A farming master in Stardew Valley
Chapter 842: Old and Shameless
Chapter 842: Old and Shameless
After setting up the barrels, Leon left the cabin, carrying his axe and heading straight for the secret forest.
After walking around, he didn't find many missed hardwood stumps. After harvesting six hardwoods, and not seeing Brother Bear come out to say hello, Leon left the secret forest.
Back at the farm, Lyon thought for a moment and prepared to talk to Lewis about the work remuneration issues at two work sites in the newly developed railway area. By the way, he also completed Mr. Qi's commission and stuffed ten beetroots into Lewis' refrigerator.
Carrying beetroot, Lyon ran towards Pelican Town as soon as he went out. Since he had unlimited energy, Lyon had given up the convenience of traveling by bicycle. He would not get tired when running, and his speed was much faster than that of a bicycle. He could also adapt to various terrains. With all these advantages, bicycles were completely incomparable.
Fortunately, Lewis was not out making rounds of the districts today, but was tending to the flower beds outside his house.
"Good morning, Leon, are you running?" Lewis greeted Leon enthusiastically as he saw him jogging over.
"Good morning, Lewis, but I'm not running, I have something to talk to you about." Leon explained.
"Then let's go inside and talk."
Lewis put down the scissors in his hand, took Leon into the house, found a chair, and made a cup of tea for Leon.
He didn't prepare the most commonly used coffee because he knew that Leon didn't like coffee very much.
"Is the railway area completed?" Lewis asked impatiently after sitting down.
"No, I came here to ask you about the salary issues for the bathrooms and platforms in the railway area, as well as the arrangements for recruiting a few employees." Leon shook his head and said, "After all, I'm not sure about these things, and I can't convince others to leave their current jobs and switch."
“Uh, you’re not planning to poach Emily, are you?” Upon hearing this, Lewis’ first reaction was that the person Leon was communicating with was Emily.
"No, he's an employee of Joja's supermarket. He and I have a good relationship. Besides him, there are also Sam and Shane." Leon explained.
"Do you want to poach people from Joja's Supermarket? After all, Joja's is also a part of the community. Although it is an outside company, it also provides many jobs and shopping options for the people of Pelican Town. This is a bit inappropriate." Hearing this, Lewis reminded reluctantly.
Although he didn't like Joja's supermarket very much, it was still a major taxpayer. Although most of the things sold there were of average quality, they were cheap and had a reason to exist.
"It's not necessary to poach them. I just want to change a friend's job. And since he poached Morris' employees, he can continue to recruit, and he should recruit nearby. The job will most likely remain in Pelican Town, right?" Leon retorted with a smile, and then explained Claire's situation.
"Hiss, 17 hours of work, and she's not from Pelican Town. She needs extra time to commute. Does that mean she has time to rest? No wonder you have to think about her. If this goes on, it will be terrible." Lewis took a breath when he heard about Claire's situation, which Leon was paying close attention to.
During this working time, Lewis had to say that Morris from Joja Supermarket was really cruel. This was not work, this was a matter of life and death.
"But we don't know what the railway area will look like after the renovation. We don't know the passenger flow and revenue, so the initial salaries might not be very high. Is your friend Claire really willing to give up the high salary at the Joja family?"
Sympathy aside, Lewis still needed to explain the actual situation to Leon. "What's your planned salary?" Leon asked.
"1200G." Lewis replied. It's not much, but not too little either. At least it is definitely enough to maintain daily life.
"Deduct it from my dividends. If it's not enough, I'll make up for it. Let's raise it to 1800G. If the railway area is not enough, we can take it from the bus." Lyon suggested.
"Well, that's no problem. It's a special treatment. I'll talk to her and ask her to keep her salary secret from other people." Lewis made the decision immediately. After all, Lyon had made up the money, so he naturally wouldn't give her face.
"It's the same price for everyone else, right? The bus dividends should be enough."
Lyon continued, saying that he didn't want to make any special arrangements. As long as Lewis didn't recruit more than six employees, the monthly dividends from the bus would be enough to pay for the extra salary. Lyon was certain of this.
Lewis glanced at Yanang after hearing this and found that his expression was normal, as if he really didn't care about the dividend, so he nodded: "Okay."
"What about staffing, time allocation, and holiday arrangements?" After resolving the salary issue, Lyon and Lewis continued the discussion.
"The public bathroom is expected to recruit two people, one for the morning shift from 2 am to 7 pm, and one for the afternoon shift from 14 pm to 14 pm. There will be three people at the station, divided equally into 21 hours, with each person working eight hours."
Although he had not yet seen the specific conditions of the developed railway area, there were templates for Lewis to refer to in other places, whether it was the work conditions of public baths or train platforms. After a quick check of the information, Lewis made a work arrangement according to them.
"Where do you plan to assign that girl named Claire? I personally suggest putting her in the public bathroom. It will make the job easier."
"Then it's up to you. Except for Claire, you can arrange the other four positions. Give priority to communicating with Sam and Shane." Lyon didn't have any ideas and said that Lewis could make all the decisions.
"Well, no problem. I will talk to Shane and Sam. This job is much easier than their current jobs at Joja's supermarket. They shouldn't refuse." Lewis was also very happy. With Leon's funding, the job in the railway district was already well paid. For such a good job, according to the per capita income of Pelican Town, there was no need to worry about a lack of applicants.
“Leon, you go and inform the girl named Claire yourself.” When he said this, Lewis blinked at Leon with a playful expression on his face.
"I just want to help her, I don't have any other ideas. Lewis, you know, I have a girlfriend." Leon complained to the shameless old Lewis in a bad mood.
"Of course, I just think you are more familiar with her. If you don't want to, I can invite her." Lewis changed his words.
"Thank you for your help. One more thing, don't say that I raised the salary." Lyon nodded and added.
"No problem," Lewis assured.
Leon didn’t say anything else, but got up and walked to the refrigerator that Lewis placed in the living room, opened it, and then, under Lewis’s puzzled eyes, took out ten beetroots and stuffed them into the refrigerator.
