Chapter 90 89 Comments on "The Great Way to Heaven"
Chapter 90 89. Comments on "The Great Way to Heaven"
I have never dared to write about the book I am introducing today because it is too advanced.
"The Great Road to Heaven", author: Mao Ni, platinum writer.
Category: Fantasy-Eastern Fantasy.
【Introduction】
If I kill one person in a thousand miles, I will not take even ten steps.
The introduction is adapted from Li Bai's "Xia Ke Xing" (The Knight's Song): "Kill one person every ten steps, and leave no trace in a thousand miles."
It is also a true portrayal of the protagonist Jing Jiu.
【Golden Five Chapters】
Chapter One: The Three Thousand Mile Ban. Outside the Qingshan Sect, in Yunji Town, a demonic sect disciple, Yin San, was eating hot pot when he was discovered and captured by Qingshan Sect disciple Zhao Layue. The two exchanged anecdotes about hot pot. Yin San was subsequently killed. The Qingshan Sect then issued a three-thousand-mile ban because Grandmaster Jingyang was about to ascend.
Chapter Two: A Sword Slashes the Sky. Junior Master's ascension brings great joy to the Qingshan Sect, as he had never had any positive impact on the sect. Many powerful figures gather to witness the ceremony, some with other aspirations. Thunder descends, and a flash of sword light flies out, meeting the thunder and tearing the sky apart.
Chapter 3: The young man in white steps into the river again. Zhao Layue carries Yin San's body, a smile on his face. His uncle ascends, and then he becomes puzzled. In a cave on the other side, a young man in white looks at the body on the stone bed, feeling helpless. He enters the stream, but falls to the bottom of the lake. His spells fail, so he resorts to drilling wood to make fire and meditating, unable to recall the introductory formula.
Chapter 4, Nine Days. A young man in white arrives in a village and plans to stay. Because of his good looks, he's revered as a master by the villagers. He randomly selects a child and spends nine days teaching them basic life skills, including making a reclining chair—a crucial prop.
Chapter 5: One Year. Within a year, everyone knew the young man in white was named Jing Jiu, and his servant was renamed Liu Shisui. Jing Jiu was lazy and didn't want to do anything. However, he was also extremely skilled in deduction, and as a result, his enemies soon found him.
【Brief Comment】
I have been following this book since it first came out. When it reached one-third of the book, I started to read it and have been following it until now.
It’s not that the book is not exciting, but that it is too advanced.
Those who are interested should have noticed that the volume titles and introductions of this book are really unique, just like the ancient Chinese novels for women, with many poems and songs.
This is a bit like the writing style of traditional martial arts novels, which shows that the author really pays attention to the writing style and layout. Once the literary youth begins to play, it will directly give readers goosebumps.
The author abandons his previous writing style, attempting to reduce psychological and environmental descriptions, striving to convey more story with minimal words, while insisting on letting the plot drive everything. This is actually quite difficult, as reducing dialogue and surroundings inherently eliminates the opportunity for simplistic writing. The opening sentences, in particular, are shockingly concise.
In addition, the protagonist Jing Jiu seemed to be indifferent to life and death. Facing his "shed body", he said a simple farewell and then looked for a place to live on his own. He taught Liu Shisui and helped him practice.
Jing Jiu was very handsome, even prettier than a girl. The villagers were simple and honest, and simply regarded him as an immortal master. However, for a true cultivator, appearance was not always that important.
Zhao Layue in this book isn't the pretty type, with short hair and a tomboyish look. Liu Shisui isn't one to prioritize appearances either. Both are born Dao seeds, possessing exceptionally high cultivation talents. One righteous, the other "evil," yet both are devoted supporters of Jing Jiu.
Jing Jiu, who had lived for many years, had a young body but an old heart, and few people could touch his heartstrings.
Mao Ni's protagonists are always calm, cool, and quiet by nature, and are rarely moved by worldly people or events. It's often only when a loved one faces death that they realize they've been harboring feelings deep in their hearts.
Mao Ni's books always offer a sense of peace, a stark contrast to the increasingly bombastic and clamorous online literature of today. Reading his books, besides experiencing the beauty of his prose, reveals his reflections on human nature, life, and the truth of the world.
Of course, people who don't like this book will also complain that Mao Ni's writing style seems to be too focused on the conciseness of the text and the pretentiousness of the characters, which feels a bit too pretentious.
The recent plot transitions have felt abrupt and awkward. How did they suddenly enter a technological civilization? How is this different from the Holy Light Continent at the end of Fighter of the Destiny? We'll have to wait and see.
【to sum up】
Mao Ni's books have a special sense of sophistication that can calm people and make them think.
I hope more friends like it~
【Cang's Ramblings】
I will update early today because I don’t want to make the only two flag-planters wait too long.
Although I don't know what kind of night owls these two are, no matter whether they update at 2 o'clock or 3 o'clock.
They will all be there!
As a failed author, what I look forward to most is to get quick feedback from readers after each update. Even if there are some negative comments, at least it is a form of interaction.
These days, I have been reading the latest chapters of some of my earlier better works, and I can hardly see what this chapter is about.
Those readers either didn't wait or gave up leaving messages.
In fact, many readers don’t like to leave messages and interact, especially older readers.
If things go wrong, you may have to switch to handwriting typing.
Therefore, I am really fortunate to have a flag-raiser to escort this book all the way.
What’s even more fortunate is that although this book currently has only 365 collections, the number of people who subscribe to it is actually better than when I was serializing "The Mirror Giant".
This is really something to be happy about.
I have been thinking about how long it would take to write this book and how many different ways of writing book reviews I would need to use in order to attract more readers' attention.
I even thought about giving myself a silver alliance and collecting 30,000 collections.
But I am also confused.
If I can save enough money to become a Silver Alliance member, I might as well cash it out and buy myself a computer.
Since I stopped getting recommendations, I’ve actually been feeling a bit panicked.
I don’t know how far this book will go.
In fact, many authors have this concern.
Among the vast number of authors, about seven million, only about one million are still working hard to update.
Small categories are easier to deal with, and there may be more recommendations.
However, even in smaller categories, there is fierce competition.
Writing a book is really a boring and long process if you always do it alone.
Fortunately, the interactivity of this book is actually quite good.
Judging from the number of collections, it’s really possible!
The topic is changed!
The book "The Great Way to Heaven" is still worth reading, although it is not ranked high on major lists.
This book needs to be savored carefully. Its simple writing style, jumping plot, and bold attitude of trying new writing styles are also worthy of praise.
If we don't pursue technological civilization in the later stages, the style may be more unified.
However, the author must have his own considerations, perhaps wanting to connect it with previous works.
After all, many platinum writers are writing series.
It is true that Mao Ni did not come up with his own "several steps".
The word count is about the same, and the readers must not spend more money.
By the way, the first order of Eagle’s new book was 1.6, which is similar to my conservative forecast of 1.2.
If it weren't for that Silver Alliance, it would have been almost a 100% hit rate.
