Chapter 619: How to Use the Alien Crystal
Chapter 619: How to Use the Alien Crystal
"There's a special creature living in the lava area, and some lucky explorers and miners have often witnessed its movements near the magma.
The Magic Council once conducted a special investigation on this matter, and explorers also tracked the activities and lifestyle of this creature at the same time, and they all came to the same conclusion, that is, this creature does not seem to belong to this world, they come from another dimension.
This creature does not care about its existence when touched or observed, and has never shown any aggression, which led the Magic Council and explorers to evaluate it as a neutral creature. They included it in the species atlas and named it Bone Snake.
Interestingly, there was once a young miner who dug up an ancient doll while working and was frightened by the doll. The fear made him want to destroy the ancient doll, so he chose the magma around the mine as an incinerator and threw the ancient doll into the magma.
The bone snake then leaped out of the lava, swallowed the ancient doll, and left a green crystal for the miner before returning to the sight (as shown in the picture).
The miners took the crystal out of the mine and traded it at the market. This crystal, which was similar to crystal but had the texture of rock and unknown energy, attracted the attention of the magician. He bought it and brought it back to his magic tower, where it became a new research topic.
Ultimately, after extensive experimentation, the mage discovered how to use the crystal he had purchased. Based on its abilities, it was named the Otherworldly Crystal.
This description and picture are all about the ancient doll that Lyon got from the treasure chest on the 100th floor of the abandoned mine. It is the same as the alien crystal obtained according to Mr. Qi's instructions, which also allows Lyon to find the clues to complete the third round of Mr. Qi's treasure quest.
So Leon continued to turn the pages, wanting to see how the alien crystals were used in this book.
However, the next page did not continue to describe the information about the alien crystal, but instead began to introduce another mineral gem called elf stone.
"What a rip-off! You're selling a popular science book before you even finish it!"
Lyon, who didn't find the answer he wanted, cursed loudly and slammed the book "Strange Substances - Gems" in his hand on the table, venting his dissatisfaction with this kind of eunuch-like popular science book that only finished half of the story.
"What's wrong with you?" Abigail murmured, startled by Leon's movement.
"I'm really pissed off by this book. It's only halfway there." Leon picked it up again, flipped to the page he'd just been reading, and pointed at the content. "I was so excited to find some clues about this thing, but it only explains its production, but doesn't go on to describe how to use it. Isn't that infuriating?"
Abigail didn't respond, but instead read through it carefully before explaining to Leon, "It's not surprising. The wizard who discovered the alien crystal only revealed its name, not how to use it. So it's normal that the author of this book didn't know. Is that the way to write about something you don't know?"
"Ah? It's not public?" Leon was stunned when he heard that. He had not thought of this possibility.
"After all, it's something someone painstakingly researched. Most mages value their research results very much, so they keep it to themselves and sell it to interested parties to recoup the effort, materials, and funds they spent on their research. Of course, they won't make it public."
Abigail explained, "This is also the survival rule of a mage that my teacher once told me. It is the value of knowledge. If I can discover or research a new theory or item in the future, then this will be the best guarantee for me to accumulate wealth and materials."
"Intellectual property protection, right? I can accept it if I put it that way."
Lyon can understand this behavior. After all, if there is no protection for scientific research results to obtain the corresponding rewards, no one will be willing to do such thankless work.
Therefore, Lyon supports the mage's non-public behavior. Although it is fun to get something for free, only by supporting the genuine product can sustainable development be achieved.
"Since it was discovered by a wizard, it's easy. We finally have a clue." Leon, who had been at a loss for the alien crystal, finally saw hope. He immediately lifted Abigail from his arms and set her aside. "You continue studying. I'll go to consult Rasmodes about this thing."
Then he stood up and trotted out of the basement, where he found Rasmodes pouring water into the crucible, not knowing whether he was continuing to boil the potion or washing the pot.
"Master Rasmodes, do you know about the Otherworldly Crystal?"
"Yeah, I know." Rasmodes raised his head and replied.
"Then do you know how to use it? Or contact a wizard who knows how to use it, and I can pay the consulting fee." Leon asked immediately.
"Actually, the usage of this thing is already semi-public, so there's no need to pay for information." Rasmodes explained, then looked at Leon: "So, you have an alien crystal in your hand?"
"Yeah." Leon nodded. This was easy to notice. After all, if it wasn't there, who would pay attention to it?
"Then take it out. I have a crystal tower that I built earlier in my basement that you can use. You can try your luck." Lasmodes immediately said to Leon.
"You have this too?" Leon was quite surprised to hear this. After all, he thought this thing was very rare.
"Of course. After all, this is an opportunity to contact another world, so I will naturally not miss it. It's a pity that the portal opened by the crystal is one-way, otherwise I would go and see the world on the other side first." Rasmodes replied.
"I don't have the crystal with me. I'll go back and get it first."
Leon was also very excited when he heard the news. He immediately prepared to leave the Mage Tower and go back to the house to search the box and take out the alien crystal.
But Rasmodis was obviously faster than him, and before Leon could even lift his feet, he had already returned to the outside of the farm house.
After opening the door and entering the house, he found the alien crystal in the box. As soon as he left the house, Leon found that he was dragged into the wizard tower by Lasmodes again.
"Lasmodeus, are you so anxious?" After enjoying the pick-up and drop-off service of the teleportation magic, Leon felt that Lasmodeus seemed to be more anxious than himself.
"I just don't want you to waste too much time going back and forth, and then use the excuse of staying to get a free meal." Rasmodesmodis complained bluntly.
"Forehead."
Leon didn't know whether what Lasmodes said was true or just tsundere, but judging from his tone and expression, it seemed very likely that he was telling the truth.
There will only be two updates today because I have some things to deal with. Sorry, brothers.
