Chapter 4 The Mysterious Amitabha Buddha

Meanwhile, the most outstanding talents of our time continued their adventures on the ancient starry road.

Jiang Bai's experience opened up a new path for them to prove their Dao. They could accumulate enough in this life, then seal themselves off, and wait until Jiang Bai died and the suppression of the Great Dao ended, then directly emerge to prove their Dao.

It also lets those who come after them experience the frustration they're going through now—how great would that be?

Jiang Bai appeared on Mount Sumeru and was warmly welcomed by the Buddhist community.

This caused many Buddhist saints on Mount Sumeru to exclaim in surprise, never expecting that the newly born Great Emperor and Human King would descend upon this place.

The person who received Jiang Bai was a Buddhist nun from his time, but a little later.

Although she is called a Bodhisattva, she is a Quasi-Emperor with the cultivation level of eight thousand years old, yet she still looks young and beautiful.

In Jiang Bai's eyes, the female bodhisattva Shijue's vitality was still strong under the nourishment of the power of faith, and she could probably live for another thousand years.

In Jiang Bai's eyes, the power of faith was a complex and magical thing. In the ancient era of immortals, some people used it to create the cultivation path of the spirit sacrifice lineage, and even immortal kings kept studying it, hoping to use it to break through to the emperor realm.

The Taoist Amitabha Buddha of the mythological era, the later Emperor, the Undying Emperor, and even the Amitabha Buddha Emperor from ten thousand years ago, all studied the power of faith.

Among them, Amitabha Buddha can be said to have gone the furthest on the path of faith. In the original work, the "divine self" he left behind survived in its peak form until the path to immortality opened, and he bravely ventured into the path to immortality.

Furthermore, Amitabha Buddha himself used the power of faith to complete the reincarnation of his primordial spirit, and almost resurrected in the bodies of Shakyamuni and Ye Fan's disciple Hua Hua.

The reason they weren't resurrected was simply that Amitabha Buddha was unwilling to take over their bodies, leaving the choice of whether or not they could become Amitabha Buddha to the two of them.

However, the power of faith also has a side effect: it creates karma, and if you don't repay it, you can easily be held accountable.

The practice of spirit worship is for believers and requires the protection of all living beings. If the vows of both parties are broken, they will be subject to karmic retribution.

Jiang Bai's purpose in descending upon Mount Sumeru this time was also very simple.

"I wish to learn from Amitabha Buddha's research on the power of faith."

In his next exploration of the path to immortality, Jiang Bai chose to stand on the shoulders of giants.

After a moment's thought, the female bodhisattva Shijue took Jiang Bai to the place where Amitabha Buddha had once practiced.

It was a small courtyard with a Bodhi tree growing inside, which was the Bodhi Immortal Medicine.

As soon as Jiang Bai stepped into the courtyard, he sensed the peaceful and gentle Buddhist path of Amitabha Buddha. Even the domineering and forceful nature of other people's path of kingship became softer.

"Amitabha Buddha, Great Emperor, what a powerful cultivation you are." Jiang Bai sighed. He truly admired the other party's cultivation. Even after ten thousand years, the remaining Dao could still influence him, which was terrifying enough.

Inside the study in the courtyard, there are many handwritten notes left by Amitabha Buddha, recording his insights.

Jiang Bai slowly turned the pages, quickly becoming engrossed in them.

Upon seeing this, the female bodhisattva Shijue withdrew directly, leaving Jiang Bai alone.

As Jiang Bai perused the scriptures left behind by Amitabha Buddha, he gradually began to resonate with the Amitabha Buddha's Great Dao that remained in this place.

In an instant, Jiang Bai felt the world change, and subconsciously looked up, his pupils shrinking sharply.

Through the window, Jiang Bai saw the Bodhi tree in the courtyard shining brightly, and an old monk sitting under the tree.

Jiang Bai chuckled to himself, never expecting that he could transcend time and space to meet Amitabha Buddha—no, to have activated the Great Dao left behind by Amitabha Buddha and meet him.

It's just like how Wushi and Ruthless met across time and space under the Enlightenment Tea Tree on Undying Mountain in the novel "Covering the Sky".

This shows that the Forbidden Zone is actually quite aggrieved, often treated as a backyard by the current emperors. First, there was the ruthless Wushi discussing the Dao under the tea tree in the Undying Mountain, and then there was the Azure Emperor entering the Divine Void to seize the Desolate Tower and kill the Great Accomplished Holy Spirit, showing no regard for the face of the Forbidden Zone's supreme ruler.

Jiang Bai walked out of the room, bowed slightly to Amitabha Buddha, and sat down with him under the Enlightenment Tea Tree.

Amitabha Buddha's hands danced in the air, and his unique, gentle Buddhist path began to gradually unfold. Through this path, Jiang Bai saw Amitabha Buddha's research on the method of immortality and the power of faith.

In Amitabha Buddha's understanding, the power of faith is the concrete manifestation of the great path of cause and effect, and the path of borrowing and repaying.

Since all beings believe in you, you must protect them. Therefore, in Amitabha Buddha's eyes, even the supreme beings of the forbidden zones who devour all beings have already sought their own demise.

Amitabha Buddha believed that if you want to become an immortal and live a long life, you must "settle accounts" with all sentient beings and not owe them anything. If you want to go far in life, you must give back to all sentient beings and the universe.

Just like what Amitabha Buddha did in the Western Desert, sentient beings believed in the Buddha, and the Buddha protected the sentient beings in the Western Desert and relieved them of disasters.

Jiang Bai found it amazing, especially when Amitabha Buddha showed him the "pure" power of faith he had gained after this process.

The power of pure faith represents the most beautiful hope, without any side effects.

Like the female bodhisattva Shijue, she walks in the world, subduing demons and monsters, regulating the spiritual veins of heaven and earth, and helping those in places plagued by epidemics. People believe in her and hope that she will live forever.

Shijue obtained a portion of immortality by using the power of these "pure" beliefs.

The Buddhist community left behind by Amitabha Buddha has always been sincerely working for the benefit of all beings. All beings hope that Amitabha Buddha can be reborn in the cycle of reincarnation and return to continue protecting everyone.

This is why the primordial spirit of Amitabha Buddha was able to reincarnate.

As the Great Dao evolved, Amitabha Buddha clasped his hands together in respect towards Jiang Bai and said, "May Fellow Daoist King have a smooth journey on his path to immortality."

At that moment, Jiang Bai's hair stood on end. Amitabha Buddha smiled slightly, and his figure slowly disappeared.

"This is unbelievable," Jiang Bai muttered.

Squeak.

The courtyard gate was pushed open, and the female bodhisattva Shijue walked in, congratulating Jiang Bai, "Congratulations on the Human King's further advancement in cultivation."

Jiang Bai's lips twitched, the price being that he was frightened by Amitabha Buddha.

“The various races of the universe who came to pay homage have been residing on Mount Sumeru for a long time.”

Jiang Bai was slightly taken aback. After some deduction, he realized that five hundred years had passed in the world.

Shijue led Jiang Bai outwards. Over the past five hundred years, saints from all over the universe have descended upon Beidou one after another, and finally followed the traces to Mount Sumeru.

With the aim of not wasting anything, Shijue persuaded them to settle down there and hold a philosophical discussion from time to time.

Because of the arrival of the sage from beyond the realm, and through mutual exchange, the path of cultivation in Beidou was broadened, and the number of people who recited the Jiang Bai name increased significantly.

Jiang Bai chuckled upon hearing this. He had stayed in Beidou and come to Ximo purely to gain experience from Amitabha Buddha's exploration of the path to immortality. He never expected to gain a pure power of faith.

This is an unexpected surprise.

Jiang Bai had no objection to meeting the cosmic sage.

Having just gained experience in studying the power of faith through Amitabha Buddha, he had a novel idea and decided to put it to the test.
