Hogwarts: Becoming the White Lord from Breathing
Chapter 83 Dumbledore, You Are So Evil
Chapter 83 Dumbledore, You Are So Evil
"I accidentally discovered an evil artifact. Is this the Horcrux you are looking for?"
Damon took out the diary and placed it on the table.
Dumbledore's eyes widened.
He subconsciously picked up the notebook and said, "Yes, I feel the evil magic and thoughts."
"Thought?"
"Yes, thoughts."
"You haven't studied the Dark Arts, so you may not understand. This is magic that touches the essence of the soul. Voldemort split a part of his soul and instilled it into this notebook along with his thoughts and will at the time."
Damon became interested. "Is it only possible to study the soul through black magic?"
"No, it's just the simplest and most brutal option, but also the one with the greatest impact."
Dumbledore opened the notebook and unexpectedly found a line of text on the blank notebook: "Who are you?"
"This Horcrux—it seems to be very special. Is it true that every Horcrux is like this, or..."
Dumbledore looked at the handwriting in the diary and subconsciously had the idea of talking to Tom. In his heart, he had always been disappointed with Voldemort's fall. Although he had roughly understood the reason for Voldemort's fall, if the words in front of him were related to Tom,
Dumbledore subconsciously picked up the quill and wanted to write in the diary, but a hand suddenly grabbed him from the side.
"Professor, what do you want to do?"
Dumbledore looked at Damon with surprise in his eyes - Damon's face was so tense at this moment that he looked a little indifferent.
"Oh," Dumbledore was startled.
Damon was so on guard that he was stunned for a moment.
He had wanted to say that this was the first Horcrux he had come into contact with, so he wanted to study how Voldemort had created such an evil artifact and what they should do with it.
But after meeting Damon's serious gaze, he suddenly couldn't say it.
"You think I should just destroy it?"
He sensed Damon's intention.
"Of course." Damon's words became sharp, thinking about the fact that Dumbledore would be attracted by the Resurrection Stone on one of the Horcruxes a few years later and would be affected by the dark magic attached to it.
"Professor, has anyone ever told you that you're actually arrogant?"
Dumbledore put down the quill in his hand, motioned Damon to let go, and responded with a smile:
"If that's your assessment of me, then I think I got it."
Damon shook his head. "We don't know much about Horcruxes, nor do we know if Voldemort has added any other tricks to them. Your rash attempt is, in my opinion, arrogant.
I have studied this diary for a while using microscopic magic. It should be able to invade the mind through words and achieve the purpose of controlling the body and mind.
Although you are an expert in Occlumency and won't necessarily be affected, I don't think we need to take any risks."
"Microscopic magic—is that the spell you created? It seems to have more applications than I thought. You have a very flexible mind."
Dumbledore made no attempt to defend himself against the 'arrogant' comment, but instead changed the subject.
However, after Damon said this, he really didn't plan to continue studying this diary.
"Where did you find this Horcrux?"
Damon told Ginny what happened at Flourish and Blotts today, but he did not say that he discovered it on his own initiative. Instead, he pretended to be an accidental discovery by saying that he had given the wrong book to Ginny and wanted to exchange it for it.
"Lucius," Dumbledore whispered the name softly, "Do you know anything about this man?"
"I just know he's Draco's father."
"Yes, that's right." Dumbledore nodded, intending to share more information with Damon. This disciple had actually found the Horcrux before him and was not at all tempted. Moreover, he also refused to learn the Dark Arts. At this moment, Damon was almost perfect in his eyes. If he could slow down his pace, it would be even better.
Dumbledore was no longer worried that Damon would follow in Voldemort's footsteps. Instead, Damon's pursuit of power gave him a headache.
He thought Fudge was a better choice for minister than Damon - if he let someone as opinionated as Damon take that position, Dumbledore was afraid that the future of the wizarding world would be in the hands of one person and could be dictated at will.
"The Malfoy family is an ancient, wealthy, and influential pure-blood wizarding family. Lucius is one of the governors of Hogwarts and a former Death Eater. He worked for Voldemort and accumulated considerable wealth and status during this time. He is a cunning and dangerous man. You must be careful of him.
Now it seems that he is even more troublesome than I thought, as he still has dark magic items related to Voldemort."
"Why doesn't the Ministry arrest him?"
"I'm afraid it's not that simple, Damon.
Lucius had a wide network of contacts. After Voldemort was temporarily eliminated, he claimed that he was under the Imperius Curse, which was why he served Voldemort.
The Ministry of Magic cannot arrest a wizard without solid evidence."
"A lukewarm approach." Damon commented, unconcerned.
"Then if you were the Minister of Magic, what would you do?" He looked at his students with a twinkle in his eyes.
"If I were the Minister of Magic, of course I wouldn't be able to do anything." Damon waved his hand, "But if I were an elite Auror, and accidentally killed a few Death Eaters during the capture process, no one would blame me."
"I think it's best not to do that." Dumbledore said with a soothing tone, "We should follow the rules and judge them by the rules. In Azkaban, they will realize their mistakes."
"Do you think Lucius realized his mistake?"
Dumbledore was silent for a moment, then whispered, "I think that even if someone has lost their way, we should give them a chance to turn back. Moreover, if we handle them well, they can sometimes become our help."
"It's indeed a good help, otherwise it would be really difficult for me to find this Horcrux.
I wonder what Voldemort would think of Lucius if he knew about this."
At this point, Damon and Dumbledore laughed together.
"I'm afraid the picture won't be pretty."
He stood up and took out his wand:
"Have you ever tried to destroy it before?"
"I've tried, but even my most powerful spells can't seem to break it."
"Well, Horcruxes are special. To destroy such an evil artifact, you must use destructive power to destroy it beyond repair."
"It seems that my skills in Charms are not up to par yet."
Fiendfire
Dumbledore whispered a spell, and the red and yellow flames ignited the diary, which burned with a sizzling sound.
At the same time, a terrible, long-lasting, eardrum-piercing scream rang out in the room!
If Dumbledore had not taken precautions in advance, it would have caused a big commotion.
Streams of ink gushed out of the diary, but the red and yellow flames were unaffected, as if they would never go out. They just kept burning until the entire diary was gradually devoured.
As the black gas continued to spread, the diary gradually turned into ashes.
At this time, Damon asked a question that made Dumbledore embarrassed.
"The Fiery Curse? Isn't this dark magic? Professor, how can you know such evil magic?!"
