Chapter 58 Tracy's Personal Request
Chapter 58 Tracy's Personal Request
The old witch's voice suddenly dropped to a low note, carrying a hint of warning: "With your current state of knowledge, you're not even qualified to access the general information."
"Why?" Ron couldn't help but ask, curiosity getting the better of him.
"Because that part of the content can easily drive practitioners crazy."
Mrs. Allen said calmly, but there was a hint of imperceptible fear in her eyes:
"When you master the first two stages, your mental strength and self-control must also be strong enough. Otherwise, only endless darkness and madness await you."
At this point, the old witch's slightly hoarse voice carried a rare hint of concern:
"I've seen too many talented people destroy themselves by rushing for success. You have so much potential, there's no need to take that risk."
"I will take your warning to heart."
Ron nodded solemnly. He could sense the concern implicit in Mrs. Allen's words.
Although their relationship was based on mutual benefit, Ron was certain that Mrs. Allen was doing her best, at least not wanting to see a promising young apprentice fall into madness too early.
Just like a farmer would not want the seedlings he has carefully cultivated to bloom and bear fruit too early, thus affecting the final harvest.
"very good."
Mrs. Allen took down a leather scroll that looked extremely old from the bookshelf behind her. The surface was mottled with traces of time.
"Continue with your daily work this morning. This afternoon, I will officially begin teaching you the first stage of 'The Whisper of the Star Devourer'."
Ron nodded in agreement and began his morning routine.
Arrange medicinal materials, make simple potions, and record the characteristics of newly arrived items.
These boring tasks were now full of meaning in his eyes, and every operation could give him a deeper understanding of potions.
He works attentively and efficiently, and these seemingly simple chores will undoubtedly become a solid foundation for his greater achievements in the future.

Near noon, the shop door was pushed open, the wind chimes made a crisp sound, and a breeze with a strange floral fragrance drifted in.
Ron looked up and immediately recognized the person coming - Tracy, wearing a dark gray robe, was standing at the door. The sunlight shone from behind her, outlining a dazzling silhouette for the girl.
Tracy has clearly transformed since their brief reunion.
The face that was once thin due to hunger now has beautiful lines, confidence and determination are revealed in the eyes, and the light sapphire badge on the chest reflects the light.
"Mrs. Allen, I'm here to pick up the potion that my mentor entrusted me with." Tracy's voice was soft but her words were clear.
Mrs. Allen looked up at the clock and nodded slightly. "It's exactly the same time as agreed. I like you, a good kid who's punctual."
She pulled out an exquisite wooden box from under the counter. Intricate runes were carved into it, forming an invisible protective barrier.
"Tell Wizard Corinna that this potion is 30% more potent than the last one, but the instructions remain the same. Also, the consumption of those rare ingredients was greater than expected, so the price might have to be raised next time."
Tracy took the wooden box, checked the seal with deft movements, and then carefully put it into the inner pocket of her robe.
"The instructor has already taken into account the fluctuation in material prices, which is additional compensation."
She pulled a small bag from another pocket, and there was a sound of something hard colliding inside.
Mrs. Allen took the bag, squeezed it lightly with her fingers, as if to estimate the weight, and then nodded with satisfaction.
After the transaction was completed, Tracy turned her gaze to Ron, who was sorting the herbs nearby. Compared to last time, her eyes were obviously more scrutinizing and curious.
"Ron, long time no see." She nodded slightly, with a hint of tentativeness in her voice:
"I heard that you have been successfully promoted to junior apprentice? Congratulations."
"Thank you." Ron responded politely, put down his work, and wiped the herbal juice off his hands.
"You seem to be doing well. Lady Corinna's teachings must have been very effective."
"Everyone gets something." Tracy answered lightly, but she couldn't hide the pride in her eyes.
"Ron, since you two are old acquaintances, why don't you take Tracy to the back for a cup of tea?"
Mrs. Allen, who was standing by, suddenly spoke up with a hint of mischief in her tone: "It just so happens that I have some rare materials that I need to deal with on my own."
The two smiled at each other and accepted the arrangement somewhat helplessly.
Ron took Tracy to the small lounge at the back of the herbal medicine shop, a simple but warm space with a window overlooking a small courtyard filled with various medicinal plants.
He poured each of them a cup of fragrant herbal tea, which was a light amber color and exuded an invigorating aroma.
"You've changed so much." As soon as she sat down, Tracy said straight to the point, looking directly at Ron with her bright eyes:
"From a sixth-grade candidate apprentice in a difficult situation to a junior apprentice now, I heard it's because you are very talented in potions?"
Ron smiled slightly, not offended by the girl's frankness. "I just work harder. Unlike you, you are born with the third-class spiritual talent and are destined to achieve extraordinary success in the future."
Tracy took a sip of tea, a complicated look in her eyes.
She put down her teacup, tapping her fingers lightly on the rim. "Everyone has their own path. I am indeed lucky to be noticed by Teacher Corinna, but this 'luck' comes at a price."
Ron nodded gently, expressing his understanding. Every bit of power and status had its corresponding price. There was no free lunch; this was the most basic law of the extraordinary world.
"Speaking of which, how is Andre doing lately?" Tracy suddenly asked, with a barely perceptible hint of concern in her voice, although her expression still maintained that arrogant indifference.
Ron was stunned for a moment, but he quickly remembered that Andre had mentioned to him before that he had tried to pursue Tracy, but was rejected directly by her.
"He's very good. Although his progress in cultivating his spiritual power isn't particularly ideal, his talent for knight training is indeed extraordinary."
He could only answer truthfully, even though it wasn't something he couldn't bring himself to talk about. "He's been concentrating on practicing breathing techniques lately, and his progress has been quite smooth."
Tracy nodded slightly when she heard this, a trace of worry flashing in her eyes:
"Listen, Ron, I know you've been getting closer to Andre lately. I don't mean to interfere with your choice of friends, but I still want to remind you to be careful with the royal family. They are all very calculating. Especially guys like Andre who seem gentle, but they are often the most scheming."
"I understand." Ron looked into the girl's eyes, a smile appearing on the corner of his mouth.
"In the Black Mist Jungle, everyone has their own plans. Instead of worrying about being schemed against, it's better to enhance your own value and turn schemes into win-win cooperation."
Tracy nodded in agreement.
"Well said. It's because of this way of thinking that I'm where I am today."
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and said, "Ron, it seems you are much smarter than I thought."
At this point, the brown-haired girl hesitated, as if choosing her words: "Actually, besides coming here to get medicine, I also have a personal request."
"What request?"
