Who let this Dementor into Hogwarts!

Chapter 106 The First Victim

Chapter 106 The First Victim
Cohen's soul floated back to the third floor, where Lockhart was still.

And he removed the frame during the day.

"You didn't tell me that the Frenzy Curse would make them attack me..." Lockhart complained, "This class could have won me dozens of fans!"

"It has nothing to do with the spell I taught you..." Voldemort cursed, "It's your own fault that you can't deal with elves, you piece of shit!"

"Are there any other spells? I have a class for third-year students tomorrow - I have to show them some real skills - otherwise my reputation will be ruined!" Lockhart said anxiously, ignoring the fact that Voldemort called him a waste. "Damn it, I should have known not to come to Hogwarts to teach - I was hoping to make a name for myself, but what Dumbledore asked for... a combination of theory and practice..."

"I can teach you..." Voldemort tempted, "but we have to speed up our plan... don't let Coin find out..."

"Tomorrow?" Lockhart suggested hastily. "Help me get through that class, and tomorrow I'll help you start your plan—wait, that basilisk you mentioned won't hurt me, will it?"

"Fool." Voldemort was becoming increasingly frustrated with Lockhart's stupidity. "If you die, I'll have to find another collaborator... It's not worth it..."

Lockhart agreed repeatedly and hung the portrait back with a sense of surreptitiousness.

Coin lingered a little longer—but Lockhart still wouldn't reveal who their first target would be.

But one thing was confirmed, that the basilisk was indeed coming to find him today, not at Voldemort's request.

But Cohen felt nothing about it—it was completely different from the feeling he had when he first met Yali.

Cohen was certain he had no blood relationship with the serpent monster, but it was definitely actively looking for someone...

Strange, things are getting weirder and weirder.

Putting the tangled things aside, Lockhart and his team will take action tomorrow, and Cohen must prepare a plan to sabotage them.

The last time I overheard, I heard that Voldemort wanted to write Cohen's name on the wall in order to frame Cohen and make him the "heir of Slytherin" and suffer from exclusion.

Cohen couldn't imagine that he would be treated the same way as Harry Potter.

Voldemort's thoughts were too easy to guess - Cohen was certain that he wanted Cohen to completely break with the decent people. There was nothing that could not be distorted by misunderstandings and false accusations. If there was, it was because the misunderstandings and false accusations were not done well enough.

Bad stuff!
Since Voldemort had planned to replace the golden arowana in Cohen's fish tank, don't blame Cohen for pouring boiling water on Voldemort's money tree...

After his soul returned to his body, Cohen had dinner calmly and returned to the Room of Requirement calmly to discuss something with the Count.

"What?" the Count asked, his eyes wide open, after Cohen made an unreasonable request. "What the hell did you say?"

"Is it difficult?" Cohen raised his eyebrows and looked at the earl with a look that said, "Are you unable to do it?"

"Why are you suddenly—no—I mean…" The Count scratched his head a little—if his claws could reach his head, "Why do you always come up with something new and unexpected for me? Not only do you squeeze me to help you with your homework—but now you even want to take my midnight snack?!"

"I want live voles," Cohen warned. "Not dead ones."

"Alive..." The Count tried to understand Cohen's intention of wanting a vole. "You are not... eh~"

"..."

Coin silently drew his wand.

"How many do you want?" the Count replied. "I'm a real expert at catching field mice—you know I always catch one, and I promise to clean their mouths for you."

"If you say one more word of this shit, I'll stuff your mouth up your ass," Cohen said viciously. "Get to work!"

The Count flew away cursing.

Cohen's purpose in collecting live voles was to use them to become invisible—sucking the soul of a mouse would render him invisible for twenty minutes, allowing him to follow Lockhart and cause trouble. Lockhart would surely have chosen a time when Cohen wasn't in class to frame him, otherwise Cohen's alibi would have foiled the plan.

And what would Cohen do when he wasn't in class... Of course, he would follow Lockhart and make trouble!

Compared to first grade, second graders had fewer Thursday classes—so Cohen had time to track Lockhart's movements.

But Lockhart waited until after dinner to act – he sent an anonymous letter to Cohen.

"Such a familiar trick."

Cohen clicked his tongue and said that using a letter to lure people away was Cohen's suggestion to Voldemort last semester - the only difference was that the target back then was Dumbledore, and this time the target was Cohen himself.

"Who gave you the letter?" Harry asked curiously when he saw Cohen received a letter before dinner and stared at it for a long time.

"Professor Lockhart." Cohen secretly signed the letter with his wand under his robes. Thanks to Hermione asking Lockhart for an autograph book, Cohen was able to imitate Lockhart's handwriting perfectly. "He asked me to go to the third floor corridor before the end of dinner. He said there was a secret operation going on."

"Clandestine?" Harry asked suspiciously. "Are you familiar with him?"

"Unfamiliar."

Cohen shook his head and handed the letter to Harry.

"But I plan to go check it out ahead of time to see what tricks he has up his sleeve."

Lockhart left the hall before the dinner ended.

The naive Lockhart thought Cohen didn't know who the letter came from.

The letter even vaguely hinted that this was Voldemort's plan - if nothing unexpected happened, even if Cohen handed over the letter as evidence to prove his innocence, Dumbledore would think that Cohen was still connected to Voldemort.

Unfortunately, Lockhart still overestimated Cohen's morality. Even if he really didn't know that it was Lockhart's doing, Cohen would still add Lockhart's name to the signature of the letter.

Drag them all into the water!!!
Cohen sucked the soul of a pocket mouse the moment he left the auditorium, the Deathstalker cloak working to great effect—now Cohen was completely invisible.

Coin soon found Lockhart outside the bathroom on the third floor. Voldemort taught him a spell to drive away ghosts - Myrtle could not interfere with his actions.

Lockhart went into the bathroom—and a moment later, he came out with the basilisk in the wall.

Lockhart left the bathroom—with the Basilisk following closely within the wall.

Kill... Kill...

Cohen followed closely behind Lockhart.

Their target is... a creature that has discovered Lockhart.

This gave Lockhart a sigh of relief - because he didn't dare to actually attack a student.

"Hiss - no, it seems like that? Hiss - hiss... (Kill it!)" Lockhart recalled the second snake language taught by Voldemort.

Looking at the only living thing in the corridor besides Lockhart and Cohen, Cohen twitched his lips.

Well, the first victim is Mrs. Norris again.
