Chapter 12 Enter
Li Chengze rested his neck against the cold back of the chair, the file between his knuckles shone pale blue under the desk lamp. He came to Binhai mainly to capture the mixed-race criminal codenamed "Butcher".
He always felt that the two cases, the elevated road and the convenience store, were related to "The Butcher," and now he just needed evidence.
Li Chengze looked at the file photo of the "butcher". The blond middle-aged man was smiling with his head tilted in the surveillance camera. His deformed fingers were being pulled out of the chest of the convenience store clerk. The coagulated blood beads hung on the fingertips like a ruby that was about to fall.
"Meatsmith" is a dangerous person, his words can modify human flesh.
He closed his eyelids, and seventeen murder scenes unfolded in his memory one after another: the ballet dancer hanging upside down from the dome of the Berlin Opera House, the statue of the Virgin Mary cast in flesh and blood in the slums of Cape Town, the thousand-eyed Buddha head floating on the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok... Each corpse was a horrific work of art fabricated by the butcher using words.
Even though Li Chenze had seen many crazy mixed-race criminals, he still felt palpitations when he saw the pictures of the crime scene committed by the "Butcher".
Over the past three years, he has always been able to escape the Executive Bureau's tight net laid across six continents, and soon he will enter another country and commit another murder.
Due to the horrific nature of the case, three super AIs, Norma at headquarters, Pangu in China, and Kaguya in Japan, joined forces to investigate. They ultimately located the Butcher in Binhai, China.
This time he was able to evade domestic border inspection and the Sky Eye, which shows that his words are indeed very effective in escaping.
Li Chengze then turned his attention to the two cases in Binhai. Test reports indicated that the blood-stained fabric came from a school uniform factory that supplied uniforms nationwide, including thirteen middle schools in Binhai alone. As the investigation deepened, ten of these companies were eliminated, leaving only three: Binhai Experimental High School, the Sixth Senior High School, and Shilan Middle School, an aristocratic school located very close to the crime scene.
There are suspects in all three companies, among which Shilan is the most suspected. The current idea is to control all the suspects and then question them one by one.
"boom!"
Li Chengze's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a door opening. A black-clad specialist rushed in. "Commander, we've detected that the area around Shilan Middle School has suddenly been covered by some kind of area. We suspect it's the 'Dragon Ruins'!"
Li Chengze's eyes suddenly locked onto the first person on the suspect list - Shilan Middle School, Class 2-3, Grade 12, Gu Yi.
"Arrange for the police to clear the way and notify Professor Schneider. I need to speak to him." He picked up a long sword with rows of dragons engraved on the scabbard. "By the way, bring all of Gu Yi's information to the car. I need to review it again."

Jiang Fan's eyes saw the corridor wall split into two realms. Sunlight on the left shone a warm jade-like luster on the tiles, while torrential rain on the right blasted silver-blue arcs across the glass windows. Groups of uniformed figures slithered through the cracks, yet no one noticed this absurd montage.
"Is this the otherworldly world from Silent Hill?" Lu Mingfei took a half step back while holding the fire extinguisher, and his lower back hit the metal shell of the fire hydrant.
He saw his trembling fingertips glowing alternately white in the two lights. "Were you swallowed into this kind of hellhole before?"
Gu Yi turned his head, his eyelashes casting a strange double shadow where they met. His left eye reflected the clear sky, while his right eye was filled with torrential rain. "Nibelungen," he uttered the word, and the sound of a baby crying in the wind came from the other side of the rain curtain. "I'm going in."
Lu Mingfei waved his hands helplessly in the air, as if trying to grasp at some invisible thread. "What if this is a trap? Should I call the police first? Or ask the fire department to break down the wall?"
"Do you think ordinary people can see this?" Gu Yi pointed at the boy with glasses who was walking by with a workbook in his arms. The test paper under his arm brushed against the edge of the rain, but the pages were dry as ever.
Lu Mingfei dug his nails deep into his palms, the light and shadow on either side of the crack splitting into ice and fire in his pupils. A boy running by with a basketball bumped into his shoulder, and this ordinary touch suddenly became a lifesaver.
"Take me in!" He suddenly grabbed Gu Yi's clothes, "Two people are always better than one."
"You even need half a class to run a thousand meters in physical education to catch your breath. I can't protect you and fight at the same time."
Lu Mingfei gripped the fire extinguisher canister, the cold metal feeling creeping up his palm and across his body. He wanted to use it as a projectile, to offer to help with the surveillance, but his throat somehow remained blocked. The bell suddenly rang in the hallway, and the draft brushed against the back of his sweaty neck, almost like the cool breath of some living being.
Gu Yi suddenly sighed, "Stay here and wait for me to come back. If I don't come back..."
"Just burn the latest game console for you?" Lu Mingfei forced a smile that was uglier than crying.
Gu Yi was stunned for half a second, then suddenly reached out and pressed his shoulder. Lu Mingfei felt those five fingers burning like a branding iron.
"I must come back alive." Lu Mingfei regretted it right after he said it. These words sounded like a flag.
Gu Yi's sneakers rolled over the sharp crack in space-time. The moment the rubber on the soles touched the rain, a thick, asphalt-like shadow suddenly climbed up his trouser legs, as if countless dark tentacles were pulling him towards the abyss.
In Lu Mingfei's pupils, the figure was being torn apart by two completely different gravity. The left side of the clothes was ironed straight by the sun, but the right side of the fabric was soaked with the lead gray of the rainstorm.
He saw Gu Yi looking back. The boy's profile was shining coldly like bronze on the other side of the rain curtain, and two clusters of golden flames deep in his pupils were burning through the rainstorm.
The clamor in the corridor suddenly grew harsh. The hairs on the back of Lu Mingfei's neck suddenly stood up. He saw a boy in a burgundy suit leaning against a bulletin board. He was clearly standing in the middle of the crowd, yet it was as if he was isolated by an invisible barrier, and no one noticed him.
The boy tilted his head and smiled like a cat playing with a mouse, his molten gold pupils flashing with sneer.
Lu Mingfei's fire extinguisher smashed to the ground, startling a passing girl so much that she jumped half a step away. When he looked up again, all that remained on the bulletin board was the monthly exam ranking list, blown by the wind.
