Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker

Chapter 7 Don't Call Me a Staff Maker

Chapter 7 Don't Call Me a Staff Maker
The Hogwarts Express is an old steam train that is slow and not very comfortable. Its only advantage is that it allows passengers to fully enjoy the scenery along the way.

Of course, these are what Xi Lun heard from other wizards. As for what exactly happened, he would know soon.

Xi Lun didn't arrive early, and many of the private rooms were already full.

Finally, he found an empty compartment near the rear of the train.

"We're lucky." Xi Lun took out his wand, pointed it at the suitcase, and lifted it up slightly.

"Wingardium Leviosa..."

The suitcase floated up in a strange posture, and after crawling for a distance with difficulty, it was finally pushed onto the luggage rack by Xilun.

"It should be ~Levi-Osa, your pronunciation and pausing are wrong."

The sudden sound startled Xilun. A little brown-haired girl pushed open the door of the box from outside, walked in and sat down on the seat opposite.

Following behind her was a timid, round-faced boy.

"Hello, my name is Hermione Granger and this is Neville Longbottom," the girl said.

"Hello, my name is Ciarán Ollivander," Ciarán said.

"We were looking for a location and happened to see you using the Levitation Charm when we passed by here." Hermione spoke in a rapid-fire manner. "I tried it too, and it worked quite well... I mean, I've memorized the entire "Standard Book of Spells: Elementary" and bought a few extra reference books. What about you?"

At the end of her speech, her voice became much louder and her tone sounded a bit arrogant.

"I didn't memorize it, and I don't think freshmen need to waste time memorizing all the textbooks when they enter school." Xi Lun said bluntly.

Hermione was stunned for a moment, obviously not expecting Xiren to say that.

The scene became a little awkward. Neville tried desperately to say something to ease the slightly stiff atmosphere, but he didn't know what to say and was anxious.

But he was obviously overthinking it. Neither Xi Lun nor Hermione took this little episode to heart.

Xi Lun didn't care, but Hermione was used to it.

"I'm alone here. If you don't mind, we can go together."

"Thank you," Hermione said. She had no intention of leaving at all because the train was about to depart and it would be difficult to find another empty compartment if she left.

After putting away his luggage, Xi Lun took out a thick hardcover book and began to read it carefully by the window.

There were many parents outside sending their children to school, and they were making a lot of noise, but Xilun didn't care.

He watched very seriously, and occasionally took out a wooden stick and scraped it a few times with the knife he carried with him.

I don’t know when, the train had already left the platform, leaving the wheat fields and villages far behind.

But the box did not become quiet because of this.

The main reason was Hermione. She had been talking non-stop since she sat down, and had been telling Neville what books she had read during the holidays and how many she had memorized.

Chirping, like a macaw showing off its feathers.

Although he had known Hermione's personality for a long time, it was only after experiencing it personally that Xi Lun realized that she was really a bit annoying at this moment.

He also didn't understand why Hermione could talk about a few basic spells for two hours without getting tired of it.

What was even more terrifying was Neville, who kept nodding in agreement without showing any impatience at all.

Xi Lun thought they would go all the way to Hogwarts like this, but he soon found out that he was wrong.

Hermione's attention was still on him.

"What book are you reading..." She seemed to have wanted to ask this for a long time, and stretched her neck to look towards Xilun.

"Perhaps we can discuss this. I also bought a lot of reference books, such as 'Modern History of Magic', 'The Rise and Fall of Dark Magic', and 'Important Magical Events of the 20th Century'. What's this one of yours..."

"Snapped!"

When Hermione looked over, Xi Lun subconsciously closed the book in his hand to block her view.

This almost inhumane behavior also made Hermione's face change noticeably for the first time. She looked a little angry. "I won't read it for free. I can also lend you my book..."

"No, you misunderstood."

Xi Lun quickly shook his head and explained, "In fact, this is a magical book. If you rashly read its contents, it may cause you some trouble."

"A magic...book?"

Judging from Hermione's expression, she obviously didn't believe it.

How can I not read the book?

Besides, it’s not like she hasn’t been to the bookstore in Diagon Alley before, and she can read all the books there.

"He, he's right." Looking at Hermione's expression, Neville helped to explain.

"There are many books in the magical world that cannot be read casually." Although his voice was low, the expression on his face was serious and he looked very solemn.

"I heard from my grandma that someone once read a cursed book and could only speak one word per second afterwards. I don't know if it's true."

"It's true." Xi Lun said softly, "In fact, I have seen that person."

"Have you seen it?" Hermione's eyes widened and her voice became high and shrill.

She looked at Xi Lun, then at the book, and suddenly leaned back, pressing herself against the wall of the box.

She didn't want to be able to speak only one word per second, that would be too scary.

"You're overthinking it. This isn't the book." Xi Lun picked up the book and shook it.

There were two crossed wands painted on the cover of the book, and the words were blurred and faded, showing that it had been around for a long time.

Hermione could just barely make out the word "Olivanders" on the wand.

Wait, Ollivander...

"I remember!" she suddenly shouted, startling Neville.

But Hermione didn't notice this. She stared at Ciron and said, "I've seen you before. In the wand shop. You were standing next to Mr. Ollivander."

"You're really amazing, you actually remember that the wand seller is called Ollivander." Siren said lightly, "If your memory was a little better, you might even remember my self-introduction just now."

"Remember? Ciarán Ollivander."

Hermione blushed again.

Just now she was so focused on correcting Xilun's magic that she didn't pay any attention to his self-introduction.

"Of course I remember... I just... I can't recall it..." Hermione explained with gritted teeth.

Xi Lun didn't hold her tightly, but just moved his shoulders and neck.

Those people were not exaggerating. The Hogwarts Express was so uncomfortable that it made him feel uncomfortable.

Across from him, Hermione had been staring at him, her mouth open, as if she wanted to say something but was hesitant.

But this hesitation didn't last long.

When Xi Lun was about to continue reading...

"So, you are also a staff maker?"

Xilun's expression changed slightly, and he looked at the two people opposite him seriously and earnestly.

"If possible, I hope you can use a more formal name - Wand Maker."

"What's the difference?"

Xi Lun didn't answer immediately. After hesitating for a moment, he said, "Just think of it as the difference between a cat and a tabby cat."
