A farming master in Stardew Valley

Chapter 824 Ancient Story

Chapter 824 Ancient Story
"Grandpa, are you home?"

At the northern foot of the mountain, outside a tent in front of a high ground on the hillside behind Robin's house, Leon was shouting while holding a watermelon in his hand.

After all, no one knows what Linus is doing. If he breaks into the tent and sees something he shouldn't see, Leon will feel that his trip would be in vain.

But to Leon's surprise, after shouting for a while, Linus did not appear.

Standing at the bottom of the slope and looking towards the lake at the entrance of the mine, there was no trace of him. It seemed that the old man was not nearby.

Just as Leon was about to look around, Linus walked out from a bush in the north with a dark face.

"Are you going to solve the sanitation problem?"

The location and expression of Linus made Leon think of a possibility.

"Get out of here, don't you see this thing?" Linus rolled his eyes and then pointed at the yellow safety helmet on his head.

"I see. I thought this was a special costume to maintain disguise. So you really went to the construction site?"

Leon had actually noticed the safety helmet, but he didn't think that Linus wore it for safety.

Apart from anything else, as long as it is not a natural disaster at the level of a landslide, it is hard for Lyon to imagine that a falling brick can hit Linus. The existence of this helmet is simply an airtight burden to Linus.

"There's no other way. I'm asked to do this, so it's hard to refuse. If you have something to say, tell me quickly. If not, get out. I'm still busy." Linus urged Leon impatiently, glancing at the watermelon in Leon's arms.

"It's a gift, a freshly grown watermelon. Try it and see if it's sweet." Leon immediately came over and offered the watermelon: "If you like it, I have more here. It's enough for you to eat."

"Have the melon seedlings on those farms really borne fruit? I thought we would fail." Linus was no stranger to watermelons, and he also knew that there were watermelon seedlings on Leon's farm. After all, he was the one who took care of the crops on Red Star Farm during the days when Leon was missing.

He just didn't expect that these watermelons could actually bear fruit, and it seemed that the growth and the origin of the fruits were much better.

"Yeah, I don't know why. Maybe it has something to do with the soil that was delivered with the watermelon seedlings, or maybe it's because of grandpa's help. All the crops on the farm matured overnight yesterday. Have you found the reason?" Leon was not sure about this, so when he spoke, he did not forget to ask Linus if he knew.

"It's probably related to the soil. The fairies' magic only accelerates the growth of plants, but has no other effects." Linus explained.

"But the old man did a great job, summoning so many fairies to ripen the crops on the entire farm. I'm afraid he was preparing a reserve of melons for your summer carnival."

"Well, the church has already inspected the goods. A bishop named Owen even revealed that I've been selected for an award thanks to those melons. I'm not just here to deliver the watermelons, I also want to inquire with you about the Summer Carnival."

Leon admitted, explaining his purpose and what had happened at the farm. "Nothing much to ask about. It's just a celebration. It happened to coincide with the church's maintenance of the protective barrier, so they put it together for a viewing. Someone will pick you up at the venue. Remember to dress appropriately and follow the instructions laid out by the church," Linus explained nonchalantly.

"Will you go?" Leon asked.

"I don't know. Although there's an invitation, I'm not very interested in this kind of event." Linus shook his head and said with some disdain, "It's called a carnival, but it's just a cocktail party where a bunch of people socialize. It's pretty boring."

"Go ahead. I'm afraid of making mistakes if I go alone. It will be much easier with you taking care of me." Leon encouraged Linus with a smile.

"We'll see when the time comes. Even if I don't go, Rasmodes will go. It's the same if you ask him. I'm an idle staff member, but he has job requirements." Linus added.

"We'll talk about it when the time comes." Lyon was relieved when he heard the news. With Rasmodice backing him up, it was an extra layer of security. It would be much easier if someone was backing him up.

"Anything else? If not, I'll continue supervising the work. Come back to my place later, and you'll see a road leading to the railway, a newly built station, and bathhouses built using those hot springs as a base."

After answering Leon's question, Linus planned to slip away. After all, the railway needed him to keep an eye on things. Those workers were not ordinary humans. If they sneaked into Pelican Town without his supervision, it would be troublesome.

"I have another question. Do you know the origin and story of Baile Soup? I heard from Mani that Baile Soup doesn't seem simple. It seems to contain some special ritual function?" Leon hurriedly asked the second question he came to Linus for.

"Bai Le Tang, this is a long story. Forget it, come with me to the railway and we can talk while we walk."

Linus really knew the story of the Potato Soup, but because he was in a hurry to go back, he didn't explain it clearly to Leon here. Instead, he asked Leon to go back to the railway together and talk on the way.

Lyon didn't have any urgent arrangements, so he just followed Linus's footsteps and listened to Linus' explanation.

The story is long, but very interesting.

To sum up, when the Stardew Valley was still a wild land, a meteorite fell and changed the natural landscape and geological structure of Stardew Valley. The huge movement made many people turn their attention to this area that had never been set foot in by anyone.

Later, people discovered that the land here was fertile and rich in minerals, so some desperate miners and farmers gritted their teeth and came here to seek opportunities and wealth.

It is similar to the gold rush in the West, but not on such an exaggerated scale, and the natural resources of Stardew Valley are not attractive to most people, so not many people came to Stardew Valley to open up the wasteland at the beginning.

These people did not bring enough supplies to live here, but they did not want to give up these mineral deposits that could change their lives, so the pioneers of Stardew Valley divided into several teams and began to live together in this new area.

Some people started planting with the seeds they brought, some took weapons to hunt in the mountains, and some stayed at the seaside to fish. They also transported the minerals mined by the remaining group in exchange for other materials and money to transform this area and build their new homes.
