Chapter 120 Mission: 05-6 Pass and Stab
On the outskirts of the factory, outside the vortex of the two people's battle, a white-haired girl was squatting quietly on the top of a higher storage tank, watching the fight between the two figures, one red and one green.

It was Lenai, she was following the scent to find "Samael".

She knew the two men had noticed her watching and were looking over. Since they didn't object, that meant they gave Lenai tacit permission to watch. So, she found a suitable spot to observe and absorbedly admired the magnificent battle.

After both transformed, they fought higher and higher, and after several rounds of fighting, the battlefield completely shifted to the air. Nero, capable of flight, fully utilized his arrogant demonic nature, maneuvering rapidly through the air with his wings while creating numerous phantom swords to contain him, and occasionally launching surprise attacks using the Yama Blade or Samael's invisibility.

Dante, on the other hand, unleashed a seemingly endless barrage of bullets from his dual pistols, shooting down the phantom swords, remaining suspended in the air almost solely on the recoil, constantly dodging Nero's attacks with double jumps and teleportation techniques known as "Sky Magic." Meanwhile, he still had the energy to transfer the momentum of his fall to Nero with each close encounter, soaring higher and higher without actually flying.

After repeating this attack several times, both Nero and Dante grew tired of it, a fact they could see in each other's eyes. So, after using "Rebellion" to block another of Nero's space-shattering attacks, Dante took the initiative to shake Nero away, flipping over and landing on top of a refining tower.

Nero did not disappoint him. A faint blue magic burst through the red and black vortex, allowing Nero to transform once again from the arrogant demon, returning to his human form. Nero, with silver hair and red eyes, flapped his emerald green wings and, just as Dante had expected, sang a hymn.

"The seven stars of the first day know neither going down nor going up, and are not obscured by anything except sin!"

As she sang, Nero gently swung the Yama Blade. Following the blade's trajectory, a cluster of phantom swords condensed above her head—exactly seven, no more, no less. Then, the blade in her hand spun, and the seven swords followed suit, following closely behind the Yama Blade. "When it stopped with a roar, everyone turned toward its chariot, as if toward their own eternal peace!"

With a sharp clang of swords, Dante turned his greatsword and thrust it into the tower's summit. He stepped on the hilt of his sword, opened his arms toward Nero, and, seemingly in response, sang a powerful baritone, following Nero's words with a recitative: "My princess! Come from Lebanon and leave with me!"

Nero ascended into the night sky with seven swords behind him, then swooped down in the moonlight, and sang: "I often see that at dawn, the east is filled with roses, and the rest of the sky is as blue as the sea!"

In order to meet Nero's attack, Dante stretched out his hands, drew out all the long swords from the wing-shaped sword box behind him at the same time, and waved his hands to throw them into the sky.

"Blessings to those who come—" he sang again.

The longswords swung by Dante were pinned in the air by crimson magic, forming a dense sword formation. The flowing magic gathered behind the swords into a stream of flame-like light, which looked like a bouquet of roses from afar.

He then sang the second half of his song, and threw a real rose from his hand, which landed gently in the center of the sword formation.

"Ying's hands are full of roses."

Suddenly, the swords pierced through the air exploded like dominoes, starting with the one struck by Rose. The crimson afterglow engulfed Dante and, along with Nero, who had intruded.

The crisp sound of metal clashing was heard, and a moment later two figures flew out from the explosion, apparently neither of them was injured by the explosion.

Nero flapped his wings, steadying himself in mid-air. His blade traced a circle above his head, and countless faint blue stars lit up the night sky. Facing Dante, who had just flipped in mid-air, Nero swung his blade forward, sending a shower of stars down. "Amidst the shower of flowers, I saw a noble lady, staring at me across the river, her face awe-inspiring."

As Nero sang, countless tiny phantom swords transformed into a torrential downpour, enveloping Dante. Dante stepped onto the magical ground, his fists ablaze once again. After a brief build-up of energy, he leaped, his right fist transforming into a surging flaming dragon, colliding with the rain of swords.

Dante, who had just escaped the rain of swords, was about to face Nero's final blow.

"She will cleanse me with hyssop, wash me with pure water. She will make me clean as a babe, white as falling snow."

After the hymn ended with the sixth sentence, the five shadows left by Nero instantly solidified, each turning into a sword light that surrounded Dante.

Dante couldn't dodge and could only continue to accelerate upwards. Five swift rays of light followed, transforming into five sharp swords that stabbed at Dante, intertwining to form shackles that bound his hands and feet.

At this moment, Nero, a final streak of light—falling like a meteor once more—appeared before Dante, Yama Blade held high. Dante poured magic power into his gauntlet, a burst of flames shaking the shackles loose, but in the end, he was just a little too late.

Nero pierced Dante's chest with the Yama Blade. The huge kinetic energy carried the two of them to the ground, creating a large hole.

The smoke gradually dissipated. Dante, having undone his demon transformation, looked at the girl on top of him. Her golden hair shone with moonlight, her lake-blue eyes filled with innocence. He shrugged and gave a "there's nothing I can do" smile.

"I was careless." Dante sighed, eyes half closed, as Nero loosened his grip on the hilt, stood up, and dusted off his skirt. Then, with his backhand, he grasped the Yama Blade that had pierced his chest and slowly pulled it out. In a voice so vibrant it couldn't be heard from the person whose chest had been pierced, he grumbled, "This feeling... it's been so long since I've felt this way."

After a dashing turn, he threw the drawn knife to Nero, swung his windbreaker, put his hands on his hips, looked at his niece with a half-smile, and said, "But you are really rude."

"You said not to hold back." Nero tilted his head with a faint smile, "And I don't think this is a big deal for you."

Hearing her say this, Dante spread his hands and caught the boomerang: "Okay, I did say that."

Of course he wouldn't be angry. Although it had been a long time since he had been pierced in the chest by the Yama Sword, it was indeed a common occurrence to some extent.

Moreover, this did bring back many memories for Dante.
