A farming master in Stardew Valley
Chapter 195 Fish: I'm Split
Chapter 195 Fish: I'm Split
After saying goodbye to Robin, Leon took out his fishing rod and went to the mountain lake outside the mine.
Instead of following the wooden bridge to the fishing spot for the spring fish king, Leon stood on the shore, took out the red worm, hung it on the hook, and threw it into the water.
The cool breeze from the mountains created ripples on the surface of the lake, and the golden sunlight reflected on the lake, almost blinding Leon's eyes. In order to deal with this situation, Leon could only hold the rod with one hand, and cover his eyes with the other hand, squinting at the fishing float on the lake.
It was not known whether it was due to the rich fishery resources of Stardew Valley or the blessing of the Sea God, but the fishing float began to nod on the water surface within just three seconds of being in the water. It was obvious that there was a fish underground testing the bait on the hook.
Lyon was not in a hurry and waited silently. The fish in the water took the lead in launching an attack and dragged the entire float into the water. At this moment, Lyon, who had been prepared, directly lifted the rod and reeled in the line.
The fish caught on the hook struggled hard, but the force fed back to Leon was not that great. Following the eternal law that great force can produce miracles, Leon directly dragged the fish out of the lake.
As the fish fell onto the shore, Leon immediately stepped forward, grabbed its gills, removed the hook, and admired this silver fish with a short snout and a blunt head, high nostrils and a wide mouth, with its mouth tilted upwards and its body covered with tiny silver scales. Even without the system's labeling, he could tell what kind of fish it was.
"Silver carp (fish): a common freshwater fish, widely known for its voracious feeding habits."
It was a very familiar species of fish. After all, Leon had eaten it before, but that was in the East. In Stardew Valley, silver carp was not so popular.
Because this fish has many small bones and a strong earthy smell, it is difficult to cook it using the cooking methods here.
So Leon threw it into his backpack and continued fishing. Although people didn't like it as a gift, it was the target fish required in the sacrifice bag of the old community center.
There are more than just silver carp in mountain lakes. Maybe the next one will be suitable as a gift?
This time the wait was longer than the previous one for the silver carp, but in reality it only took about forty or fifty seconds before Leon began to wrestle with the greedy fish in the lake.
This fish was obviously stronger and more flexible than the silver carp, but it was still inferior to the giant catfish that Lyon encountered last time. After swimming in the water for just half a minute, Lyon successfully dragged the green fish ashore.
"Largemouth bass (fish): a popular fish that lives in lakes."
Holding the half-meter-long largemouth bass, Lyon nodded with satisfaction. From the system description of the fish, it can be seen that it is very suitable as a souvenir. Although Robin may not like it as a gift, but as food, Lyon thinks Robin should not refuse it.
After catching the largemouth bass, Leon hesitated for a moment, but still threw the hook into the water. He felt it would be a shame not to use the buff that increased the chance of catching the first three fish of the day.
After catching another largemouth bass, Lyon took back his fishing rod with satisfaction. He picked up the larger one from the two largemouth bass and knocked on Robin's door with it.
"You're here so soon?" Robin opened the door and looked at the largemouth bass in Leon's hand, waving his arms in disdain. "Hurry, take it to the kitchen for Demetrius. I don't like cooking fish."
Leon looked at Robin speechlessly and complained: "This is my first time here, how would I know where your kitchen is."
"That's right, hahaha, I forgot. Then come with me." Robin smiled awkwardly, then walked in front and took Leon to the kitchen, while shouting to Demetrius who was busy at the stove.
"My dear, Leon is here, and he brought some fresh fish with him. Do you want to add it to the menu?"
"Leave it to me, Robin, you go and prepare the other things first." Demetrius said gently to Robin. After Robin left, Demetrius complained to Leon with a dark face.
"You seem to like coming here very much, farmer." "Because I need to make money, and Robin is the only carpenter in town. It is impossible for me not to deal with her, scientist." Leon interrupted the words that were about to come out.
This time he was the guest and should give face to Robin who hosted him. And if he really angered Demetrius, the lunch cook, who knew if he would be given special treatment.
After all, there is a saying that goes, there are three professions in the world that you should not offend easily, namely chefs, doctors and teachers.
"The lunch menu has been decided. I don't have time to cook this large-mouth bass. Just knock it unconscious and throw it into the pool." Demetrius also felt that what Leon said was correct. He couldn't find any problems for the moment, so he had to remind Leon sullenly.
"Hmm." Leon pinched the largemouth bass's forehead with his hand and exerted force with his fingertips. Demetrius clearly heard the sound of some hard object crushing.
"Sorry, I used too much force. Looks like I'll just have to kill it and cut up the fish and put it in the refrigerator."
Lyon looked helplessly at the lifeless largemouth bass in his hand, lamenting that he had actually accomplished the feat of splitting the skull with his full strength, but accidentally killed the poor largemouth bass, and he felt ashamed.
As a scientist, Demetrius knew very well how hard the fish's head was, but such high-strength head bones could be crushed by Leon with one hand.
Demetrius couldn't imagine whether his untrained bones could withstand such a method. He immediately spoke in a lower voice and his eyes became clearer.
"Then put it in the pool too. I'll take care of it later."
“Do you need help?” Since he came to eat, even though he brought a gift, the enthusiastic Leon still felt that he should help.
"Can you cook?" Demetrius asked.
"No." Leon lied confidently.
"Then how can you help?" Demetrius asked, looking at Leon speechlessly.
"I can help you try the food." Leon replied seriously.
Of course, this was not because he was greedy, but because he was worried that Demetrius had poisoned the food. After all, one should always be on guard against others, especially someone like Demetrius who looked like a bad guy.
Unfortunately, Demetrius immediately drove Leon out of the kitchen upon hearing this, and gave Leon a very serious instruction.
"Don't hang around, just wait for your meal to be served in the restaurant."
Alas, I said that the sales would reach 10,000 per day in the first month after the release. Now I feel like I have let myself down. I have no time to think and I am just typing. It’s tiring.
By the end of the 12th of this month, I must choose the life of a salted fish.
