Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!

Chapter 14: Is there really a little wizard who doesn’t dare to go to the Forbidden Forest?
Asking further about the soul seemed too suspicious. Before Cohen thanked her and prepared to leave with Hermione, Professor McGonagall gave each of them a bird transformed from a teacup.

"Their magic will last until lunch, Mr. Norton, Miss Granger," Professor McGonagall reminded. "Perhaps observing them gradually returning to their original form over time will help you better understand the principles of Transfiguration."

Cohen didn't know if Hermione would spend the whole morning studying the teacup bird, but he certainly didn't need to observe his own bird all morning.

Hermione had to go to the library, so she and Coin parted ways on the second floor.

Coln walked up the stairs - but his destination was not the Gryffindor Common Room on the eighth floor, but a corridor on the eighth floor that few people passed by.

There is a huge tapestry here, which depicts the scene of trolls beating a foolish wizard with wooden sticks - in the East, there is Gong Mingyi playing the lute to a cow, and here is Barnabas trying to teach the trolls to dance.

Across from the tapestry was the empty castle wall, but that would soon be no more.

Cohen walked back and forth in front of the wall three times, thinking over and over again:

"I need a room where I can be isolated and monitored."

"I need a room where I can be isolated and monitored."

"I need a place to isolate—"

I feel like I don’t need to repeat myself so many times…

Before Cohen could think about it for a third time, the door to the Room of Requirement appeared.

After looking around and making sure that no living creature was passing by, Cohen pushed the door open and walked in.

It turned into a small room with obvious carvings on the walls, which looked even half the size of Cohen and his roommates' dormitory.

The complicated runes looked like some kind of magic words carved on the wall. Without any flashing special effects, they still gave people a solemn and serious atmosphere.

Cohen didn't understand, but was shocked.

In the center of the room was a round table with a lion's paw base, flanked by several red-cushioned armchairs. A warm fireplace crackled, and the whole room felt... "safe."

Somehow, there was a single bed in the corner—if it weren't for the fact that staying out all night would result in severe confinement, Cohen might have actually chosen to stay here...

Throwing his schoolbag aside, Cohen pulled up an armchair and sat down at the table, placing the teacup bird given by Professor McGonagall on the table.

The bird was much quieter than the Count and hadn't chirped at all during the entire trip in Cohen's pocket.

[Soul Strength: 3]

The creatures that Professor McGonagall casually transformed all had three points of soul strength, and Cohen could use this to test whether the souls made of magic could be used as effective snacks for himself.

If it were possible... I could free up the sin points that I would have spent on soul fragments to buy some other "black shop" items.

"Suck~"

His soul was so small that Cohen felt like he had swallowed a noodle half the length of a finger.

The teacup bird successfully transformed back into an ordinary teacup ahead of time, without any trace of magic.

After taking a bite of Nick who was almost headless, Cohen saw the integrity of his soul flicker for a moment, but there was no change.

And now after eating this magical soul, Cohen's soul integrity has changed!
Although it's only 0.1%, this is just a teacup bird that Professor McGonagall casually created using Transfiguration!
Is magic also considered the soul? Or...does a wizard's magic actually have something in common with the soul?

Or maybe... Cohen is not actually a "soul monster", but a simple "magic monster"?
No matter what, this is good news. Cohen now has a good idea - transform those small objects himself, then absorb their souls, transform them again, and absorb them again -

Exchanging magic power for soul completeness is just like using time to level up in a game.

But Cohen was obviously a little too optimistic about his own transformation.

He tried to replicate Professor McGonagall's teacup bird according to the spells and casting gestures in his own copy of The Compendium of Positive Magic - there was no doubt that Cohen could make a bird that looked exactly like the previous one.

But even though it could jump around and make crisp sounds, Cohen couldn't see any soul in it.

"Even if the soul only exists for a second or two..." Cohen withdrew the magic in disappointment.

He encounters Professor McGonagall, a master of transfiguration, who easily transforms into a monster with a soul as strong as a monster, and he cannot defeat it no matter how hard he tries.

Do I have to ask Professor McGonagall for a bunch of small animals?
Considering that Nick's soul fragments plus a teacup bird can increase the soul's integrity by 0.1%, Mag only needs to give Cohen eight or nine hundred small animals - if the number of souls required for subsequent soul integrity improvements does not gradually increase.

Thinking about it, Cohen returned to Professor McGonagall's office again and asked:

"Professor, can you give me some more transformed animals?"

"Oh? Some? How many do you want?"

"Not many, maybe eight or nine hundred first—"

"Eight or nine hundred? Are you eating them like food?!"

There was no need to think about it, he would definitely be kicked out of Professor McGonagall's office.

But asking for it frequently wouldn't be a good idea, as it would make Cohen look like some kind of animal addict...

When God opens a window for a person, he will always lock the window and door together when that person wants to breathe fresh air.

But Cohen doesn't care.jpg
Cohen didn't intend to go back to waste his life indulging in games with Harry and Ron. Since the method of using Transfiguration to gain souls was temporarily unavailable, he decided to go to a place with a wide variety of magical creatures and where Cohen could use "self-defense" as an excuse to absorb the souls of dangerous magical creatures.

"Cohen, where are you going?" Cohen met Harry who had just come out when passing by the Gryffindor common room.

"Let's go to the Forbidden Forest. Want to come with us?"

Harry, the troublemaker, the evil force attractor, Potter came to him on his own. Cohen felt that it would be okay to bring Harry along. Maybe he could use Harry to attract some better quality animals in the Forbidden Forest.

"Oh, to the Forbidden Forest..." Harry didn't realize the meaning of the word at first -

"What! Ban——"

"Shh!" Cohen covered Harry's mouth, which had suddenly risen in volume, because a student had just turned from the end of the corridor.

"But didn't the headmaster say we can't go there—" Harry, who had just arrived at Hogwarts, still had a shred of respect for the school rules. "I've already broken the rules right after I started..."

"Staying in the castle all day like it's work is bound to turn into a chore," Cohen said, spreading his hands. "Then I'll go alone. There will be plenty of opportunities to go together later anyway."

No way, no way, is there really a little wizard from Gryffindor who doesn't dare to go to the Forbidden Forest?
Everyone knows that the student mortality rate at Hogwarts in the fifty years before Harry arrived was no more than 1%. Although students were strictly prohibited from entering the Forbidden Forest, there was actually almost nothing in the Forbidden Forest that could really threaten the young wizards - most of the kind or neutral magical creatures would help them in times of crisis, such as unicorns and centaurs.

However, Cohen felt that he might not be able to enjoy the help of creatures such as unicorns - the scene had the absurd feeling of Voldemort falling down and being kindly helped up by Dumbledore.
