Chapter 38 37. Comments on "The Devil Comes"

Qidian's super popular supernatural writer Chunjie Xiaolong released his new book "The Devil is Coming" today.

Chapter 1, Welcome. This chapter, primarily through dialogue, tells the story of Sun Yafei, a bank employee who once had a stable job. In reality, her job, while pleasant to the ears, didn't pay much. Jealousy, envy, or other reasons led her to sell her body. Through several conversations at different times, we see how Sun Yafei's life improved dramatically, but she fell deeper and deeper into the abyss of selling herself, ultimately falling into a deep pit of sin and being tricked into joining an AIDS club.

Chapter 2, Endings and Beginnings. This chapter focuses on the seven people in a comics studio who created seven comic books. However, each comic book has a different theme and meaning. At the end of this chapter, Zheng Fan (the suspected protagonist of this book) receives treatment for health issues. 【Brief Comment】

The two chapters of this book seem to be two completely independent stories, seemingly "completely unrelated", but in fact, there must be a hidden thread running through them.

Chapter 1 introduces the character Sun Yafei, who might seek solutions to her own problems or report the club's crimes. The AIDS club incident has been reported in real life. This close connection to reality is a consistent style of Xiaolong's online writing.

The 7 comics and 7 people in Chapter 2 will also have 7 different destinies.

In particular, Zheng Fan, in my opinion, should be the protagonist of this book. He is ill, and the treatment process should have taken a turn for the better, and he was reborn, and even gained the power of the devil, becoming one of the seven demons, or even the biggest demon.

Through Zheng Fan, we can see how to fight against the seven demons and how to save other people who are attacked by demons. When demons come to this world, there will naturally be true warriors who stand up to fight against them.

As everyone knows, the supernatural category was the most severely rectified of all the categories on Qidian in 2019. Many books are completely lost, and even Xiaolong's previous seven books have been censored to only two, fulfilling his long-cherished wish of becoming a legend with one book.

Therefore, he wrote the new book in a very restrained style, which is completely different from the style of the previous opening.

His attempt is actually a kind of self-innovation and self-protection, which can extend the life of the book.

Here is an inference. If Zheng Fan in Chapter 2 is not the protagonist of this book, but a new story, or each chapter of the author is an independent story, like a small theater, or similar to "The Decameron", it is also acceptable.

Because Xiaolong's routine is always unpredictable!

No matter which inference it is, even if it is very different from his previous style and causes reader loss, we should encourage it.

This is the book review I wrote on the day that The Devil Comes was released.

The so-called prediction was slapped in the face the next day.

I had a premonition about this and I agree that slapping someone in the face should be done while the heat is still on.

When this book was put on the shelves, I also contributed the first order and occasionally subscribed to a few chapters.

I don't have auto-subscription turned on.

Because the style of the new book is completely different from that of "Late Night Bookstore".

It's like being deeply in love with a woman, but not talking to her all night. When you wake up the next day, you find that she has become a different person.

Or it’s someone I don’t know at all!

This is hard for me to accept as I am loyal to love.

My current thought is to wait until the finale and then go watch it.
