Chapter 67 Morty
In this chat group of all heavens, the "social platform" is the chat group itself; the "netizens" are the group members; and the "network signal" that allows the chat group to lock and connect them is the so-called "weight of fate", which is metaphysically called luck.

They couldn't touch the "platform" of the Zhutian Chat Group, including Rick. But they could be affected by the "thing" that connected them to the platform, namely the "signal" of luck.

Rick's method of pulling Morty into the chat group was very simple. He developed a device to capture luck signals, materialized it into a "network cable", and then connected Morty's "network cable" to his "account". In this way, he and his grandson Morty could share an account to log in to the chat group.

The essence of this operation is similar to Su Yun intercepting the chat group signal of the derivative world of Under One Person he is in. However, Su Yun's ability is passive, while Rick's operation is through technology.

The person who was most shocked to see Rick artificially influencing the chat group was Cheng Yiyi.

She is different from the group members in other worlds who have their own stories, and Su Yun, the time traveler who has his own plug-in. This chat group is her golden finger. If Rick messes it up, she will be finished.

Rick couldn't affect the chat group itself, but rather indirectly altered it by influencing its signals. Besides Lamotti joining the group through his own account, he could also block the group's signals, much like how Samsara Paradise disconnected Altria.

However, Rick couldn't just let anyone connect to his account through the Qi signal. With Qi as the signal, the strength of the signal varied from person to person.

Only when this "signal" is strong enough can Rick allow the other party to connect to the account. In other words, the weight of fate needs to meet a certain standard.

At least the luck of a major supporting character in a work. Rick judged that his family, including Jerry Smith, could meet the standard. After all, this thing is not about personality or strength. It is about the proportion of the character's screen time in the work.

Gao Yushan was able to see through the dimensional wall simply by watching TV programs on the interdimensional cable box. As the inventor of the interdimensional cable box, how could Rick Sanchez not see that he was also a character in the work?

Even if there were no higher-level creators, he could invent an interdimensional cable box to see the Rick and Morty family in other parallel worlds, and Rick in other worlds could naturally do the same. As a nihilist, Rick didn't care about these things at all.

Rick can exploit the rules through technology, but he cannot escape the influence of the rules.

He can influence spacetime through his inventions, but the changes that occur after influencing spacetime are inevitable, such as Schrödinger's spacetime splitting. In this case, another method must be used to restore it.

The Rick Universe, the Ghost World, and the Gu World all have one thing in common: using rules to control rules.

Rick Sanchez, who works on the technological side, cannot violate the constraints of the law of causality, which means that even if he can travel through time, he cannot save his wife and daughter.

The death of his wife and daughter sparked his mad scientist talent, leading him to invent the teleportation gun. If he could use the teleportation gun to go back in time and rescue his wife and daughter, but his talent wasn't activated when his wife and daughter were still alive, then the teleportation gun would be an illusion.

The law of causality is the famous grandfather paradox. If you go back in time and kill your grandparents before your father is born, this action will produce a contradictory situation.

You went back in time and killed your young grandfather. Without your grandfather, there would be no father, and without your father, there would be no you. So who killed your grandfather?

Is there a solution to this problem? Isn't it about indecision, quantum mechanics; inexplicable explanations, time travel; insufficient imagination, parallel universes; style jumps, virtual worlds; incomprehensible color matching, cyberpunk; old-fashioned graphics, the pursuit of retro; unclear, a tribute to Cthulhu?

Back to the point, the physics solution involves the concept of parallel universes. This is essentially the world-line theory of quantum physics. This states that for every seemingly random event, as long as its probability is not zero, all possible scenarios will occur in different parallel worlds, causing historical divergence.

Physicist David Deutsch believes that when you go back in time to kill your grandparents, you actually enter another world and kill people from another world.

The difference between that world and your world is that your grandparents are dead, so there is no "you" in the subsequent development line.

This world line theory is one of the basic laws of the Rick Universe, which makes the Rick Universe truly have infinite parallel universes.

This means that if Rick does not break the law of causality, that is, this paradox, no matter how much he travels through time to save his wife and daughter, this timeline will split into another parallel universe.

If Rick saves his wife and daughter, the result will only be the emergence of more parallel universes, rather than actually saving his original wife and daughter. In fact, many parallel universes are due to Rick's rescue behavior shortly after he invented the portal gun.

This was completely different from the Gu Realm. In the Gu Realm, the long river of time, relying on the power of the Spring and Autumn Cicada, could return to the past and change the future. Of course, this was only possible if God allowed it. Otherwise, under the constraints of the Fate Gu, it would be impossible to change the future.

In Rick Universe, going back to the past and taking actions to change the future will only create a tributary in the river of time, and the main river channel will not be changed.

The fateful Gu in the Gu world is similar to the causal paradox in Rick's world. Rick has become what he is now because he tried countless times but failed to break his "fateful Gu".

At the same time, this Rickest Rick even built a "wall" along the finite central curve. As for what constitutes a finite central curve, it is based on a Rickest Rick and the universe in which he exists as the standard. Ricks that are not significantly different from this Rick are called Ricks within the central finite curve.

Universes with vastly different characteristics are called universes outside the central finite curve. For example, there are universes where Rick was never born, and there are universes where Rick has no technology.

Simply put, the criterion for dividing the inside and outside of the central finite curve is whether Rick is the smartest person in his universe.

He will be the smartest person in his own universe. Rick's universe is locked in the central finite curve, and separated from the real infinite parallel universe.

Rick's purpose in building this "wall" on the finite central curve is not single.

For example, in order to find Jacket Rick who killed his wife and daughter and prevent him from running into the infinite universe; or to limit the parallel universe lines to a certain number; or it may not be his own will at all.

Without restrictions, if more Ricks continue to use the portal gun, parallel universes will continue to be created. With this "wall", if a Rick in one world is killed by another Rick, the universe without Rick will be isolated outside the "wall".

Rick's catchphrase expresses his pain, not only because of the death of his wife and daughter, but also because of the realization that he is a character in the story and has no free will of his own.

According to the screenwriter's intention, a "wall" with a finite central curve was set up, and within that wall lies the story of "Rick and Morty." Within that wall, Rick and Morty need to take risks, create storylines...which is also a source of pain.

There is another similar work that can express part of Rick's situation, The Truman Show.

Although both knew that they were characters in the work, Gao Yushan and Rick had completely different reactions.

Because Rick is so smart, and smart people tend to think deeply and explore philosophy. But Gao Yushan is just a little girl, she doesn't think too much, she just wants to live a better life.

Morty in the chat group didn't understand his grandfather's complicated thoughts.

Grandpa is always Grandpa (Rick/Morty): "A chat group made up of people from different worlds, this is so cool!"

Grandpa is always Grandpa (Rick/Morty): "Hi everyone, I'm Morty."

Watching the show quietly (group owner Cheng Yiyi): "Welcome, welcome!"

Depressed Elementary School Student (Graybara Ai): "Welcome."

Soul Tanker (Administrator Su Yun): "Hohoho~ Welcome to join us, God of War Morty."

Grandpa is always Grandpa (Rick/Morty): "God of War? Me? Hahaha, that's quite an honor."

Tequila Girl (Er Qiao): "God of War, so powerful. Is there any plot that can be posted?"

Cheng Yiyi from the Warrior World even laughed out loud. The God of War was indeed a God of War, but he was a God of War with only his lower body. Cheng Yiyi hadn't originally announced the plot of "Rick and Morty." She knew Rick's personality and didn't care about it at all.

Morty from Rick's universe also understood what Er Qiao meant by releasing the plot.

Grandpa is always Grandpa (Rick/Morty): "That's not necessary. I prefer the adventure of the unknown and don't want to know the future."

Quietly watching the show (group leader Cheng Yiyi): "...side-eyed smile jpg."

In the early days, Morty was very resistant to Rick's adventures. How could he like unknown adventures as he said?

There was only one truth: Morty didn't want his adventures to be broadcast to the group. This was because his first adventure had the famous scene of a fruit being stuffed in his anus.
