Warhammer: Black Emperor

Chapter 78 Reaper

Chapter 78 Reaper

Nimrod walked out of the luxurious suite and looked at the two reapers wearing red armor with sickles branded on their breastplates.

They all had neat short hair and deep black eyes. Two of the reapers wore bright red helmets on their left arms, revealing the lustrous yellow skin on their necks.

They looked like smaller versions of themselves.

None of them are equipped with boltguns, instead using chainswords and bolt pistols.

[The looters.]
As Nimrod looked at the two, the genetic offspring also looked at their father.

The moment they saw the face of the Father of Genes, it was as if they saw a god descended to the earth, and their brains went blank for a brief moment.

They subconsciously loosened the weapons that were always tightly grasped in their right hands, and their desire to kill temporarily calmed down.

Unlike when they met Horus, where they could only sense the Primarch's power, they felt much more from their father.

They didn't know how to describe this feeling. After they came to their senses, they subconsciously grasped the weapons at their waists.

After finding strength from it, the two reapers walked towards Nimrod.

Climbing up the viewing gallery and reporting to the Emperor, Horus turned his head, vaguely expecting something to happen.

A moment later, he saw the two men lower their heads and kneel on one knee at the feet of their genetic father.

"Father, I am Sesak, the Harvest Master of the First Company."

"Father, I am Sanchez, the Harvest Master of the Seventh Company."

"They pledged their loyalty to their Gene-Father without a second thought," Horus said. "I expected more resistance, they are so proud."

"When I handed them over to you, your descendants were no different."

The Emperor said, his golden eyes watching the encounter unfold below.

"Come in with me."

Nimrod said to his two sons who stood up, and then took them into the restaurant.

Howard and the others put down their glasses, which they had only taken a few sips of, and stood up from the table.

They looked at the two Terrans, and the Reaper looked at the Vostroyan.

After a moment of looking and evaluating each other, a hint of disdain flashed in Sesak's eyes, and he said to Nimrod.

"Father, your children are waiting for you. They hope you will go to the Sawtooth and meet them."

Ninglu looked up and Old Man Huang said with a smile.

"They have waited too long. You should meet with them immediately."

"I will summon you again when your ship arrives."

"As you command, my lord."

Nimrod finished speaking and left with two reapers and a group of his men.

In the transport ship, Nimrod looked at his two heirs opposite him and spoke.

"Tell me about the current situation of the 11th Legion."

Sesak was prepared and he spoke immediately.

"The Legion currently has a total of 11433 Reapers, all gathered in the 33rd Expeditionary Fleet."

Ningluo nodded slightly, satisfied with the number.

Generally speaking, there are two nodes in the change of legionary numbers in the "Great Expedition" era.

One node is the Emperor's conquest of the moon.

The moon has been a center for human genetic research since the "Dark Age of Technology".

After the battle that gave the Luna Wolves their name, the Emperor seized the research facilities of the Selene Gene-Order, allowing the mass production of Space Marines.

Most legions grew from a few hundred people to tens of thousands.

Of course, there was also the revenge of the Selina Gene Cult, which poisoned the gene-seed of the Emperor's Children, nearly wiping out the Third Legion. Another key point was the encounter between the Legion and its Primarch.

On the one hand, Apothecaries can extract genetic material from Primarchs.

It was because of the reunion with Fulgrim that the "Emperor's Children" were able to obtain pure gene seeds and avoid destruction.

On the other hand, the world where the Primarch fell would become the home world of the Legion and a place for recruiting new soldiers.

With both a source of new recruits and a sufficient amount of gene-seed, most legions would steadily grow in numbers, reaching hundreds of thousands, or even over 200,000 men.

The current 11th Legion, at least, is not one of those legions with a small number of people.

While Nimrod was thinking, Sesak continued.

"We began as the Emperor's blades, dealing devastating blows to our enemies. Back then, we adhered strictly to the Military Code, which laid out the foundations of the Space Marine organization."

"Later, when Horus returned to the Imperium, we were placed under the command of the Primarch of the Sixteenth Legion. He still strictly implemented the organizational structure of the Military Tribunal, so the organizational structure of the Legion did not change significantly."

"The biggest change is that, influenced by the Luna Wolves, we have further developed the use of tactical squads, with raider squads accounting for more than half of the total."

Upon hearing this, Nimrod understood why Horus knew so much about the Reapers. His core tactical thinking, that is, the application of the Marauder Squad, had infiltrated the 11th Legion. He also understood why the two men used bolt pistols and chainswords as weapons.

Sanchez, who had been silent the whole time, didn't know whether Nimrod, who had just returned to the empire, had read the Military Code, so he spoke to the Father of Genes.

"The Luna Wolves' organizational structure has two levels: companies and squads."

"The Luna Wolves' company size ranges from dozens to hundreds of men, with each squad consisting of 10 or 20 men."

"The Reapers have a fixed organization: each company consists of 10 men, and each squad consists of men."

Saesak suddenly spoke up, "The 12th Legion currently has a total of companies. We lost hundreds of Reapers in the previous battle against the insect-like alien known as the Tagara."

Nimrod nodded slightly. He knew that the Luna Wolves, including the later Sons of Horus, had always had a two-tiered organizational structure, unlike other legions that had established a three-tiered command structure as their numbers grew.

In certain battles, he would organize companies and independent units according to execution requirements and appoint temporary commanders - senior company commanders.

Cezak turned his gaze to Sanchez, and the Lord of the Harvest understood, and he spoke.

"The Solar Auxiliary Army supporting the 11th Legion consists of the 33th, 111rd, 333th, and rd Regiments, a total of four regiments."

Cezak let Sanchez answer the mortal he didn't care about before speaking.

"The 33rd Expeditionary Fleet consists of one Emperor-class battleship, Sawtooth, four Retribution-class battleships, ten cruisers of various classes, and twenty-three frigates."

As soon as the Lord of the Harvest finished his introduction, the transport ship approached the Sawtooth, and Nimrod set his sights on the scarlet Emperor-class battleship.

He had already sensed that thousands of genetic offspring were waiting eagerly below.

A moment later, Nimrod landed in the Sawtooth's docking area.

He saw that the area around him was filled with Reapers in red armor, and everyone looked excitedly at him, the gene father.

Nimrod was surrounded by people and came to the strategic conference room on the bridge. Eleven company commanders and thirty-one lieutenants knelt on one knee and swore allegiance to the Father of Genes.

"Father, I am James, the Harvest Master of the Second Company."

"..."

The Military Code stipulates that each company has three adjutants, each leading three squads, and the same is true for the Reapers.

In the previous conquest war, the Reapers lost a company commander and five lieutenants.

Nimrod looked around at everyone and said with a smile.

"We still have a lot of time to spend together, there's no rush."

"Please prepare your briefing first. I will talk to you one by one later."

"Now, I need to make arrangements for the Vostroyans who came with me."

23:23, another chapter will be updated regularly.
