Chapter 286 I Have Few Friends
After watching Abigail leave, Leon wandered around wearing a straw hat.
As for the holiday games that Abigail mentioned, Leon was not interested at all because he was not good at them either.
If it was something like throwing sandbags, cockfighting, or playing cards, Leon could go up and try it out, but Leon had never played any of the things Abigail mentioned.
However, Lyon felt a little disappointed to go back to Lyon so early. After all, it was his first festival in Pelican Town, and Lyon still planned to experience it for a while longer.
Perhaps it was nearing dinner time, as most people gathered at Guts's egg buffet table. Leon also joined them, but he didn't eat much.
He wasn't very hungry and came here mainly to watch the eating contest.
Among the contestants, Leon knew one named Alex, but it was obvious that this guy was not doing well. He was so exhausted that he leaned back in his chair and rolled his eyes.
Each contestant has a small wooden barrel next to him, which is filled with boiled eggs and has the JOJA logo on it.
Morris, the host of this eating contest and the Joja family's agent in Pelican Town.
Lyon just watched for a while and then lost interest because this was not a competition he could participate in, and the prize for the champion was a year's worth of unlimited Coke from Joja, which Lyon had no interest in.
"Grandpa, why don't you participate in the competition?" Lyon, who had just eaten something, noticed that Linus was squatting beside the bushes on the grass outside the square, leaning against a maple tree and yawning. He walked over and asked with a smile.
“I can’t eat that many eggs,” Linus replied, waving his hands. “And I don’t like Coke either.”
"But it's filling." Leon teased Linus, "Aren't you pretending to be a homeless person right now? Isn't this a role-playing stage that perfectly suits your current identity?"
"Then do you know that you need to pay an entrance fee to register for this competitive eating competition? How can a homeless person like me afford the entry fee?" Linus asked Leon with a smile.
"I can help you out."
"Stop it. I'm here just to experience the festive atmosphere of Pelican Town. I won't cause any trouble for Lewis. If tourists find a dirty homeless person running around the town, all Lewis's hard work will be in vain. I just want to be a bystander now."
After Linus finished speaking, he opened his eyes completely, leaned against the tree trunk, continued to look at the bustling crowd in the square, and complained to Leon.
"Also, didn't I tell you to stay away from me and not bother me? Why didn't you listen?"
Hearing this, Leon sat down, leaned against Linus, and put his straw hat on his face to cover his face: "Wouldn't it be better if no one could see me this way?"
"You, you." Linus smiled helplessly when he heard this. He actually knew what Leon was thinking.
This guy Leon must have seen that I was hiding in this corner alone and out of tune with others, so he wanted to come and chat with me.
But what Leon didn't know was that if Linus hadn't deliberately let Leon find him, basically no one in the town would have noticed his whereabouts except Rasmodes.
"Do you like this hat?" Since Leon was going to chat with this old man, Linus couldn't refuse Leon's kindness and took the opportunity to ask his question.
"It's pretty good, I like it very much." Leon replied. "Do you like its shape or its special effects?" Linus asked.
"I like them all. It would be even better if there was a winter style."
Leon hinted to Linus righteously.
"Then go find the Hat Mouse. He should have a hat that meets your requirements." Linus would not be fooled. Although he liked Leon, the son of his old friend, very much, it did not mean that he had to prepare everything for Leon.
After all, the child has grown up and owns a large farm that can produce wealth continuously. It is too shameless for him to ask for gifts from an old widower like himself who is about to retire.
"Didn't you tell me to stay away from the Mouse in the Hat?" Leon complained to Linus.
"I'm just asking you to be careful of it, not to stop buying things from it. Most of the hats it has are quite useful to you. If one day it suddenly enthusiastically tries to sell you a hat and offers a very low price, that's when you need to pay attention." Linus explained to Leon unhappily.
"Are you in a hurry to sell the stolen goods?" Leon said with a smile.
"Yes, although it is the son of the wilderness, it still lacks in grasping people's hearts. Except for real fools, anyone who sees its eager look of half-selling or half-giving away will be wary." Linus laughed when he heard this.
"I was overthinking it. Compared to it, you are more like a rat, and a cunning rat at that."
"Old man, this is defamation. I can find a lawyer to sue you." Hearing this metaphor, which was not sure whether it was a compliment or a joke, Leon helplessly "threatened" Linus.
"Then go ahead. I'm already half buried in the ground, so I don't care about these things. But some people may not be able to find anyone to answer their questions in the future." Linus directly counter-threatened.
Unfortunately, neither of them was frightened by the other's threat. After Leon lifted his hat and looked at Linus, they both laughed heartily.
"Well, it's time for you to go. Go enjoy the festival with your friends your age. Don't waste your time on an old man like me." After laughing, Linus pushed Leon with his hand, then signaled Leon with his eyes to look in the southwest direction of the two of them.
Following Linus's instructions, Leon saw Emily and Haley, who were traveling together. They were enjoying lunch at the egg buffet table. Emily seemed to want to try a little bit of everything, while Haley was just eating honey egg bread.
"Can't you give some advice to your same-sex peers?" Leon looked at Linus helplessly and complained.
"Do you have any same-sex friends of your age in this town?" Linus asked.
"Uh" Leon was silent.
Because Linus was telling the truth, he really didn't have any same-sex friends of the same age. As for same-sex friends, he did have Gus and Willy, and Clinton was one, but until now, Leon had not seen Clinton appear near the square.
"Hahaha, I also want to go to another place to continue experiencing this lively day." Linus laughed again when he saw Leon's expression. Then, without waiting for Leon to get up, he stood up and took a few steps, and completely disappeared from Leon's sight.
At this moment, Leon could only stand up, look in the direction of Emily and Haley, think for a moment, and then turn and head towards the farm.
