A farming master in Stardew Valley
Chapter 762 Special Gift
Chapter 762 Special Gift
After saying goodbye to Sophia, Leon sent her out of the farm.
Looking at Leon holding an umbrella, Sophia snatched the umbrella from Leon's hand, and then put her sailor hat on Leon's head.
"Anyway, I won't be going out when I get home, so I'll leave this magical hat that can keep me out of the rain for you to use. This way, you don't have to work while holding an umbrella. But the hat is only temporarily lent to you, so remember to return it."
Sophia reminded Leon with a smile.
"Okay." Leon also smiled and accepted Sophia's kindness.
"Let's go. You must be careful. I don't want to see you in such a mess in the hospital."
Sophia, holding an umbrella, warned Leon, then gave Leon a big hug and left the farm briskly.
"This girl." After watching Sophia's back disappear in the rain, Leon shrugged and sighed, then turned and went back into the house.
He continued to throw the driftwood and garbage in the bag into the recycling machine. After harvesting a piece of wood and a piece of coal, Leon sorted out the things in his backpack a little, put some of them into the treasure chest for storage, and took the other part with him and threw it into the shipping box.
This batch of goods is basically the output of crab cages. Except for crayfish, Leon does not plan to keep the periwinkles and snails. He really has not found a way to cook these two creatures, and he is not used to eating them.
After finishing everything, Leon walked on the mud and headed towards the remote forest. This time, he not only wanted to collect moss, but also planned to meet Linus to see if he could get some information about the Rain of Life.
It is indeed difficult to walk on mountain roads on rainy days. The slippery mud can make people stumble if they are not careful.
Fortunately, except for a small path that is often trampled by people, the rest of the remote forest is covered with lush grassland. Walking on it is a little wet, and there are wild grasses to tiptoe on, which makes it much safer.
When passing by the three wild trees where the sap collectors were hung before, Lyon glanced inside the sap collectors and found that no matter how heavy the rain was, the sap collectors were not filled with rainwater. There was only sticky resin that filled most of the container.
On the three tree trunks where sap collectors were placed, the bark of the maple tree had undergone obvious changes. The originally smooth bark was covered with a large piece of dark green soft moss, which tightly wrapped a section of the maple tree trunk, just like a layer of outer coat.
When you touch the moss with your hands, it feels soft and has plenty of moisture. If you press it lightly, a lot of water stains will seep out.
Lyon tentatively pinched the moss and pulled a handful, and the moss easily fell off the trunk and into Lyon's hands.
"Moss (resource): A special plant that grows in the shade and has a wide range of uses."
"Such a big piece is only considered one unit?" After putting the moss into the system backpack, Lyon noticed that the number displayed in the backpack for the palm-sized moss was 1, and he couldn't help but complain.
After all, if this volume of moss is only counted as one piece, then if all the moss on a tree is picked off, there will only be five or six pieces at most.
But moss does not grow on every tree. At least among the four trees in front of Lyon, only the maple tree in front of him has moss attached.
He pulled out all the moss and put it into his backpack. As Leon expected, he harvested five pieces in total.
Although the amount is small, the feeling of pulling out the moss is quite pleasant. The wet and slippery feel is not only very moist but also very silky, just like playing with a stress-relieving toy.
Realizing that the moss wasn't growing as wildly as he'd imagined, Leon began searching the remote forest for traces of moss. While not every tree had moss, the forest was still full of them. Walking from the farm's northern exit to the northern foothills, Leon collected a total of 104 pieces of moss.
In addition, Lyon also harvested wild vegetables that are exclusive to summer.
"Scented Berries (fruit): Fill the air with fragrant aroma."
"Grapes (fruit): a bunch of sweet fruit."
Both types of collectible items are hanging on low shrubs in the forest. The fragrant berries are about the size of lychees, with a skin that is a gradient from orange to red. The whole thing is in the shape of four petals, and its shape is a bit like garlic.
You can smell a distinct fragrance from a distance when you hold it in your hand, which is very similar to the sweetened version of grapefruit.
The grapes are real grapes. Large purple-black grapes are densely packed on a vine. A long bunch of grapes is squeezed tightly together. Each grape is covered with a thin layer of frost, which shows that they are obviously ripe.
However, these grapes do not grow on vines, but hang on bushes. There is only one bunch on a bush. They do not look like vines at all, but they can still produce grapes. It looks strange no matter how you look at it, as if they were spliced together artificially.
But this is Stardew Valley, so Leon was only surprised for a moment and didn't think much about it. After all, there are so many unscientific places in this world.
There are also many single trees growing on the cliffs at the northern foot of the mountain, and these trees also have traces of moss.
Whenever Leon saw moss, he would go over and pull it off.
"So, you're collecting moss?"
"Well, this thing should be quite useful, so I plan to stock up on some."
Hearing the familiar voice behind him, Leon put the last piece of moss into his backpack without looking back and answered at the same time.
"Actually, you can wait until tomorrow to collect it, so that the moss will grow more and faster." It was Linus who spoke. Although he did not hold an umbrella at the moment, the rain automatically avoided him, allowing him to keep his clothes dry.
"I don't know much about the growth of moss. I'm just afraid that the moss will wither once the sun comes out." Lyon explained with a shrug.
"Okay, stop pretending. You just want to ask me some questions. Let's go to the front of the tent and I'll answer you." Linus rolled his eyes at Leon and directly pointed out Leon's little thoughts.
"Hehe." Leon did not refute, and followed Linus's footsteps obediently and came to the hillside where Linus settled. There, the fire pit was lit. Despite the rain, the flames were still very strong, adding a touch of warmth to the fire pit.
Sitting on either side of the fire pit, Linus looked up at the raindrops in the sky and did not speak for the time being.
Leon was not in a hurry and waited silently until Linus took the initiative to speak.
"Leon, you have received the same honor as your grandfather. This rain is a gift specially prepared for you by Mother Nature."
