Harry doesn't want to be a wizard, he wants to be a superhero
Chapter 11 Mysterious Man
Chapter 11 Mysterious Man
The two came to the end of Diagon Alley, where a white building stood that didn't fit in with the surroundings.
The building is made entirely of white marble, and its appearance is simple, elegant and neat.
Hagrid pointed at the building and explained to Harry:
"Come on, Harry, your money is there. Gringotts is the bank of the wizarding world. There's no place safer than there, except Hogwarts, of course!"
Following the white stone steps into the bronze gate in front of Gringotts, another gate appeared in front of Harry and the others.
The entire gate is a shiny silver, with the following words engraved on it:
"Come in, stranger, but be careful
What will be the consequences of being greedy?
Asking blindly and getting something for nothing,
will be punished the most severely,
So if you want to take it from our underground vault
A wealth that never belonged to you,
Thief, you have been warned,
Be careful not to attract treasure, but evil retribution. "
"Like I said, anyone who wants to rob this bank must be crazy. There are hundreds of spells cast in it. Even Dumbledore would have to be careful." said Hagrid.
Behind the door, two goblins in scarlet gowns bowed to the two and led them into a tall marble hall.
At this moment, Hagrid suddenly noticed that Harry was very calm after seeing this scene, as if he was used to it. This made him curious:
"Harry, aren't you curious? You haven't seen a goblin before?"
Harry was still observing his surroundings curiously. After hearing what Hagrid said, he laughed out loud:
"Well, I was indeed curious, but I didn't show it."
In fact, he was not curious about the scene in front of him at all. The Supreme Mage once took him to the 'Reality Hub' to trade with mages from other dimensions.
A reality hub is a special dimension, a crossroads, from which one can find a way to any dimension, even dimensions within dimensions.
Therefore, many mages from different dimensions trade there tacitly, and it has now become an important trading market in the multiverse.
Compared to that, Gringotts is nothing.
The two came to a counter, and Hagrid said to an idle goblin:
"We need to get some money from Harry Potter's vault."
"Do you have his key, sir?"
"Of course, here you go." Hagrid took out the key.
The fairy took the key and put on a magnifying glass to examine it carefully:
"It should be no problem."
Just as he was about to lead Harry and the others to the vault, Hagrid solemnly took out a letter:
"I also have a letter here from Professor Dumbledore. He told me it's related to 'that thing' in Vault 713."
Judging from Hagrid's serious expression, Harry judged that 'that thing' must be very important, perhaps some kind of precious treasure.
But Harry was not interested in it at all. He had come into contact with legendary treasures such as the Time Stone and did not think that "that thing" would be more precious than the Time Stone.
The fairy took the letter, checked it carefully, and nodded after confirming that it was correct.
"Very good, please wait a moment, someone will take you there soon... Griphook!"
The fairy named Griphook came to the two of them, bowed slightly and said:
"Come on, gentlemen, please follow me." Griphook led them deeper into Gringotts. When they pushed open a door, they found a narrow stone corridor inside.
The three of them rode on a cart in the center of the stone corridor, moving along a track that twisted and turned like a maze. The cold wind from underground was a bit strong, but for Harry, who could use magic to strengthen his body, it was just right.
Soon, accompanied by a harsh sound of metal friction, the cart stopped in front of a small iron gate.
Griphook said in a shrill voice:
"Vault 687, please follow me."
Griphook took the key from Hagrid. When he used the key to open the vault, the golden luster shone on Harry's face. Even he was shocked by the mountains of gold coins, silver bars and bronze coins inside.
Even though Harry didn't know the purchasing power of this money in the wizarding world, he could guess that it was definitely a huge inheritance!
Hagrid looked down at Harry and said gently:
"Haha, Harry, isn't it a surprise? You didn't think your parents left you nothing, did you?
Look, those gold coins are Galleons, the silver coins are Sickles, and the bronze coins are Knuts.
You are now richer than some fallen wizarding families!
Come and withdraw some money, which will be enough for two terms. The rest can be left here and Gringotts will keep it for you.
Let's go, it's time for us to go to the 713 vault. Please drive slower, Mr. Griphook, the wind in the corridor is too strong."
"Sorry, there's only one speed." Griphook spread his hands and gave a formal apologetic smile.
Sitting on the cart, heading towards Vault 713, Harry remained silent.
His parents left him a huge inheritance, and his friends cared about him from the bottom of their hearts. All of this was an experience he had never had in this world, at least not in the Dursleys' home.
According to Hagrid's description, his parents were both very good people, especially his mother, who was gentle and kind, beautiful and knowledgeable, and loved him very much.
If they had not been killed by the dark wizard, he might have had a wonderful childhood and lived a happy life since childhood.
But all of this was ruined by that damn dark wizard!
A faint crimson appeared in Harry's pupils, a sign of restless magic:
"Hagrid, who killed my parents?"
Hagrid shuddered at Harry's question, his beard quivering, as if he were terrified of the name.
"It was the mysterious man who killed them..."
"You-Know-Who?" Harry was a little confused. This didn't sound like a name.
Hagrid shook his head and warned solemnly:
"Harry, it's said in the wizarding world that that person's name is cursed. He will sense it when his name is mentioned, so no one wants to say their name, so everyone uses the You-Know-Who instead.
Even if you know the person's name, don't talk about it unless it's absolutely necessary."
Harry thought for a moment, a curse name spell? It seemed the Book of Vishanti contained many spells to break it.
Feeling that Hagrid was indeed afraid of the You-Know-Who, Harry stopped asking about him.
Since everyone in the wizarding world knew about You-Know-Who, there must be a lot of records about him, and he could just do his own research.
Harry clenched his fists. He was determined to kill the mysterious man, even if his strength surpassed that of the Sorcerer Supreme!
After a pause, and calming down the complicated emotions in his heart, Harry asked again:
"Hagrid, what kind of people are my parents?"
