Chapter 16 Insights
As I was walking, I saw a traffic jam ahead. A large group of people gathered together and I didn't know what they were selling.

Qiao Xi used his size advantage to successfully squeeze to the front of the large crowd. He saw a group of warriors with murderous looks on their faces selling the spoils of their expedition, with their ferocious monsters next to them. They were indeed experienced warriors who had seen blood, and even in such a busy city, there was still a murderous atmosphere.

"What are you selling?" Qiao Xi asked curiously to the aunt who was also eating watermelon next to him.

The aunt looked at Qiao Xi, and seeing that she was young and wanted to show off, she gestured for Qiao Xi to look at the team's flag: "This is a subordinate team of the Two-Headed Wolf Expeditionary Group selling spoils.

Their group is one of the most important expeditionary groups in Chaoyang City. Every time they return from an expedition, they transport most of the valuable items to the more prosperous cities in the north to sell. The smaller amount of items that are difficult to transport and are not very valuable are auctioned in this city or set up stalls here, and the highest bidder wins.

"Anyway, they are very powerful and no one dares to rob them. All the good stuff is sold on the spot. We can just watch the fun and can't afford to buy anything." After the aunt said this, she looked intently at the two buyers in front of her who were haggling over prices. She took out a handful of melon seeds from her pocket and gave a small handful to Qiao Xi. The two of them ate the melon seeds in silence.

What the two men were fighting over was the essence of the fruit of some kind of magic fruit tree. The fruits of ordinary magic fruit trees would contain some energy essence and have some special effects, but the effect would not be obvious if the amount was small.

But the essence of this fruit contains the energy of more than a hundred magic fruits in one piece, which is of great benefit to both people with special abilities and magical beasts. No wonder these two people are fighting for it so fiercely.

"But this fruit was also brought by other expedition groups last time, so it's not that precious. Otherwise, they wouldn't have left it here to sell. They would have taken it away long ago." The aunt spit out the melon seed shells in her mouth and added to Qiao Xi.

"How can we grow the essence of the fruit?" Qiao Xi asked unconsciously.

"Wow, you're quite ambitious." The older woman teased Qiao Xi with a smile, "I heard that the essence of this fruit requires the magic fruit tree to be in a very nutritious environment, with all its needs met, and without pests or competition, in order to produce fruit.

Artificially grown fruits generally can't meet their needs. Most fruit essences are obtained from primeval forests or other secret spaces. I haven't heard of any farm growing them in Chaoyang City."

The aunt didn't laugh at Josh's silly question, but told him everything she knew.

"Oh." Josh nodded. This means that only when the highest level of requirements of the magic fruit tree are met can the essence of the fruit be produced.

Well, it seems her little farm is still far from being enough.

Seeing Qiao Xi's silence, the aunt thought that she had hit the farm girl hard, so she quickly encouraged her, "Don't be discouraged. I'm just saying that we don't have any in Chaoyang City, but I heard that there was a top farm in Coral Harbor in the giant city to the east that once harvested the essence of coral fruit.

Maybe you will be the first one among us." The aunt patted Qiao Xi and made a little joke with her.

Qiao Xi was happy, raised his hand, and promised the aunt: "Thank you for your good words, I promise to complete the task."

"Hey, little guy, I have to make good friends with you in advance. If the result comes, don't forget to call me to come and see the fun."

"Haha, okay."

While the two were chatting, the price war between the two people in front had reached a white-hot stage.

"Eighty-eight thousand. If you sell it to me, Doruba, I will give you an extra 200 cans of supplies for the next expedition." said the factory owner, who was smartly dressed and slim.

"This is the cannery owner. He raises a herd of sharp-toothed pigs. They say that animals fed this fruit essence grow dramatically in size, and the essence is passed down to the next generation. Although the effect wears off after three or four generations, it's still a good profit for him. One pig can grow an extra hundred pounds, and for a herd of them, that's a lot of money." Someone nearby was whispering, and Josh was listening in. "Sto, could you please not be so stingy? 88,000? Have you been raising pigs for so long that you've become a pig-brained, poor bastard? Doruba, I'll give you 100,000!" another portly businessman with a delicate mustache said disdainfully.

One hundred thousand! Wow, although the fruit essence is indeed precious, but just for this one, they are asking such a high price, are they fighting or buying goods?

"Greven, stop talking nonsense. What's the point of buying them? They're just a bunch of weaklings in your family. Even if they eat ten more, it's useless. Stop talking nonsense. I'll give you 105,000 and 500 cans."

"Poor bastard, if you can't afford it, don't embarrass yourself here. You're even using canned food to make up the difference. 120,000!"

"You!" The factory owner looked at Greven hatefully. If looks could kill, he would have been killed hundreds of times.

Doruba is the iron-blooded warrior. He doesn't care about the dispute between the two people at all. He only needs to sell it to the person who offers the highest price. It doesn't matter who that person is.

It's no use building connections, he only cares about money.

"Okay, it's yours." Doruba threw the essence of the fruit into Greven's hand and signaled him to pay.

After Greven happily paid the money, he was thinking of showing off to Sto.

Then I heard Sto say in a mocking tone: "I didn't expect there are idiots like you. Don't you know that I bought two of these fruit essences for 120,000 when the expedition came back last time? You think you made a lot of money, hahahaha."

Sto and the people around him mocked loudly, which made Greven's face, which was just flushed, turn red with anger.

"These two are old enemies. The Stowe family has been raising fang-tusked pigs for canning for generations. This Graven also raised a group of black pigs to compete with him for business. I heard that the quarrel was very fierce." The aunt leaned close to Josh's ear and whispered with her hands behind her back.

With this inside story, it’s no wonder that the two of them spoke in a sarcastic tone. Qiao Xi quickly stuffed a melon seed into his mouth and ate the melon.

But perhaps because he had suffered a great loss, Greven felt embarrassed to stay any longer, so he squeezed through the crowd and left in a hurry without saying anything back.

Dorudo and his friends didn't pay any attention to this little episode, but continued to introduce the things on their stall.

After all, they are brought back from outside, and not everyone may know the effects.

However, the things that came later were not as lively as the ones just now. Basically, people bought them after making a bid, and few people bid again.

After basically selling all the rare items, Dorado and his other teammates moved the things down from the giant animal cart in the back. These were common goods in large quantities, and they didn't have time to wait and sell them slowly, so they took them all out and sold them at a price that didn't make a loss.

This time, Qiao Xi saw what he needed: a few milk jug trees tied together like straw.

Seeing that no one spoke, Josh asked tentatively: "Captain Dorudo, how much are these milk pot trees for?"
