Chapter 361 Identity

Chapter 361 Identity
I underestimated you!

The man slowly walked up to Guard Li, his leisurely demeanor suddenly diminishing, and his face no longer showing the relaxed and carefree expression he had before.

Watching his people fall one by one, it would be a lie to say he felt nothing; but it wouldn't be accurate to say he was particularly worried or nervous.

People who are used to a leisurely life naturally have some reliance on others, and he is no exception.

Looking at the people in front of him, each of them was covered in blood, their hair was disheveled and covered in dust, mixed with blood and sweat, some of which belonged to others and some to themselves. They were completely different from their previous neat appearance.

However, even these disheveled individuals were an eyesore to him.

"It's alright! Everyone serves their own master. You killed my brother, so you can't blame it all on you." He glanced at the group, looking into their angry eyes, and smiled. His tone was so relaxed and indifferent that it seemed as if he were talking about something completely unrelated to him, as he tried to "comfort" them with feigned ease.

The look in his eyes was filled with a ruthless desire to tear him apart. Li, the guard, and the weary Jiang family guards behind him wanted to do the same, and the person watching them with a smile felt the same way!
He desperately wanted to grab Li Huwei and his gang, tear them apart, and crush them one by one. However, he knew he couldn't do that. He wanted to vent his anger, but not now. He had to endure it now; he wanted more, and only by enduring could he achieve that.

He decided to swallow his anger for now. He didn't know the true identities of the group in front of him, so he would never act rashly.

"Things have escalated to this point, it's really not a good look." He waved his hand, signaling his brothers who were surrounding Jiang Yuan and Lou Xingman to move aside. "How about this, let me introduce myself. Um... I'm the eleventh among the brothers, and I usually manage some miscellaneous affairs. The brothers all call me 'Deputy Commander'."

"Eleventh Regiment Commander, may I ask which mercenary group you belong to?" Jiang Yuan stepped forward and inquired.

“I am the deputy commander. There’s no need to be so polite, just call me ‘Eleventh Brother’!” He corrected Jiang Yuan’s address, smiled faintly, and maintained his superficial politeness. “As for the mercenary group I belong to, we don’t have a fixed name. We just go wherever we want.”

Jiang Yuan nodded: "Okay, Eleventh Deputy Regiment Commander." He emphasized the word "Deputy" and pointed it out at the man.

Hearing what the man said, he immediately understood what the deputy commander meant. Their nameless mercenary group probably ate wherever they went, and the number of villages they had harmed was likely considerable.

This means that their background is probably not simple. It's not easy for someone who isn't a local to be so well-connected.

"It seems this matter won't end easily today," Jiang Yuan thought to himself.

The words "deputy regimental commander," which had been deliberately emphasized, sounded rather ironic to him.

He smiled and said to Jiang Yuan, "Why don't we talk again? There's no need to escalate to this point."

The man under the hood made no comment, neither nodding nor denying. He continued, "Since you don't want to reveal your identity, I won't ask any further. However, today's events still require an explanation so that I can go back and give you an account." He smiled again, looking troubled, "After all, this mercenary group isn't just mine alone."

"Deputy Commander, state your terms!" Jiang Yuan said calmly.

Then Eleven laughed again: "Look! You've killed so many of my brothers, so naturally we can't just do what we said before. Why don't you come with me?"

"Take a trip? Where to?" Jiang Yuan raised his eyelids slightly.

"You'll know when we get there." "Okay, I'll go with you, just me."

Eleven shook his head, then laughed again: "That won't do!"

"What? You think I alone aren't enough?" Jiang Yuan took two more steps forward. "Take me back, and you'll have made your money today. Take him in and escort him back with you, so there won't be any mistakes."

While Shiyi was still trying to decipher the meaning behind his words, the other party spoke again.

"Those people over there, there's no need to hide anymore." Jiang Yuan pointed to the side, his tone still calm, but his aura was somewhat frightening.

Upon hearing this, Eleven suddenly came to his senses: "When did you find out?"

Jiang Yuan smiled but remained silent. Instead, she said, "I know what you're doing, and you don't need to doubt my worth. As long as I'm willing, I can satisfy whatever you want."

Eleven frowned slightly, a sense of unease creeping into his heart—a feeling he rarely experienced.

"As long as you do as I say." Jiang Yuan's attitude was firm, and there was not a trace of panic in his tone.

Eleven felt increasingly uneasy, sensing something was amiss. He stared intently at the person before him, trying to discern a flaw in their demeanor. "Who exactly are you?"

"When we get there, we'll find out." Jiang Yuan's tone had become light and cheerful, as if he didn't take the people in front of him seriously at all, nor did he take this robbery seriously. He didn't show the slightest bit of fear.

"I think you don't want to live anymore!" The man holding the torch was dissatisfied with Jiang Yuan's attitude and glared angrily at Jiang Yuan.

Seeing several people trying to rush forward, Eleven angrily shouted, "No manners! Go back!"

This time, his tone lacked its previous calm and leisurely quality; he was clearly flustered.

Jiang Yuan did want to be alone with them, but it wouldn't be true to say he had no worries at all. After all, he didn't know the details of this mercenary group or the power behind them, and he didn't want to offend them rashly.

Even seemingly insignificant forces should not be easily provoked, otherwise the trouble they bring in the future may far exceed one's expectations. He was well aware of this.

But now is not the time for him to think about these things. With no other way to go, for the sake of his family and the Jiang family, he might offend whoever it may, but he'll deal with the future later. He'll just have to take it one step at a time.

He thought to himself, analyzing the current situation. His most important task now was to scare these people away. If his identity was exposed, he would have to do everything in his power to eliminate them completely and prevent future troubles.

"My men are ignorant, please don't take it to heart." Eleven forced a smile: "In that case, we will do as you say."

As soon as he finished speaking, Eleven quickly glanced at the Jiang family's guards, pointed out a few people, and instructed, "It's getting late, you few stay here, it'll keep you company." Then, he looked at the rest of his brothers and simply said, "The rest of you, come with me!"
