Hogwarts: Becoming the White Lord from Breathing

Chapter 54: Order of Merlin, Level 2

Chapter 54 Order of Merlin, Second Class

"Damon, if I give it to you, can you take care of it? If you can't do it, I'll have to send it to Romania."

Hagrid looked at Norbert who was clinging to Damon with a sad expression.

But he really had no other choice. The Forbidden Forest was too dangerous now. Even unicorns died in it. If Norbert ran into a bad guy, he might not be able to withstand the threat of the killing curse.

"Oh—of course." Damon agreed.

If Hagrid's feelings weren't a concern, it would have been easier for him to deal with Norbert alone - the answer was already there; he just had to imitate Newt Scamander and use the Invisible Extension Charm to make a suitcase.

However, this is seriously illegal.

But Dimon didn't care.

No one would care about him in school, and he would not make any mistakes outside of school.

If - if he was really unlucky and extremely unlucky, and the Ministry of Magic caught the evidence with a one in ten thousand chance, and was sentenced to Azkaban, he thought he could escape - it would just take some effort and time.

And this is judged based on his current strength. When the day comes that he is imprisoned, who knows how much Dumbledore's strength he will be equal to?
It's impossible to lock him up in Azkaban.

"You can come and see it when I'm settled, Hagrid."

Damon pulled Norbert away from his chest. The little guy protested against Damon's "violence" with cries and scattered sparks, and kept scratching his chest. The sharp claws scratched Damon's delicate lining until it became pilling.

"be honest."

He gave Charmander a slap. Although the little guy didn't feel any pain, he calmed down.

"Well, Hagrid, I still have some follow-up matters to deal with. Bye for today."

When Harry and others saw Damon leave, they immediately stood up and said goodbye.

"Okay, take care of it for me."

Hagrid wiped his tears with a handkerchief and waved goodbye to Damon and others.

As soon as they returned to the castle, they ran into Professor McGonagall and were shocked.

"Oh—Damon, there you are!"

Professor McGonagall hurried forward, excitement evident on her face.

She grabbed Damon's hand, ignored the three little ones behind him, and took him directly to the office.

After the door was closed, Professor McGonagall's face flushed slightly. She seemed unable to suppress her excitement and said happily:
"For your epoch-making contributions, the Wizengamot has decided to award you the Order of Merlin, Second Class!
This is amazing, kid!

After she finished speaking, she didn't wait for Damon's response and said indignantly for him:
"To be honest, based on your achievements, they should definitely award you a first-class medal.

But they actually said that because you're a child, they have to be careful about the impact and can't give you the greatest honor right away. What do you think of this?"

"Don't be angry, Professor. It's just a second level. It's just a small matter."

Damon patted Professor McGonagall's shoulder and responded indifferently, as if he didn't care about the Order of Merlin, Second Class at all - although that was indeed the case.

Daemon has no sense of honor, nor does he believe that the Order of Merlin defines him.

Level 2, level 1, what difference? To him, it was just something that would be easily accessible in the future.

"Oh - it's obviously you who won the prize, but you make it seem like I won it." Professor McGonagall looked at Damon who was calm and suddenly felt that this matter did not make her so excited.

But she thought again, Damon grew up in Muggle society after all, and he was only a twelve-year-old boy now. She thought he didn't understand what it meant to get the Order of Merlin, Second Class.

Well, let him slowly experience this glory in the coming time.

"The new issue of 'Transfiguration Today' will be delivered to the school next Friday. All the pages will be used to introduce the White Laws of Transfiguration that you discovered. You should thank Dumbledore. I don't know how many people envied the naming rights, but he helped you secure them.

In addition, the morning edition of the Daily Prophet will publish the news that you have been awarded the Order of Merlin. By next Friday, you will be truly famous in the wizarding world, child."

Professor McGonagall's expression was a little unnatural.

She had only won the Most Promising Newcomer Award on Transfiguration Today in seventh grade, and the child in front of her? He had already achieved far more than that in first grade, which really made her at a loss for words.

Even when Dumbledore was young, he was not so dazzling!

If Damon was not her student at this time, but an adult wizard, Professor McGonagall would probably add the word "Master" to the end of his title.

"Becoming famous in the wizarding world? Professor, I think it's a given. However, this achievement isn't worth stopping me, is it?"

"Y-yes, of course, that's what I wanted to tell you."

Professor McGonagall nodded in surprise. She really didn't know what was wrong with Damon's brain. How could he remain so calm in the face of praise or criticism?

"So—if there's nothing else, I'll get back to practicing Transfiguration?"

Damon took his leave at the appropriate time.

"Just do what you want."

Professor McGonagall had no further instructions.

She thought Damon would at least act happy, but it seemed like he wanted to continue studying more than celebrating?

Are geniuses always so different?
Professor McGonagall waved goodbye to Daemon, not noticing the Norwegian Ridgeback poking its head out from his chest.

When Damon returned to the common room, Harry and the others hurried to greet him.

They were worried sick.

After all, Damon is carrying a fire dragon!
Seeing Professor McGonagall blocking the castle gate and taking Damon away, they thought Malfoy had not kept his promise and betrayed them, and Professor McGonagall went to hold him accountable.

"Don't worry, nothing happened. The professor didn't notice. She was looking for me for something else."

Damon looked at Norbert to the three of them, then returned to the dormitory with a smile. Harry and Ron quickly followed him - they were both very interested in the dragon and wanted to know how Damon would take care of it.

Shouldn't I keep it in the dormitory?
With this in mind, they felt quite complicated—they were both very excited and a little worried that something might go wrong—like waking up one morning and suddenly finding the dormitory engulfed in flames.

But what makes them feel even more powerless is that no matter what Damon decides to do, they seem unable to muster the energy to oppose it.

The worst that could happen - we'd all be expelled from Hogwarts together.

"What's with that look on your face? You don't think I want to keep a fire dragon in my dorm, do you?"

After Damon finished writing the letter to Slug Ziggs' shop and handed it to the owl Cha Cha Barton beside him, he saw the subtle expressions on the two people's faces.
