Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!
Chapter 222 Hehe, I Want to Survive
Chapter 222 Hehe, I Want to Survive
Is the transformation of a werewolf really so physically demanding? But Fenrir Greyback, one of Voldemort's men, was very strong - perhaps because Greyback went around biting people every full moon, he ate better than Lupin.
"He's back," Cohen said, pulling back.
"Great!" said Harry happily.
"The nightmare is over—God knows how long I've been worried about this." Ron breathed a sigh of relief. "Two rolls of parchment. I can't even imagine what horrible things Snape will do if he catches me not doing my homework..."
After all the students were seated, Lupin was about to start the class, but a voice accusing Snape suddenly broke out from the audience.
"He gave us a ton of homework!"
"We don't even know what a werewolf is—"
"—two rolls of parchment!"
"Have you told Professor Snape that we haven't taught that yet?" Lupin frowned slightly.
"Yes!" Dean said angrily, "but he mocked our backward learning ability—"
"He won't listen—"
"—two rolls of parchment!" Ron insisted, complaining loudly about the amount of homework, hoping that Lupin would cancel it.
Finally, Lupin told them they didn't have to do the assignment - Hermione looked disappointed, as she had already done it.
"I knew Snape wouldn't get his way," Ron boasted with great foresight, "so I didn't write it at all."
"You seem quite proud of not studying," Hermione criticized harshly.
"When I become the headmaster of Hogwarts, I will cancel this damn thing called homework." Cohen said, lying on the table.
Because the Hinkpunk in the glass box that Lupin brought would shrink back into the water plants in fear as soon as it saw Cohen, Cohen had to hide from its sight so that Lupin could show the students what this creature looked like.
After class, Harry was kept by Lupin. When Cohen and the others saw Harry again in the hall, Harry's face was full of smiles.
"I have a way to deal with those Dementors." Harry said happily, "Professor Lupin agreed to teach me a spell to resist Dementors."
"I looked it up in some books," Hermione said. "The best way to deal with Dementors is the Patronus Charm—Cohen mentioned it last time. It's the same spell Dumbledore used at the game..."
"The effect must be amazing," Ron said. "All that cold feeling has disappeared. Can we learn it together?"
"But the book says this spell is difficult," Hermione said worriedly. "It seems like it's not something a third grader can learn..."
"But this is the only way, isn't it?" Harry said with determination. "I'll learn it - otherwise I won't be able to win the next game - and there's no telling if those Dementors will come back..."
"I mean don't get too frustrated." Hermione said concernedly, "You might need to learn for a while -"
"You can learn it too." Ron asked curiously, "I'll feel more at ease once you learn it..."
"You don't want to suffer at all in this life," Cohen complained.
"I'd better... forget it." Hermione shook her head, a rare occurrence. "I have too many classes - I have Arithmancy homework to do later. I'll probably wait until fourth or fifth year."
"Once I learn this spell, I'll be able to keep all those damn Dementors away," said Harry hopefully. "That'll be great," said Ron.
"Oh, that's great," Cohen said dryly.
-
I couldn't imagine how Harry and the others would react when they found out there was a Dementor next to him all the time—especially since Harry had been severely affected by Dementors twice before.
Cohen had been thinking about how to make the reveal of his little vest appear more natural - the matter of the Dementors could not be kept secret from them forever. The longer they waited, the older they would get, and the older they got, the deeper their prejudices and stubbornness would become, and the more dangerous the Dementors' identities would become.
Considering that the protagonist of this world can really "shout friendship and bonds" to fight bosses of different levels, Cohen does not want to become another "Voldemort".
Before Christmas they had their last Hogsmeade weekend of the term, and this time Harry was able to use the secret passage - though they didn't tell Hermione about it, because if Hermione knew she would definitely stop Harry.
Harry felt that the best option was to act first and ask for permission later.
When Cohen and the others met Harry outside Honeydukes, Hermione's reaction was obviously more excited than Harry's.
Harry and Ron always insisted that "Sirius Black would not know this secret passage", but Hermione was not reassured about this.
Until Ron caught a notice from the Ministry of Magic stating that Dementors would patrol Hogsmeade every day after sunset.
"Look, Hermione, the Dementors are on patrol at night!" said Ron. "Sirius Black will be caught if he shows his head."
"But..." Hermione wanted to say something, but didn't continue.
At the mention of Dementors, Hermione stole a glance in Coin's direction.
This suddenly made Cohen feel as if he had been discovered - Hermione had always been very smart. It only took her one homework assignment to realize that Lupin was a werewolf based on Lupin's illness cycle.
But Coin couldn't remember when he was exposed - during the game? When the Dementors fed Neville towards Coin?
Or is it about Dumbledore's Patronus?
However, Hermione has not discussed this matter with Cohen in private until now. It is not known whether she simply wants to keep it a secret from Cohen or because she is afraid that Cohen will suddenly attack and suck away her soul.
"The Post Office!" Ron pointed to Harry. "Zonko's Joke Shop is up ahead—and then just outside is the Shrieking Shack..."
"There's also the Scholar's Quill Shop—" Hermione introduced, "Over there—the quills there are all very finely made—"
"It's freezing here..." shuddered Harry, for he had forgotten his robes because he was wearing the Invisibility Cloak. "Is there any place warm?"
"The Hog's Head?" Hermione asked. "There won't be many people there, so Harry might be safer."
"The Three Broomsticks," said Cohen. "The Hog's Head isn't the right place. The owner doesn't seem to like me. He glares at me every time I come in. And the fewer people there are, the easier it is for Harry to be seen."
In the end, they chose the Three Broomsticks because the environment of the Hog's Head Bar was really too bad, and it always gave people the feeling that they would die on the spot if they drank the drinks there.
They chose a corner seat, shaded by a Christmas tree, where Harry could drop his Invisibility Cloak and enjoy the fire and his drink.
Ron suggested Butterbeer, but Cohen insisted on ordering another for himself.
"I have some bad memories of this thing," Cohen said. "The unicorns in my box were ruined by Butterbeer. Now they lie drunk on the grass every day. It's only a matter of time before Norbert, who has just woken up, eats them like sheep."
But Harry and the others quite like the taste of butterbeer - Cohen thinks it's too greasy. He doesn't even spread butter on his bread. It feels worse than... jam and cheese.
