuse it into these figures. They will aid you and help you overcome adversity."

Qing Ning looked at the little yellow sand figure in her palm, feeling both awe and a hint of anticipation. When Azir had fought the original Lord of the Sahara, he had summoned many powerful desert soldiers. She had witnessed such power from afar.

She raised her head and said with a firm gaze, "Master, rest assured. I will do my best to complete the task you have assigned me."

Azir nodded slightly and waved his hand: "Go."

Qingning bowed respectfully and turned to leave. Her figure gradually faded in the desert wind, as if blending into the yellow sand. She knew the road ahead was filled with unknowns and dangers, but she had no choice.

For survival, for strength, she must embark on this journey.

When Qingning's figure disappeared at the end of the desert, Azir's gaze was still gazing into the distance, as if penetrating the endless yellow sand and reaching that distant land.

In the next few days, Azir would summon one or two demons from the depths of the desert every day and give them the same mission as Qingning - to go to the distant city of Bo.

Some demons, like Qingning, are masters of disguise and concealment. They can transform into human form, temporarily masking their demonic aura and blending undetected into human society. Others excel at hiding and stealth. They rely not on disguise but on their own natural talents, avoiding the bustle and bustle of human cities and choosing secluded paths and wilderness.

Some monsters are known for their speed and can travel thousands of miles in a very short time.

……

Azir knew very well that the journey from Africa across the Eurasian continent to Bo City in Country Z was full of unknown dangers.

Human mages should not be underestimated, especially those experienced demon hunters, who can easily detect the aura of demons. Even if these demons have their own talents, there is no guarantee that every one of them can reach their destination smoothly.

Because of this, Azir decided to send several more groups of demons to Bo City to assist the main body.

No one can guarantee that every demon can reach its destination safely. Some may be discovered and destroyed by human wizards on the way, some may encounter accidents when crossing the border, and some may even flee midway out of fear.

But no matter what, as long as there is a demon who can successfully reach Bo City and bring the resources, he can be helped immediately.

At the same time, in order to ensure the loyalty and efficiency of these demons, Azir would personally imprint the divine mark of the sun disc on each demon before it set off.

This mark served not only as a means of surveillance but also as an invisible deterrent. Like a sword hanging over their heads, it constantly reminded these demons that their life and death depended on Azir's whim.

Azir knew that these demons were not entirely loyal. They might obey out of fear, or betray out of greed or fear.

If they escaped midway, although he would lose some strength, it would not be the worst case scenario.

What really worried him was that if these demons successfully reached Bo City, they would escape his control due to the distance and even pose a threat to his main body's safety. In that case, it would be a disaster, so the divine power mark step was necessary.

Most of the demons sent out are monarch-level beings.

Their strength is strong enough to deal with most emergencies. However, there are also a few commander-level demons with unique talents. Although their cultivation is slightly lower, they possess some unique abilities that can play an unexpected role in certain situations.

Azir did not send out any emperor-level demons, not only because the number of emperor-level demons is scarce, but also because once their whereabouts are exposed, they will inevitably attract the attention of human forbidden spell mages.

If they intervene, the power of the country will likely be mobilized, which will cause big trouble.

After Tsar Azir arranged the aid to the main body, he started another plan. He wanted to expand the demon empire. The first target was naturally the Rub' al Khali Desert on the Arabian Peninsula, which was closest to him.

He decided to expand his demon empire step by step to the desert of Country Z, and eventually let the light of the sun disk shine on any desert on the blue planet.
