Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!

Chapter 621 Side Story : The Rise and Fall of the Dementor Empire

In the year 03 of the Imperial Calendar, the war between the rebels and the Imperial army was nearing its end.

Late at night, the full moon hangs high atop the North Tower of Hogwarts.

(Two people dressed in black robes are facing off.)
Cohen (giving his former father a deep look): You've come.

Edward (nodding): Yes.

Cohen: You shouldn't have come.

(Cohen pulls out his wand and points it at Edward's heart.)

Edward (with a calm expression and empty hands): But I still came.

Cohen: ...

Edward (staring at Cohen with genuine emotion): I know my kind son is still inside you—

"Pfft—" Finally, Edward couldn't hold back and burst out laughing while staring at Cohen.

"CUT!"

Inside the studio, Arnold raised the red card and shouted.

"Hiss! (Croak!)" The little snake monster that had been lurking off-camera suddenly sprang out, opening its mouth to scare the two people who were completely unfazed by it.

A green screen appeared behind Cohen and Edward, and the magically constructed full moon and castle vanished instantly.

"Makeup artist, touch up my makeup!"

"Lighting technician—next time, move the moon a little closer to the center. Your moon is practically disappearing into the Forbidden Forest!"

Arnold started issuing commands, just like a real director.

“Okay…” Lupin, who had been dragged over by Cohen to work part-time as a lighting technician, waved his wand wearily.

“Edward, you need to know this is your son! Your son is now a dark wizard just like Voldemort and Helbo—” Arnold pointed and said, “You must find a way to bring back his lost conscience…”

"I can't hold it in!" Edward covered his face, as if he still couldn't hold it in. "Look at what Cohen is doing."

“Cohen—” Arnold turned to look at Cohen. “What? I was trying my best to act,” Cohen said innocently.

“Tell me yourself what you’re gesturing with the hand behind the camera,” Edward accused. “You’re making a heart shape—”

“This is half a heart,” Cohen gestured. “I think we could touch them together like this at the end of the film; that would be more appealing to British audiences—”

"..."

Edward rubbed his forehead and said,

“I’m your father, this is all too strange, and you should know that this thing will definitely be shown to the little wizard in the future.”

“Okay…” Cohen abandoned his new idea, saying disappointedly, “I’m not going to resort to underhanded tactics anymore—”

Soon, after a short intermission, Cohen and Edward successfully completed the scene of "the confrontation between Cohen, the leader of the Dementor Empire, and Edward, the leader of the resistance."

Of course, Cohen still didn't awaken any conscience at the end of the film, but since Cohen only knocked Edward unconscious and didn't kill him, Edward still felt that Cohen actually had a place for family in his heart—at least that's how the plot arranged by "screenwriter Cohen" was.

"Do we really need to go on like this for over twenty episodes?" Edward asked during lunch. "I mean, who would enjoy watching this..."

“Don’t rush. As you continue your investigation of Cohen Norton, you’ll discover that he hasn’t been completely devoid of humanity. Instead, an evil wizard named Helbo is secretly influencing him.” Cohen held up a finger. “Then, as the leader of the resistance, you’ll have to make some crucial sacrifices to help Cohen overcome this influence—like Cohen’s favorite little basilisk—”

"Hiss! (Croak!)" The little snake monster, carrying a sheep in its mouth, darted quickly to their side. "Hiss hiss hiss— (I'm going to die!)"

“Yes,” Cohen said. “Next up are his other family members, like Sissoko and the Chimera, and the Nightmare—and of course, Edward Norton.”

“I have to die too?!” Edward exclaimed, his eyes wide.

“Yes,” Cohen said.

“Am I not the leader of the resistance?” Edward questioned. “I can’t die—if I die, who will fight the final battle? I’ve prepared a whole bunch of large-scale spells, and I even went to Dumbledore to learn them…”

"People nowadays like to watch these kinds of heart-wrenching endings. Maybe this way we can get the film into the Muggle market and sell it. This is called taking multiple approaches."

Cohen pointed and gestured.
"That kind of evil villain who, after losing what's most important, collapses in anguish before the corpse, weeping bitterly, then desperately screams in an attempt to salvage the situation when all hope seems lost..."

"Hiss! (When can we watch it!)" the little basilisk urged. "Hiss! (I want to watch it with Harry!)" (End of Chapter)
