Chapter 133 Business Cooperation
Chapter 133 Business Cooperation
Walter Weiss could sense that the way others were looking at him had changed recently.
Not only family members, company employees, and business associates... Since he took over the business again, the company's performance has improved by leaps and bounds. His family members look at him with awe and admiration, while outsiders look at him with flattery and envy.
Some long-time customers even asked directly if they had gotten in touch with any insiders and if they could share their secrets with them.
They were right.
This insider... is the security agency.
Seeing the new email records in his private inbox, along with the ID that was completely replaced by asterisks, he knew that the other party had given him new instructions.
Upon opening it, I found it to be packed with information, just like the previous few emails.
"On November 25th, Asda Electronics will go bankrupt due to poor management and years of losses. Preparations should be made as soon as possible to negotiate an acquisition with its bankruptcy administrator. From November 6th to 15th, the following stocks can be shorted: LD Machinery, Dongmei Industrial, New World Intelligent Manufacturing… See the appendix for details."
Not a single word is superfluous; it's all prophetic business secrets. Any company that obtains this information, as long as it has a certain amount of cash flow and complete trust in the authorities, can multiply its wealth several times over in a short period of time.
After extracting the main points, Walter sent them to his youngest son, Longlan Weiss—with the eldest son gone, someone else would naturally take his place. As things stand, while Longlan isn't as clever as Geo, he's extremely loyal and meticulously completes every task assigned to him.
After finishing all this, he lit a cigar, leaned back on the bench, and sighed with a touch of melancholy.
It's December now, and we've been cooperating with the Weixian Agency for almost four months. The family has benefited greatly from it, and it could even be said that it's about to reach a new peak.
The last time Walter Corporation was this lucky was during Operation Desert Storm. Orders seemed endless from the East Coast, making every company in the industry very prosperous.
But at that moment, Walter felt quite uneasy.
The security agency is no pushover; they must have ulterior motives for offering so many benefits. But could a small arms manufacturer really meet the agency's demands?
Moreover, the company is currently making a lot of money, but it's all tied up in finance, with almost no improvement in its real business. In other words, if it fails to meet the requirements of government agencies, the company will be quickly abandoned, with no bargaining power whatsoever.
This is a situation he doesn't want to see.
However, the question is, in which areas of business does the company need to strengthen to make itself sufficiently valuable? Should it continue investing in small arms? They don't involve much technology, and the agency has only been periodically acquiring ammunition without increasing its demand for firearms.
What about heavy weapons?
This industry is capital-intensive. If you want to build a production line, the initial investment is enormous. If you make a mistake in the forecast, you will lose everything.
It's all because the government's way of doing things is too unique. Although it's true that you need to bait the area before fishing, who would pour a whole bag of feed into a fishpond?
After much consideration, Walter decided to take the initiative to send an email to the other party.
"I understand. Is there anything else we can help you with? Whether it's weapons or aircraft, the company can provide assistance. Also, the company is hoping to expand production further; what suggestions does the higher authorities have?"
His last sentence was basically a test of the other party's intentions.
Unexpectedly, a new reply came just a few seconds after I sent it.
"The bullet delivery date is in five days; we'll meet then."
Interview!
This is the first time I've had to meet with government officials in person!
Walter immediately perked up and summoned the butler, instructing him, "George! What's the name of the hotel closest to the park?"
The old butler thought for a moment, "It should be called Baolin Hotel."
"Find out who its owner is and buy it."
George was taken aback. "Sir, are you sure you want to buy it? The location is remote, and there aren't any tourist attractions or commercial areas around..."
"You can handle it. I have my own plans." Walter's mind was made up.
Five days passed quickly. The dilapidated bungalow, as always, had been transformed into a peculiar trading post. Crates of ammunition were carried inside, their destinations unknown. This time, however, Walter didn't stay on the hotel rooftop to observe; instead, he stood at the doorway of this unassuming house.
A moment later, a girl came out of the house.
Walter was immediately struck by her striking appearance—a true dazzle. Unlike the simply dressed strongmen, she was the complete opposite: her hair was a vibrant, shimmering blue-pink, dyed in a dazzling array of colors that seemed to sparkle in the sunlight. Her eyebrows were long and arched, and her exaggerated eyeshadow extended even beyond the corners of her eyes. Her ears and fingers were adorned with countless pendants, as if only in this way could she make the most of everything.
If Walter had seen someone dressed like that on some street corner, he would have scoffed. They would have thought that because they had nothing, they insisted on using this way to show their difference. But this person was different… She held the secrets of many companies, and could generate billions with a flick of her finger.
So, the reason she dresses like this must be because she likes it, and she's definitely not the same as those idle delinquents who gather in groups on the street.
"I am Walter, and you must be a member of the organization, right?" Despite the man's young age, Walter dared not underestimate him, given the various incredible abilities he possessed. He stepped forward and extended his hand, saying, "May I ask your name?"
"Just call me Lin." The other person shook hands with him, their words conveying neither malice nor a strong sense of intimacy.
As long as there's no ill intent, Walter then said, "Ms. Lin, I've prepared a suitable meeting place, not far from here. Would you be willing to join me?"
Lin Qing glanced back at the branch store. "Alright... but I need to come back here in an hour."
"No problem, please get in the car." He pointed to the extended luxury car that had been prepared in advance and gestured for it to proceed.
……
A red carpet was laid out outside the Bao Green Hotel, and two rows of welcoming staff stood respectfully in the lobby.
Lin Qing frowned slightly as she walked in. "I thought you would be more concerned about privacy."
Her English is fluent, and you can't hear any regional accent at all.
Walter chuckled, “Even if I don’t value my own privacy, I certainly won’t ignore the privacy needs of my business partners. Ms. Lin, please rest assured, all the cameras here have been turned off, and there are no outsiders in the hotel. In fact, Walter Company has already purchased it. The business procedures will take some time to complete, but the letter of intent has already been signed.”
"You bought this place?" Lin Qing asked in surprise.
“Yes. Although that bungalow is inconspicuous, it is still in a public place, and it is surrounded by a park. Too many people coming and going will easily attract attention,” Walter said. “Once the formalities here are completed, I will transfer it to the authorities. That way, you can use this hotel directly to transport supplies.”
A branch store only needs a room of about 100 square meters to open; it would be a waste to use a hotel instead.
However, Lin Qing also realized that Walter was clearly trying to bribe the authorities, which meant he was aware of the value of that information. "It is indeed better than in public. Thank you for your thoughtfulness."
"It's no big deal." Walter felt much more relaxed when he saw that she didn't refuse.
He led Lin Qing to a luxury suite on the 30th floor of the hotel, where a variety of fine wines and delicacies had already been laid out on the table... Although it was said to be a private meeting, it could actually be called a cocktail party, except that there were only two participants.
Lin Qing looked around and couldn't help but chuckle, "Mr. Walter is certainly being very hospitable."
"Of course." Walter poured a glass of wine for his client. "I thought the gentleman who led me into the organization last time would come too, so I prepared extra food."
Lin Qing naturally knew he was referring to Chen Xuan, and casually said, "He's only in charge of the general direction; I'll handle the specific operations. Just remember that."
In fact, she didn't tell Chen Xuan about this.
Since returning from Chang'an, Chen Xuan had been behaving strangely, often falling into a daze for no apparent reason. Liu Shuyue had also rarely come to help at the shop; the last time Chen Xuan saw her was a week ago. This made Chen Xuan suspect that the two had quarreled, but when she subtly inquired, their answers were consistent: no.
Therefore, she had to push the plan forward by herself for the time being.
“No problem, you can all represent the organization anyway, right?” Walter asked casually.
Lin Qing realized that the other party possessed the ability to sense trust; if they were lying with ulterior motives, they might be able to detect malice. However, since she was originally a member of the organization, she answered without any burden, "That's right, we can all represent the organization, and we are the most special branch within it."
"What branch?" Walter couldn't help but ask curiously.
"We are responsible for the research and development of next-generation technologies and neural equipment, and our classification level is top secret," Lin Qing replied seriously. "Even within the Dimensional Agency itself, we are an entity that is unknown to most people."
