Chapter 57 Guaranteed
Hetian jade is a natural mineral. Because it contains very low levels of radioactive elements, its radiation value is relatively low and relatively stable: around 0.07-0.08 microns.

But no matter how low it is, there is a limit. It is impossible to be four times lower than the average, or even lower than ancient paintings on paper?
This is not just nonsense, it's simply impossible.

Therefore, there was something wrong with this jade. Whether it was the first appraisal or the second appraisal, there were still problems.

But the appraisal report was taken away so blatantly?

The section chief and the female police officer stared wide-eyed, but Lin Sicheng stared straight ahead at Guan Xingmin.

There’s nothing wrong with giving guidance and helping, but you can’t let us take the blame... That’s what Lin Sicheng meant.

Of course, it's also because it has no stamp, so it has no effect. Otherwise, love is what it wants.

Guan Xingmin hesitated for a moment, took the folder from the section chief, and also pulled out the second page.

Lin Sicheng still didn't move: Director Guan, please hurry up...

Guan Xingmin was at a loss for words: No one must have taught him this, how could Lin Sicheng know it?

He sighed helplessly and winked again.

The section chief understood immediately: There are three copies of the re-examination report. In addition to the two copies for him and Xiao Zhu (the policewoman), there is another copy with the deputy section chief who is accompanying several professors?

Since we want to destroy the body, don’t we destroy it completely?

He also sighed, walked over and whispered with the deputy section chief, and took back the third copy.

Without exception, all of it ended up in Lin Sicheng's pocket.

A shady deal was completed so quietly?

Wang Qizhi's eyes lit up: With such calmness, especially such shamelessness, it would be a pity not to join the system.

What would happen if Lin Sicheng didn’t do this today?
Of course, we are in the same boat with the provincial and municipal forensics centers.

There is no doubt that when the verdict is overturned, those two thieves will definitely say: Look, leaders, even the guidance group of Xida University has not identified it...

This meant that the guidance group had fallen into a trap, and then, unsurprisingly, Wang Qizhi was laughed at: You are the team leader, if you are not responsible, who will be responsible?

So, Lin Sicheng was trying to make up for Wang Qizhi's mistake.

Wang Qizhi breathed a sigh of relief, took the folder from Guan Xingmin, and began to flip through it page by page.

He first looked at the instrument test report:
I've done Raman spectroscopy at the provincial department, and the main component of the color exudation was calcium carbonate... no problem.

I have made a UV detection needle: no staining phenomenon... no problem.

Infrared spectroscopy was performed: the degree of loss of jade hydroxyl groups is normal.

I have used a high-power microscope: the machining marks are obvious, and the cracks are caused by natural thermal expansion and contraction...which is normal.

It just so happens that I have never done thermoluminescence.

But it’s normal not to do it: Jade is not ceramics and needs to be fired at high temperature. What’s the point of measuring the last time it was heated?
Do we need to study the origin of Hetian jade?
Therefore, we cannot blame the certification agency for negligence...

Secretly guessing, Guan Xingmin whispered, "Should we ask Professor Yu to come over and take a look?"

Lin Sicheng shook his head.

Professor Yu must have been absolutely confident to sign the re-examination report. If you ask him to take a look now, he'll definitely say the same thing: It's true, absolutely true.

If you invite someone from school at the last minute, it will be too late and it will make a fool of itself.

He thought for a while and said, "Let's take a look first!" As he spoke, Lin Sicheng reached out and took out a flashlight and a magnifying glass from Guan Xingmin's white coat pocket.

Wang Qizhi and Guan Xingmin also came over.

With just one glance, the three people knew why the two-level authentication center identified it as authentic and why Professor Yu was so sure.
A typical Hetian mutton-fat jade seed material, or a typical chicken-bone white: As expected, the jade is slightly dry, the overall jade is white, and it reflects a luster like chicken bones.

This is because the jade has been buried in an alkaline water environment for a long time, causing the minerals to dissolve and the jade to calcify.

Let’s look at the patina: the jade surface is oily, and the orange peel texture is natural and fine. This is caused by the accelerated disintegration of jade under a constant thermal expansion and contraction environment.

The carving is rough and vigorous, with chisel marks on the lion's head and back, where the hair structure is concentrated and the lines are dense, appearing to be connected and not disconnected. This shows that the carving was not polished at all after it was completed.

However, the patterns are clearly layered, and various techniques such as hollowing, relief, and embossing are integrated into one, with a coarseness yet a fineness, and a balance of hardness and softness. This is exactly in line with the characteristics of the era when nomadic peoples were combined with the traditional culture of the Central Plains during the Mongol Yuan Dynasty.

To put it simply: this jade was buried long enough, the unearthed site is far enough north, the summers are hot enough, the winters are cold enough, and the local soil is highly alkaline... It's just right, it fits the climate and soil environment of Yulin.

Does this mean that the age is fine, the site of excavation is fine, and the craftsmanship characteristics are even fine?

Including instrument detection, it seems that except for the radiation value being too low, everything else is fine?
Wang Qizhi and Guan Xingmin looked at each other in surprise: Professor Yu’s report was submitted too early?

of course not.

Because the radiation value of Hetian jade is very stable, the upper and lower range is at most around 0.01 micro. How come this piece is a full 0.05 less?

Of course it burned up.

To ask why it is burned: because high-quality imitation ancient jade must be processed at high temperatures to imitate the deep cracks similar to those of ancient jade.

In addition, there is a trick to imitate chicken bone white ancient jade: simmering the head to imitate secretion spots.

The general method is to coat the jade with lime, bury it in sawdust and burn it in a closed place for 2 days. After burning, the jade will appear chicken bone white jade with irregular grayish white secretion spots, and at the same time produce fine fire cracks.

But there is a flaw: the jade surface is too dry, without any oiliness, and it feels rough to the touch.

But it is not difficult to solve: put the jade into the fat layer of a living sheep, dog, or even a living cow. It will take a year at most, or five or six months at most, and the patina produced will be more real than that produced by artificial grinding for ten years.

At the same time, the fire cracks will present a bumpy texture similar to orange peel... This piece of jade is most likely processed in this way.

But the question arises again: no matter how realistic the imitation is, this jade is still a fake. How did it deceive Raman, infrared spectroscopy, and high-power microscope detection?
Subconsciously, Guan Xingmin raised his head and stared at Lin Sicheng: "How did it happen?"

Lin Sicheng blinked: "How should I know?"

"You don't know, how dare you take away the re-examination report?"

The same logic as last time: he was not sure whether there were radioactive elements in the backflow kettle, so how could he dare to send the two "Hong Kong businessmen" to the hospital?
It can't be that Lin Sicheng wants to go to jail?

Guan Xingmin urged in a low voice: "Hurry up, I'm really unsure!"

Helping Lin Sicheng destroy evidence in front of his colleagues made him an ironclad criminal to the Municipal Bureau. If he didn't give his superiors a satisfactory answer, would their leaders let him off?
Lin Sicheng sighed: "Soaked in alkaline water!"

Guan Xingmin was stunned: "Is it that simple?"

"It's not that simple, because there are many steps involved, but I can guarantee that it's just soaking in water..."

After a pause, Lin Sicheng pointed at the paperweight and said, "Absolutely one hundred percent!"

Guan Xingmin was cheered up: We have known each other for so long, but when has he ever seen Lin Sicheng make such a full promise?
