Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 30: Peaked Caps on Teeth
Chapter 30: Peaked Caps on Teeth
To be honest, Xilun was actually a little confused. He stood there for a second before he reacted.
His original plan was to open the door first to divert the hatred, and then take advantage of the chaos to find an opportunity to escape.
After all, the three-headed dog and the troll are both big guys, and I am just a small one, so there is a high possibility that I will be ignored.
But he didn't expect the giant monster to cooperate so well, so he just rushed in.
It seems there is no need to take advantage of the chaos now.
Hearing the deafening roars and growls coming from behind the door, as well as the chaotic footsteps downstairs, Xi Lun grabbed the Bowtruckle that crawled out of the door lock and ran away.
A moment later, someone came.
Snape was the first to rush over, running all the way to the locked door, followed closely by Professor McGonagall, and Quirrell brought up the rear.
The door was pulled open forcefully, and the next second, the smell of blood mixed with stench hit me in the face.
Especially when he saw the scene behind the door, even Snape, who had been dealing with large amounts of rat spleens and leech juice for years, quickly turned pale and his stomach churned.
Quirrell took one look and immediately vomited all over the floor, vomiting and unable to stop.
Professor McGonagall was fine. She had witnessed even more tragic scenes before. Compared to that, the scene before her was nothing. Although her hands were shaking a little, she quickly calmed down.
Professor McGonagall pursed her lips tightly, raised her wand, and more than a dozen thick iron chains tightly wrapped around the three-headed dog, hanging it up.
"Severus!" Professor McGonagall shouted.
Snape nodded and pulled out half of the troll.
"Ugh..." Quirrell vomited even more exaggeratedly, with tears and snot all over his face.
Professor McGonagall had an undisguised look of disgust on her face. They were all professors, so why didn't she just not help? Why did she make things more complicated?
She wanted to say something, but at this moment, a reassuring figure appeared at the end of the corridor.
"Dumbledore," Professor McGonagall said quickly, "Here..."
"Yes, Minerva, I saw everything," Dumbledore said calmly. He looked away. "Potter, Weasley, and Granger, could you please take Professor Quirrell to the hospital ward?"
"Yes, yes, sir."
In the corner, Harry, Hermione and Ron walked out with their heads hung.
They thought they were hiding well, but they were discovered so quickly.
When they were halfway there, Harry couldn't help but get curious and secretly glanced towards the corridor.
But he saw nothing.
The middle of the corridor was obscured by a cloud of white smoke at some point. He couldn't see anything and could only hear Professor McGonagall's angry voice.
"You didn't go back to the dormitory, and you wandered around the castle knowing it was dangerous. What kind of tricks are you playing? Five points from Gryffindor, five points for each of you!"
Facing the angry Professor McGonagall, Harry couldn't help but shrink his neck, and Ron and Hermione didn't even dare to say a word.
Looking at the quiet Dumbledore, Harry felt he needed to explain, "Headmaster...we're not playing any tricks. We're here to find Siren."
"Mr. Ollivander?" Dumbledore's expression remained unchanged. "So, Gryffindor will have to deduct another five points."
"No, no, that's not the case," Harry explained quickly. "He said he came back to look for something, so he couldn't attend the party right away. He didn't know about the troll, so we wanted to come and warn him."
"I see." Dumbledore nodded. "Then why didn't you tell the professor about this? If I remember correctly, Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout were with the students the whole time."
"We... forgot, forgot." Harry's voice was a little weak.
"Can you help take Professor Quirrell to the school hospital now? He looks like he's about to pass out from vomiting." This time Harry didn't say anything. He ran over with Ron and dragged Quirrell away.
The action was a bit rough, but no one reminded them of this, and Dumbledore pretended not to notice.
How could three first-year students possibly carry an adult wizard? It made sense to drag him away.
After the three people and Quirrell disappeared, Dumbledore walked over and looked at the situation at the scene carefully.
Five minutes later, Hagrid arrived.
"Oh, Fluffy..." Looking at the three-headed dog locked in chains with blood dripping from its mouth, Hagrid grabbed his chest and tears came out of his eyes due to heartache.
"Come on, Minerva, it's only a child..."
"You know, the 'child' you mentioned just killed a troll." Professor McGonagall said expressionlessly, then pointed to the troll's corpse on the ground.
That's a giant monster, and it's being eaten like a pork chop. Is that appropriate?
Hagrid made a weird cry that sounded like a duck being pinched by the neck.
"It's really terrifying." Snape said coldly, "From the time we heard the sound to the time we rushed over, it was only two minutes at most, and it was able to tear an adult giant monster in half in such a short time.
"Dumbledore, this kind of monster cannot stay in the school."
"No, no..." Hagrid stammered in defense, "Fluwill is usually very, very obedient. It must be the troll that pissed him off."
"So what you mean is that a giant monster whose brain is no bigger than a walnut would take the initiative to provoke a three-headed dog?" Snape asked in a long tone.
Hagrid panicked even more and stammered, unable to speak.
He looked at Dumbledore, his eyes full of pleading.
"I believe Hagrid."
"Dumbledore..."
"Don't worry, Severus," Dumbledore said, pointing to the leftmost head of the three-headed dog. "Look here."
Snape looked over subconsciously, then frowned slightly.
The mouth was injured, bloody and mangled, and two teeth were missing.
"Was this caused by a beating from a troll?" His voice was full of doubt.
Are you kidding me? The three-headed dog can even eat a fire dragon that can't fly on the ground. How powerful must the troll be to beat it like this? It must be a giant.
"From the current situation, it seems that this is the only explanation." Dumbledore stood up.
"The troll accidentally broke into Hogwarts and accidentally came to the fourth floor. He opened the door and injured the three-headed dog with a wooden stick. In the end, he was torn in half by the enraged three-headed dog."
Dumbledore's tone was calm, but the person next to him was different.
This process... just listening to it from the side seems ridiculous, too ridiculous.
"But this raises a new question," Dumbledore continued. "How did it get in? I just noticed that the door is intact and there are no signs of violence. Could the troll have opened the door with a key?"
"Perhaps we could ask the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor," Snape said suddenly. "He was the first one to discover the troll in the dungeon."
"Quirinus is still in the hospital wing, Severus," said Dumbledore. "He is terrified."
"Hehe..." Snape sneered, "If necessary, I can help him brew a potion to soothe his spirit."
