A farming master in Stardew Valley

Chapter 797: Overthinking?

Chapter 797: Overthinking?
"knock off!"

Straightening up to stretch his aching spine, Lyon looked at the fields that were expanding again and felt a great pressure.

The land is being cultivated more and more, almost occupying a quarter of the farm area. If it continues to expand like this, Lyon feels that the right side will also be included in the planting area. That is the industrial area that Lyon plans to reserve for building small houses and placing wine barrels.

Lyon immediately decided to limit the amount of cultivated land to this point, because he would not be able to handle any more.

However, planting the land does not mean that everything is fine. Lyon still has to build a few scarecrows to scare away those damn crows, otherwise the melon seeds he planted with great effort will definitely become food for these bastards.

Just as Lyon had placed the scarecrow, he heard someone calling him again.

"Leon!"

"Huh?" Turning around, Leon saw Emily standing in front of the house with a basket in her hand.

"Emily?"

Leon was completely unexpected about Emily's appearance and immediately went to greet her.

"what happened?"

"I heard you were very busy today, so I thought you must not have time to prepare lunch, so I came over to bring you something to eat."

Emily looked at the large piece of cultivated land and the seeds that had just been planted in front of her, and knew that Leon was not perfunctory to her, but he was really busy today. She immediately breathed a sigh of relief and explained.

"Thank you. Then why don't you come over? What about the party?" Leon asked pretending to be ignorant.

"It's cancelled. Haley and the others went shopping in Zuzu City, and you're not coming. How can we have a party if it's just me?" Emily sighed helplessly.

"Is that so? That's a pity." Leon said with a dry laugh after hearing Emily's answer.

"Red Star Farm is so beautiful now. I still remember how wild it was when I passed by it before." Emily smiled and praised Leon.

"It's not really beautiful, after all, I didn't decorate it much." Lyon replied with a shrug. Although the farm has now begun to take shape, it is not beautiful at all. Lyon is a pragmatist. He didn't even pave the stone roads connecting the various areas. Basically, everything maintains its original appearance.

"This is natural beauty," Emily said affirmatively, then picked up the basket.

"Have some. I made some tequila cakes. I originally planned to have them as dessert. If you don't eat them soon, they'll go bad easily in this weather."

"Um, okay, let's go inside. It's too sunny outside."

When he heard the name, Leon felt a little timid. Generally, alcohol-containing cakes only add a little bit of flavor, but when he thought of Emily's dishonesty, Leon felt that the alcohol content in this cake was probably much higher than the flour.

But Emily had already delivered it to his door and said so to Leon with a smile, so Leon would feel embarrassed to let someone take the things back.

"Ah."

Emily immediately stood outside the door, waiting for Leon to enter first.

After entering the house, Leon motioned Emily to sit down first, and he went to the bathroom to wash his face and rinse off the dirt on his hands. When he walked out of the bathroom, he found Emily on the sofa, and the tableware and the small oval cake as the main course had been set.

“Eat something first.” Emily greeted Leon immediately when she saw him coming.

Leon didn't say anything. He sat down on the sofa, picked up a small cake, sniffed it first, and only smelled a faint aroma of wine, not too strong, so he dared to take a bite.

The first thing you feel is the sweetness of the agave coating mixed with maple syrup, which has a unique agave aroma and a little bit of spiciness, but it also highlights the sweetness of the maple syrup. Then comes the soft bread, mixed with the sweet and sour jam, which also has a wine aroma.

Overall the taste was excellent and not as overpowering as expected.

"It tastes very good." After eating a small cake, Leon didn't feel any discomfort or any special feeling that shouldn't have appeared. Leon secretly breathed a sigh of relief and praised Emily.

"I learned this on the Cooking Queen show. It's my first time trying it. I'm glad you like it." Emily was very happy to get Leon's approval. She handed Leon a small cake and went to the refrigerator in the kitchen to get Leon a bottle of cold beer.

"There's alcohol in this. I'm afraid I'll get drunk if I drink beer. Let's change to something else. I think ice milk is fine." Seeing the drink Emily brought over, Leon reminded her tactfully.

"Okay." Emily didn't insist and really brought a bottle of ice milk.

The ice milk he prepared at home had not been opened yet, so Leon drank it without any pressure.

"By the way, have you eaten yet?"

"I've eaten." Emily looked at Leon with a smile: "These are all prepared for you."

"Thank you."

After eating another small cake, Lyon still didn't feel anything, so he was no longer cautious. To be fair, this small cake tasted really good, and it didn't have the overly sweet feeling of ordinary small cakes. You won't get tired of it even if you eat a lot.

The perfect aroma of wine and jam, combined with maple syrup, provided a rich layer of taste stimulation, which unexpectedly suited Lyon's appetite.

After eating two more, Lyon felt that he was still quite sober, so he just ate as much as he wanted.

Emily didn't say anything, but just silently admired Leon's eating appearance, with a satisfied smile on her face.

After Leon had eaten his fill, he noticed Emily's expression. He immediately moved his butt calmly, creating a small distance between him and Emily again.

"The cakes are delicious, thank you. I still need to work this afternoon, so I'll take you home first. I'll treat you to dinner next time when I'm not busy here."

"Okay."

Emily decisively agreed to Leon's proposal, and said considerately: "Just send me to the outside of the farm, I will go by myself later and go directly to Gus to prepare for work."

"Ah."

Leon was actually quite surprised to see that Emily had no intention of staying, and wondered if he had misunderstood Emily.

But he didn't show it. He immediately got up and took Emily out and sent her outside the farm.

Seeing Emily really walking towards Pelican Town without stopping, Leon scratched his head.

"It seems I'm overthinking it. People really shouldn't be too narcissistic."

With a self-deprecating smile, Lyon turned around and went back to the farm to continue his work. Although the fields had been prepared and melons had been planted, the crops planted previously still needed to be loosened and fertilized. He had not forgotten the little tricks that Linus taught Lyon to improve the quality of crops.

When Leon started to get busy on the farm, Emily, who had already walked several hundred meters away, suddenly turned around and went back. However, she did not rush into the farm. Instead, she enjoyed the shelter of the shade under a big tree outside the farm, as if she was waiting for something.
