A farming master in Stardew Valley
Chapter 310 The Locked Box
Chapter 310 The Locked Box
Sandy breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this, then looked Leon up and down and complained: “I really can’t tell that you are afraid of death.”
"Nonsense, have you ever seen me committing suicide on purpose?" Lyon asked back.
"That's not the case. It's just that I always see the shadows of some old friends in you, and these old friends are basically fighting maniacs." Sandy continued.
"Then you're wrong. I'm not a berserker. Even if I ate the Star Fruit, the abilities I gained are related to agriculture, not combat skills." Leon gave an example.
"The first one?" Sandy asked.
"Yeah." Leon nodded.
"That's interesting." Sandy was not surprised by the fact that Leon ate the Star Fruit. Instead, he looked at Leon with interest, wondering what he was thinking.
"What about you? How many did you eat?" Leon asked Sandy, thinking of the rating rules he once had to determine whether a person was a big shot based on the number of star fruits he swallowed.
"I haven't eaten it yet." Sandy shook her head and replied, "I'm not interested in the Star Fruit."
Leon didn't say anything. Although he knew Sandy might be lying to him, Sandy didn't want to say it, and he couldn't force her to say it.
Sandy also changed the subject and talked to Leon about Stardew Valley.
During the chat, a girl in a maid outfit walked up to the two of them with a tray. After placing the tray on the table in front of them, the maid girl did not leave in a hurry, but asked Leon.
"Excuse me, are you Mr. Lyon?"
"It's me. Is there something wrong?" Leon asked the girl.
"This is something Mr. Qi asked me to pass on to you. Please accept it." After the maid girl confirmed Leon's identity, she took out a small box from somewhere and handed it to Leon.
After Leon took the box, the maid girl left immediately. Judging from the direction she left, she should be heading to the stairs on the second floor.
"Why don't you open it?" Sandy reminded Leon as he watched him playing with the small box.
"I want to open it too, but the box is locked."
Leon replied with a helpless shrug.
The moment he took the box, the system marked the box's information for Leon.
"Locked Box (???): A gift from the mysterious Qi. It seems to contain something important, but to open it, it seems to require a special key."
After learning from the information on this label, Lyon gave up the idea of opening it.
"Then you can find the key yourself. The boss just likes to create these mysteries for people to guess. He calls it a sense of ritual, but I know he just wants to have fun." Sandy complained as if he was used to it.
"Is it feasible to break it with violence?" Leon asked.
"You can try it." Sandy suggested, looking at Leon with a smile on his face.
"Forget it, it probably can't be opened." Looking at the peculiar patterns on the box and the pale purple metallic luster reflected under the light, but feeling that it didn't have much weight in his hand, Leon guessed that the box was most likely made of iridium.
"It's boring." Sandy looked at Leon with disappointment as he put the box away. After mumbling something, he told Leon to start eating. The food was just like the menu Sandy had given him: steamed dried shark, camel milk bread, angustifolia pie, coconut jelly, and cold cactus salad. All of them were full of desert style and characteristics.
The taste was pretty good, but Lyon didn’t think it was that delicious. However, his desire to eat something fresh was definitely satisfied.
After the meal, there was almost nothing left on the table. Sandy didn't eat much, and most of it went into Leon's stomach.
After eating and drinking, Leon wanted to lie down and relax for a while, but Sandy urged him impatiently: "You should go."
"You want to kick me out right after I've finished eating?" Leon looked at Sandy helplessly, not understanding why her attitude changed so quickly.
"You've already delayed my business for the whole morning, do you want to delay my business in the afternoon?" Sandy asked back.
"I'm just sitting here for a while, how can it affect your business?" Leon protested.
"You'll know the reason when you go out. Remember to help me turn over the sign." Sandy didn't explain, but pointed to the door of Oasis Store and said to Leon.
Leon walked out of the door with confusion, then turned to look at the glass door of the Oasis Store, only to see that a sign had been hung on the door at some point.
"We are receiving distinguished guests, please do not disturb us!"
"."
Leon didn't expect that it was because of this reason. He didn't expect that he was actually a distinguished guest in Sandy's eyes. He suddenly felt a little emotional. Although Sandy looked and sounded disgusted with him, he actually still attached great importance to his arrival.
Lyon, feeling happy, had no intention of going back to bother Sandy. He even helped Sandy turn the sign over, revealing the words on the back: "Open for business as usual."
Meanwhile, Sandy, who was inside the store, looked at Leon's figure outside the door with disdain and muttered, "I thought Emily was here too. I wasted the whole morning for nothing."
Leon didn't know that the distinguished guest on the sign was not actually himself. After leaving Sandy's shop, he started strolling in the central desert.
There was still more than an hour before the noon bus arrived. Leon, who couldn't go back to Stardew Valley for the time being, planned to stroll around the central oasis, get familiar with the route, and look for the entrance to the Skeleton Mine and the dragon's skeleton.
The box sent by Mr. Qi most likely contains Mr. Qi's Club membership card, which allows Lyon to freely enter and exit the second floor of the Oasis Store.
Lyon speculated that Mr. Qi gave him the box to appease him. The subtext was to tell Lyon that he had noticed Lyon. If he wanted to see him, Lyon would have to find a way to open the box.
Therefore, the key to this box may be related to Mr. Qi's test that Lyon himself knows about.
Perhaps when he completed the last step, which was the dragon's last meal, he might be able to get the key from the corpse of this sand dragon.
However, it is a bit troublesome to complete the tasks one by one, so Leon plans to go to the corpse of the Sand Dragon in advance to see if he can bypass the previous links and get the key directly.
The central oasis is very large, far exceeding the map range that covers two screens in the game. And because it is an oasis, there is a lot of vegetation, so it is quite troublesome to find the corpse of the sand dragon.
Fortunately, Leon remembered that the corpse of the sand dragon should be on the hillside, so he just needed to run towards the higher slopes to look for it, and he should be able to find it.
There were not many small hills for people to climb in the central oasis. Soon, Lyon saw the huge corpse of the sand dragon on a high slope near a rock wall.
