Chapter 25 25. Escape
Finrad's Church.

Since the residents here were relocated, the church has been used as a place to accommodate the wounded, and a group of wounded people who were poisoned by blood were also tied up in separate compartments.

Instead of giving up on these people, the pastor notified their relatives, hoping that one or two of them could be rescued.

Today, the smell of blood in the church was several times stronger than usual.

Wounded people were constantly being sent in, and most of them were seriously injured.

"Uhhhh, let me go!"

Without the suppression of holy light for a long time, the patients suffering from blood poisoning have become increasingly agitated.

Trainee priest Marvin held down a struggling patient with force, and his companions cooperated to tie the rope tightly.

"This won't work. We still need Holy Light to suppress it. Where's Pastor Grann?"

The companion glanced at the screaming patients around him and shook his head:

"They're still treating the wounded outside. Two more seriously injured people just arrived. The pastor may not have enough energy to help them."

"I'll ask."

When Marvin came outside, he saw the priest stuffing a soldier's intestines back into his body with one hand and casting a healing spell to keep him alive with the other.

After the soldier's injuries were finally stabilized, Marvin stepped forward and said to the pastor:

"Reverend Grann, the blood poison patients must be suppressed with Holy Light, otherwise they may not be able to hold on."

When Grann turned around, Marvin noticed that his eyes no longer had the luster they once had, and he looked exhausted.

This is a sign of magic overdraft.

Marvin felt that there was probably no Holy Light magic.

Sure enough, Grann said with a look of pity:
“Marvin, go in with your sword and help those who are dying.

I can't abandon these people who can definitely be saved for the sake of the blood poisoning patients who have little hope.

I will bear any consequences."

"Yes……"

Picking up a soldier's sword from the wall, Marvin returned to the compartment.

There were a few more people going crazy.

When his companions saw him coming back with a sword, they understood what he meant and walked out without being able to bear to watch.

Walking up to the man who was struggling the most violently, Marvin took a deep breath.

He knew this man, the captain of a patrol team. He became like this after accidentally drinking tampered stream water during a mission.

"I'm sorry, may Ixion, the Lord of Light, save your soul."

The long sword pierced the neck, ending the captain's suffering.

Marvin sighed and moved on to the next person.

This is a young female adventurer who was said to have been attacked by a bat while doing a commission.

Half of her eyes were already dyed red, which was a sign of complete transformation and also the most painful stage.

But she clenched her teeth and didn't scream, just let out a muffled groan.

Marvin was filled with admiration.

It's just a pity.

The female adventurer smelled the blood on Marvin's sword and did not resist. She just closed her eyes and trembled slightly, preparing to meet her tragic end.

"May Ixion, the Lord of Light, save your soul."

boom--

The door was pushed open, and the sudden change caused Marvin's sword to freeze in mid-air.

The man was wearing a tattered cloak. When he saw the female adventurer, he rushed over like crazy and knocked Marvin down.

"What are you crazy about? I'm helping them solve the problem..."

Marvin thought the visitor had misunderstood something, so he stood up, holding his waist and trying to drive him away.

But when he saw what was in the man's hand, he was stunned.

"Anti-rebirth potion!"

The man in the cloak was naturally Dylan. He paid no attention to what Marvin said, but simply watched his daughter in pain. He took out the potion with his good right hand and carefully fed it to her.

"dad?"

"Don't be afraid, Bella. Daddy is here. This is a potion that can save you. You will be fine."

Bella seemed to be unable to believe that her father would appear at this time, but she still drank it obediently.

As the drug entered her body, Bella felt a tingling sensation all over her body.

"what!"

The sudden intensification of pain made Bella scream for a moment, and then she fainted.

"Hey, what's going on? Is there something wrong with the potion? What should I do?"

Dylan was completely panicked. If this only hope was false... then he must go back and kill the whole family of that goatee man!
Seeing this, Marvin, who knew what was going on, hurriedly explained:
"Don't worry, this is a normal phenomenon caused by the anti-regeneration potion. To transform the changed part back, you will naturally go through the pain again.

It's okay if she faints, everything will be fine after she wakes up."

"Really, really?"

Dylan grabbed Marvin's hand with such force that Marvin, a trainee priest, gritted his teeth in pain.

"Really, really! Let me go!"

Realizing his mistake, Dylan quickly let go and apologized awkwardly.

"Never mind... I understand you."

After saying that, Marvin picked up the sword on the ground, walked towards another patient who was about to transform, and continued to complete his task - not everyone is so lucky as to turn danger into safety.

Bella frowned at this time, as if she could feel the pain even in her sleep.

Dylan stroked her face gently, tears in his eyes.

He finally saved his daughter.

The shouting and screaming outside was almost inaudible. There were not many vampires attacking compared to the soldiers, and they just took advantage of the sneak attack.

The manager here seemed to be quite capable. Before Dylan came in, he saw that he had already organized soldiers outside the church, formed a team and started to fight back.

Dylan himself was only allowed in after his face was smeared with blood to cover up the mycelium.

Order will be restored here soon...

"Lucky girl, you two must be very affectionate, to be rushing into the village in such a situation."

After killing all the agitated patients, Marvin started to make small talk. He now needed to find someone to chat with to relieve his psychological pressure.

After hearing this, Dylan seemed to remember something. He stood up in a panic and ran out.

"Ai, ai?"

This made Marvin look confused. He didn't have to run away even if he didn't want to chat, right?
Dylan rushed out of the church and looked around, making sure that there was no trace of the vampire and the church was no longer in danger.

He slipped out of the village before the soldiers could fully restore order.

It’s not that he doesn’t want to see his daughter wake up, he’s just scared.

He moved his left hand which had regained consciousness. The mycelium fused with the flesh and blood at the wound reminded him that he had already been alienated.

It’s not that he’s afraid that his daughter won’t accept him, quite the opposite.

Just as the trainee pastor said, they have a deep father-daughter relationship.

So deep that even if Bella knew that her father had become like this, she would stand by him without hesitation.

And this is exactly what he fears.

It is only a matter of time before his abnormality is discovered, and it is still unknown whether he will live or die when the judgment is made.

Bella has outstanding talents and a bright future, but Dylan cannot accept that she would destroy that future for him.

He had to stay away from Bella.

But where can he go now?
Dylan even thought that maybe it would be best for him to find a place to end his life.

But people still desire to live. He would risk his life for his daughter, and now that his daughter is safe, he can't bear to sacrifice his own life.

If possible, he would like to hide somewhere and occasionally ask about Bella to know whether she is doing well.

After much thought, Dylan decided to go to a place first. He felt that he could find a way to survive there.
