Chapter 295 Maybe it’s because of his personality charm
Fortunately, Haley pushed open the kitchen door and came in to break the atmosphere.
Hailey looked at Emily leaning against the cupboard and Leon standing at the sink, and asked puzzledly: "What are you doing?"
"We're talking about what to eat for lunch." Emily didn't mention the previous topic.
"Is Leon cooking again today?" Haley asked Leon.
"I'm not sure. It depends on what Gus thinks." Lyon didn't mind being a chef, but with Gus around, he felt that Gus would not bother him, but would take the initiative to take care of all the kitchen work.
It’s not that Guts has any possessiveness over the kitchen, it’s simply because Leon knows that Guts is the type of person who doesn’t want to cause trouble to others even if he is tired.
"Emily, come back with me. I can't handle Jody alone." Haley stuck out her tongue and asked Emily for help: "After you and Leon left, I became the focus of Jody. I can't handle it anymore."
"Then let's go to the living room first." Emily looked at Haley helplessly, and they left the kitchen together. Leon took a look at the ingredients Emily had prepared in advance in the kitchen, thought about what to do with these things, and then left the kitchen.
Although it was highly likely that he would not need to work in the kitchen, he still had to be mentally prepared. In fact, Leon really wanted to take this opportunity to exchange cooking skills with Gus.
After all, what Guts cooked was really delicious. Lyon's greatest hobby in life was to satisfy his appetite, and he had come up with something special by figuring it out on his own.
But it's still far behind that of a proper chef. I can learn a few tricks from Gus, which will help me improve my cooking in the future.
When Leon returned to the living room, he found that Emily, Jodie and Haley had already started working. Emily was weaving ribbons, Haley was writing a celebratory sign, and Jodie was inflating pink balloons.
Obviously, they were setting up the party decorations. Seeing this, Leon did not hesitate and joined in to help.
But there wasn't much he could do. After all, Jordi and the other two had already divided the work. The most Leon could do was use his height advantage to act as a stand for sticking the balloons together when arranging them.
As the decorations were being set up, other invited guests arrived one after another.
The first to arrive was Robin. She not only brought birthday presents, but also a large portion of freshly cut fruits as souvenirs. These fruits were picked from the small experimental greenhouse built by Demetrius to observe the growth and development of plants. Many of the fruits were not supposed to appear in spring.
The subsequent arrival of Lewis, Marnie, little Jas, and Vincent instantly made the originally empty living room lively.
Next came Caroline and Abigail. Caroline brought two gifts, while Abigail was holding a double-layer pink birthday cake. She looked a little reluctant, but when she saw Leon sticking balloons, her expression instantly relaxed.
Gus was the last one to arrive, and he also brought the most things. In addition to the gifts, he also carried two large insulated boxes in his hands. It went without saying that the boxes contained food that Gus had prepared in advance.
"Haha, I knew there would be a lot of people today, so I got up early to prepare some food, so that I can reduce Emily's trouble." Looking at the other people in the living room who participated in Haley's birthday party, Gus said with a smile.
"Thank you for your trouble, Gus." Emily stepped forward and took the thermal box that Gus brought over. Then she and Gus opened it together and placed the steaming food inside on the dining table.
"Hi, Leon, I thought you would be the last one to arrive, but it looks like you've been here for quite a while." Looking at the balloons hanging on the roof with ribbons trailing behind them, Gus greeted Leon who was busy.
"I didn't have anything to do today, so I came early. I don't like keeping people waiting." After Leon glued the last balloon, he got off the stool, put on his shoes, and explained to Gus. "When you're done, it's my turn. I have to go to the kitchen to see what Emily has prepared." After Gus said this, just as Leon had expected, he immediately went to the kitchen to get busy.
Just as Leon was about to discuss with Gus whether they wanted to go together, he was intercepted by Abigail who suddenly came over.
"I didn't expect you to be invited. It seems you have a good relationship with Emily and Hayley?"
As soon as they met, Abigail teased Leon.
"I didn't expect you to be invited." Leon smiled and asked Abigail, "Aren't you two on good terms?"
"It's just okay. Mainly because my mom has a good relationship with Emily, and she also has some common interests and hobbies with Haley. As for me, I'm just a bonus." Abigail complained.
"If I hadn't seen you, I might have been ready to make an excuse to slip away after giving the gift."
"You two are friends who grew up together. Shouldn't you have a good relationship?" Leon asked Abigail in confusion.
"Then guess why there are only so many people here? None of Maru, Penny, or those boys showed up. Although we're from the same town, everyone has their own social circle, and not all of them are necessarily good friends," Abigail explained.
"Besides, Emily and Haley's families are so well-off. They basically went to aristocratic boarding schools when they were in school, so the opportunities for us to interact were even smaller. If they hadn't chosen to stay in Pelican Town after graduation, we might not even see each other on a regular basis."
Lyon didn't say much after hearing this. After all, he didn't know much about the previous situation. He was just a newcomer who had just moved to Pelican Town for more than a month. His understanding of Stardew Valley basically came from the game. He really didn't understand what the specific situation was in reality.
However, the information provided by Abigail is quite meaningful to Leon. If these girls have a good relationship, some operations may be exposed at the beginning.
"You haven't answered me yet when did you become so close?" Seeing Leon not speaking, Abigail complained.
"Then do you think we have a good relationship?" Leon did not answer directly, but asked Abigail in return.
"It's pretty good," Abigail admitted without hesitation.
"So when did our relationship become so good?" Lyon continued to ask.
"Um, I don't know either. I just became good friends with you for some reason." This question stumped Abigail. She recalled the time she spent with Leon for a long time, and she didn't understand why their relationship suddenly became that of good brothers and good friends.
"That's it, then? I don't know when we became friends." Leon said with a smile, "Maybe it's because of my outstanding personality."
“Bah, shameless.” Abigail complained to Leon with disgust: “I think it’s because you are thick-skinned.”
