Chapter 209 Landing on the Island
Chapter 209 Landing on the Island
After eating and drinking their fill, Leon and Willy leaned aside and burped leisurely, while Gus slowly finished his portion of fried cod, which was much smaller than the other two's, and then lay aside with a look of despair on his face.
"This may be the last time I go to sea in my life."
"Aren't you used to it yet?" Willy complained to Gus.
"I don't know, but I feel like I've been thrown into the drum of a washing machine." Gus described his current situation.
"Then you should get some sleep. We'll try to spend the night on the island."
After Willy finished speaking, he began to collect the anchor and start the fishing boat.
Lyon cleared the table and then found a place to sit down.
An hour later, Leon noticed that the outline of an island was visible in the direction Willy was sailing. He immediately stood up and walked over to Willy and asked, "Are we there yet?"
"Yeah." Willy looked at the compass that had begun to spin. "But it's too dark, and I don't know where to land, so we have to use the lifeboat."
"Where is it? I'll go prepare it." Lyon immediately decided to take on the job.
"Leave it to me, just help me drop the anchor." Willy shook his head, drove the fishing boat closer to the island, and started to get busy.
Leon also went to drop the anchor, and when he was done, Willy inflated the kayak.
"You help Gus get on the kayak. I'll bring some things with me in case we can't find supplies on the island." Willy threw the kayak into the water and instructed Leon at the same time.
Leon picked up Gus with one hand and jumped onto the kayak. The weight of the two people almost caused the kayak to overturn. Fortunately, Willy was still holding the kayak's rope in his hand and stabilized the shaking kayak.
After settling Gus, Leon and Willy worked together to load fresh water and canned food onto the kayak. When everything was almost ready, Willy jumped onto the kayak, found a paddle, and worked with Leon to paddle the kayak to the vicinity of the island.
The area where the three landed was a relatively empty beach, so it was quite easy to get ashore. When they got ashore, Guts, who had been listless, instantly became much more energetic.
"It turns out that land is the most reassuring." Gus, who felt much more comfortable, sighed while helping to move things.
In response, Leon and Willy smiled and began to build a temporary camp on the beach.
It would be absolutely dangerous to rashly enter the island to explore at night, so the three of them planned to spend the night here. If they were not afraid that Gus could not hold on, Leon and Willy originally planned to stay on the boat all night.
A simple bonfire was built. Willy found a large piece of palm leaves to spread beside the bonfire as a mattress. Gus was collecting firewood, and Leon, as a combatant, wandered around with a Galaxy Watermelon Knife. After making sure there was no danger, Leon returned to the two of them and said, "You two should rest first. I'll keep watch."
"Leave the first half of the night to me. I've already slept all day on the boat." Gus raised his hand and suggested, "If we encounter any danger, I'll call you first. Leon, you rest for a while. I'll call you in the second half of the night."
"Okay." Leon didn't refuse Gus's suggestion, and lay down on the palm leaves and began to sleep.
After all, if I sleep a little longer, I will feel more energetic in the second half of the night.
After Leon fell asleep, Gus and Willy discussed in a low voice.
"The situation on the island isn't very clear. Unless there are any special circumstances, let him sleep through the night. This will also ensure his physical and mental strength. I'll sleep the first half, and you the second?"
"No problem, you and I want to go together." "Okay, it's settled."
"Well, I'm going to sleep first. Remember to call me."
After a brief conversation, Willy also went to bed, leaving Gus alone sitting by the campfire, listening to the sound of the waves and admiring the sky.
When Leon opened his eyes, he could already see a glimmer of light on the sea. Leon looked helplessly at Willy who was adding firewood to the campfire and complained, "Didn't we agree that I would come in the middle of the night?"
"Hahaha, I got up early and took over. Anyway, there was no threat, so I thought I would let you sleep a little longer." Willy said perfunctorily with a laugh.
Leon didn't say much after hearing this. After getting up and stretching his body, he asked Willy, "Can that directional pointer lead us directly to the treasure hiding place?"
"No, we have to find it ourselves, but when I was at sea, I saw that the island was not very big, so it shouldn't take much time." Willy explained.
"Okay, then you take a rest. We'll set off again when it's completely light." Leon nodded, then urged Willy to rest.
Willy didn't refuse and ran to lie down next to Gus.
Lyon himself began to walk around.
The beach is small and empty. The area behind the beach near the inner side of the island is covered with various low vegetation. However, you can vaguely see a trail that someone once opened up. However, because no one has walked on it for a long time, some weeds and vines have grown on the trail.
However, Leon did not enter the island. After all, Gus and Willy were still lying on the beach. Since he had nothing to do anyway, Leon went to the beach, took out his fishing rod and started fishing.
But maybe the water was too shallow or there were no signs of fish activity nearby, but by the time Gus and Willy woke up, the sun had already illuminated the entire sea, and Leon had not caught a single fish, so he had to put away his fishing rod in embarrassment.
We had canned food for breakfast, which we just had to heat up by the campfire. It consisted of one can of fruit and one can of corn. The taste was average, but it was enough to fill us up.
After finishing breakfast, the three of them started to head towards the island. Leon took the lead, holding the Galaxy Watermelon Knife that had been extended to 1.5 meters in his hand.
Lyon's current physical fitness and strength are enough to control even a three-meter-long Galaxy Watermelon Knife, but the one-and-a-half-meter form is enough for Lyon to deal with various situations, so he did not go all out.
In fact, apart from the green plants, he basically did not see any traces of wild life on the island. The three of them walked all the way to the center of the island without encountering any accidents, which made Leon feel relieved.
In the center of the island is a scattered palm forest, and in the central depression is a small pond filled with rainwater. Apart from that, there is nothing special.
"Should we split up and search?" Since they hadn't encountered any danger along the way, Willy asked Leon, "Starting from here, there are exactly three directions. Pick one. When you find it, call the others directly."
"It's not recommended." Although no accidents occurred, Leon was still worried about letting the two act alone.
"Then let's continue exploring as a team." Gus said.
"Yeah." Lyon nodded, then walked into the palm grove with Willigs.
