Chapter 14 My Sister's Visit

Chapter 14 My Sister's Visit
Two days later, in the afternoon, Loris's carriage arrived in Sandstone Town.

The butler stood on either side of the gate with male and female servants from the Sandstone Castle.

Loren and Shirley went out to greet them.

The carriage, escorted by four knights, arrived at the castle.

"Lord Loren, Miss Xuefu."

The leading knight bowed respectfully.

"At your invitation, we are escorting Lady Loris to Sandstone Town as a guest."

Loren did indeed extend an invitation that day.

But that was just a polite remark; how could Loris not know that?
Loren thought to himself that since he had already signed a contract with the spirit insect, Loris couldn't possibly take it back.

"It turns out to be my dear sister."

As soon as she finished speaking, the accompanying maid opened the carriage door, and Loris stepped down from the carriage.

She had long, jet-black hair, bright eyes, and while her clothes weren't fancy, she was very beautiful.

The children of the Silver Moon family are all quite good-looking.

Loris had just turned eighteen, the most beautiful age for a woman.

"Brother, since you have extended an invitation to me, the construction of Sandstone Town must have yielded good results. Why don't you take me for a tour?"

Loren shook his head. "There's nothing to see here. It's nowhere near as nice as my sister's coastal town."

"I heard last time that a rye sprite worm was born in your rye field, brother. Now that it's harvest season, won't you take me to see the farm in Sandstone Town?"

Having said that, Loren had no reason to refuse.

If Lolis really wants to go, no one can stop her.

He and Xuefu took Loris to the farmland.

The carriages and horses were taken care of by stewards and knights.

Farmers are busy harvesting rye in the fields.

Loris looked at the thriving rye and felt a little strange.

There are also rye sprites in the coastal town, while the rye sprites in the sandstone town are only half a month old.

Why does this rye look better than the one from the coastal town?

Except for the fact that the yield is not as good as that of rye from the coastal town.

In other aspects, such as plant height and fruit plumpness, it appears to be of higher quality than the rye from the coastal town.

Could it be that the farmland in Shashi Town is more suitable for growing rye?

Unfortunately, she didn't know how to farm and couldn't tell the difference in soil.

Loris discovered the makeshift shed that Loren had built.

Why is this piece of land fenced off?

Loren explained, "I plan to grow some new crops in there."

"potato?"

Loren was startled. "How did you know?"

Lorris sneered, "As far as I know, only one caravan has passed through Sandstone Town recently, and the only new crop they have is potatoes."

Loren was very distressed. "That's right, you've taken all the good stuff, and I can only pick up the trash that nobody wants."

"I advise you not to waste your time. Potatoes are poisonous and inedible, so there's no point in growing them," Loris warned.

Shefl glanced at Loren.

She had the same question.

The merchants in the caravan also mentioned this point: why does Loren still insist on planting?
Loren offered no explanation.

There's no point in saying anything more until potatoes are grown on a large scale.

"Alright, isn't it about time I went to check on my few purple barley plants?"

Loren's heart skipped a beat.

This girl really did come for those two elf insects!

He brought Lori to Damaidi.

The four purple barley plants I brought back last time.

Three of the plants have already been harvested, leaving only one plant in the ground.

It is the cordyceps of the barley fairy insect.

"My dear sister, isn't that a coincidence?"

Just two days after I returned from your place, a purple barley plant actually spawned a fairy insect!

"Sister, you're my lucky star!" Loris glared coldly at Loren.

"Shameless! I remember you dug up a thorny elm in my territory just a few days ago."

Loren nodded. "That's right. Sandstone Town is backed by the Monster Mountain Range. I'd like to plant some thorn elms around the area to prevent monsters from invading during the winter."

Loris glanced sideways at Loren.

"Preventing monster invasion? Thorn elms alone won't be enough. Brother, have you perhaps discovered an elm tree spirit insect?"

She asked knowingly.

Loren smiled. "As expected, nothing can be hidden from my little sister."

"Hmph, it was stolen from me too, wasn't it?"

"how could be?"

Loren offered a serious but evasive defense.

"I just happened to find an elm tree spirit insect while transplanting thorny elms. It originally belonged to the territory of Sandstone Town."

Loris's expression suddenly turned serious. "Loren, tell me honestly, do you know where the spirit insects can be born?"

Loren shook his head and sighed, "How could that be? It's just good luck."

lucky?
With good luck, you might be able to collect three Pokémon in just half a month?

Loris didn't believe such nonsense.

"I can let these two times go, but if you dare to take advantage of me again, you're dead!"
Also, if you can help me find the sprite bugs within my territory, I can pay you a reward.

Loren's eyes lit up. "Of course! We're siblings!"

As long as Lolis doesn't ask for the fairy insects, everything is fine!

Seeing that Loren and Lolis had finished their conversation, Xuefu offered her suggestion at the opportune moment.

"Lady Loris, we've had our fill of sightseeing. Let's go back to the castle and have some afternoon tea. Loren recently invented a refreshing drink to beat the heat."

"A refreshing drink?" Loris immediately became interested.

"Yes, you'll definitely like it."

Xuefu remembered that when she last went to the coastal town, there was grape juice on Loris's table.

When it comes to beverages, having ice and not having ice are two different things.

Especially in the hot summer.

The three returned to the castle, and Loren suggested, "Why don't you let your knights have a taste as well?"

Lorice said she didn't care, "As long as you don't mind."

Upon entering the castle, Loren prepared chilled grape juice.

His amateurish witchcraft can only go this far.

Looking at the juice in the glass, Loris thought to herself, "Isn't this just ordinary grape juice?"

Why is it still steaming from up there?

Was this grape juice boiled?

Loris picked up her glass, and a cool, refreshing scent wafted towards her.

wrong!

This isn't heat!
After drinking the grape juice, Lolis felt a refreshing coolness.

The knight was not afraid of the heat, but he could still feel the coolness.

how did you do that?
"You added a magic potion to it?"

Loris looked at Loren with a puzzled expression.

There are many kinds of potions, and some of them have a remarkable cooling effect.

But who would use precious magic potions to make a drink?

Perhaps only the most extravagant nobles would be so wasteful.

Loren shrugged. "You could think of it that way."

Potions and magic are essentially not that different.

However, magic can be restored through meditation, while potions are precious consumables.

Loris was skeptical.

If there really was a magic potion added, then this glass of juice would cost at least several gold coins.

How could Loren possibly let the knights enjoy it together?
"It seems I have to treat you differently, elder brother."
