Chapter 714 Aliens
Chapter 714 Aliens
"I finally got it. It's a pity there's only this one key and no other surprises."
Leon put the Skeleton Key into his backpack and looked at the empty treasure chest and complained.
He originally thought that in addition to the skeleton key, Mr. Qi should have left something else in the box to help Leon find something to do or issue a commission.
However, the skeleton key has been obtained, and Lyon does not plan to stay here any longer. It takes a lot of time to go down 15 levels of the mine in a day. If he stays in the mine any longer, Lyon feels that he may not be able to hold on.
After powering on the elevator to the 120th floor and pressing the button, Leon waited for the elevator to arrive. He looked around again and found that nothing had changed.
When the elevator arrived, Leon entered and pressed the button for the 0th floor. After the elevator door closed, on the 120th floor, which Leon could not see, the six snake-shaped carvings on the wall all came to life.
The six snakes that came back to life raised their heads and stared at the treasure chest whose skeleton key had been taken away, sticking out their tongues. They began to crawl towards the treasure chest one by one. After all of them drilled into the treasure chest, the treasure chest began to weather and completely disappeared into the air. It was unknown whether the snakes that had drilled into it disappeared along with the treasure chest or left here through some kind of magical ability.
On the other side, Lyon, who had already reached the surface, drilled directly out of the mine.
It was completely dark outside, with the faint moonlight barely illuminating the earth. The croaking of frogs could be heard from the lake outside the mine.
After taking out his cell phone, Leon noticed that it was already 11 o'clock at night.
"No wonder I feel hungry. It's so late."
Finding it was almost dawn, Lyon hurriedly walked towards the northern foothills. He didn't have the leisure to wander in the mountains at night. He was busy in the mine all day. The sweat on his body had dried up so many times that it was almost rotten. What Lyon wanted to do most now was to go back early to take a shower, make some midnight snacks, eat a full meal and go to sleep.
"Oh, the old man is still awake?"
Just as he took out his bicycle and was about to ride back, Leon noticed someone staring at him on the hillside. He looked up and saw that it was Linus.
"You haven't slept either, have you? Didn't you just come back from the mines?"
Linus asked, greeting Leon with a smile.
"Well, you have leftovers here. I'm quite hungry now." Since he saw Linus, Leon was not in a hurry to go back. He pushed his bicycle to Linus' tent on the slope and spoke to Linus.
"Have you been having such a hard time lately, begging for leftovers from an old homeless man?" Linus was amused by Leon's words.
"It's quite miserable, otherwise I wouldn't be so busy until now." Lyon shrugged and complained.
"Take it and eat it."
Linus went into the tent and came out after a while with a lotus leaf package and threw it into Leon's hands.
When Leon took the lotus leaf wrapper in his hand, he found that it was still hot. After peeling off the lotus leaf, he could see clearly that inside was a large piece of pork leg drizzled with honey, and it was the kind without bones.
"What a good thing! You can easily take this thing out to get rid of me. Are you really a homeless person, old man?"
As soon as Lyon saw the honey-glazed pork legs, Linus handed him another pair of chopsticks. Lyon was naturally not polite and teased Linus while eating.
"This was originally the midnight snack I prepared for myself, but now I'm giving it to you for free, and you're actually trying to bully me. You have no gratitude at all." Linus scolded Leon angrily.
"We're talking about this, old man. He's not up all night waiting for me, and he's even prepared delicious food. If you have anything to say, just tell me directly, don't hide it." Leon quickly finished the honey-glazed pork leg wrapped in a lotus leaf, licked his lips, and said to Linus. "Why do you think I'm waiting for you?" Linus asked curiously.
"Do I really need to explain?" Leon shrugged and pointed at the lotus leaves that had been eaten and wrapped with something inside, but still had oil and honey residue on them, as well as the bonfire next to the tent that had obviously just been lit. The firewood was only burned to the outer shell, and it was obvious that it had just been lit not long ago.
"Luckily, finding a girlfriend didn't dull your mind. Now, I can talk to you about the skull key you found in the mines."
Linus smiled and asked Leon to sit by the fire, while he sat opposite Leon.
Even though it was a summer night, the night wind from the northern foothills still carried a hint of chill, but the heat emitted by the fire just offset it, making it not hot but warm instead.
"Do you big guys all like to monitor everything in Stardew Valley?"
Before he even told him what he had gotten in the mine, Linus was already ready to talk to him about his gains and even prepared food and a fire. Leon felt helpless.
"I don't have the desire for control that Rasmodes does. I'm just entrusted by others." Linus explained to Leon with a shrug.
"Including the food you just ate, it was all sent to me by the client. He thought you could use this fresh food to replenish your energy after a tiring day."
"Mr. Qi?"
When Lyon heard Linus mention the client, his first reaction was Mr. Qi.
"Well, apart from him, who else would be so bored as to put a sealed key that can open the ruins of ancient civilization in the mine." Linus was not surprised that Leon knew Mr. Qi's information. As far as he knew, although Mr. Qi had never met Leon, they had a lot of correspondence.
"The ruins of ancient civilization?" Leon was stunned when he heard this. If he guessed correctly, the ruins of ancient civilization that Linus mentioned were the Skeleton Mine, but why was the mine called the ruins of ancient civilization?
"The Pyramid Civilization, a civilization left behind by aliens who don't belong to this planet, has a history of several thousand years. Your key is the certificate to unlock the area where the remains of their civilization merge with a mine."
Linus spoke slowly.
"Are you surprised that there are aliens in this world?"
"Not surprising. As far as I know, dwarves are aliens." Leon replied, shaking his head.
"It seems that you have taken my previous words to heart and know that reading books can make up for your lack of knowledge about the world." Linus was quite pleased to hear Leon's answer.
"So, the dwarves and this pyramid civilization are the same group of people?" Leon asked.
"No, the dwarves came to this world earlier than those who created the pyramid civilization." Lainess replied.
"The dwarves are much friendlier than the aliens who built the pyramid civilization. These aliens came to this world solely to conquer. Unfortunately, their ambitions were not matched by their capabilities. They were wiped out within a week of establishing their own civilization."
