Chapter 28 Gambling Fight

Chapter 28 Gambling Fight
Howard said loudly as he walked to the charring workshop near the steel mill's feeding area.

"Each work cycle is divided into two shifts, with a working time of sixteen hours."

"Each work cycle, maintenance time is one hour, and a shift system is implemented."

He walked over to coke oven number two and continued.

"The first stage of steelmaking is coking, where coking coal is mixed, crushed and fed into a coke oven, where hot coke and crude coke oven gas are produced through a dry distillation process."

"There are 53 holes in the No. 53 coke oven, 31 holes in the No. 137 coke oven, and 5 holes in the No. 4 coke oven, for a total of holes. The coke pushing sequence standard is implemented according to -."

“The coal loading time is sixteen minutes, and the single coke pushing time is eleven minutes.”

The coke pushing sequence is the order in which coal is loaded and coke is discharged from each carbonization chamber of a group of coke ovens.

After research, the technical workers of the Finder family improved it, reducing the waiting time and significantly shortening the working hours from 26 minutes to 11 minutes. They demonstrated it at Howard's instruction.

"The coking time for each furnace is fifteen hours, and the quenching and screening time is thirty-four minutes."

"The full furnace operation time is sixteen hours. Each of the two shifts should complete one cycle, with a total output of one hundred and thirty-seven furnaces. The standard coke output for each shift in one work cycle is two thousand and thirteen tons."

The workers all looked at a foreman who had been the foreman of the charring shop at the neighboring Katowice Dome Steelworks.

The bald foreman scratched his head and nodded slightly.

Although time is tight, it is indeed possible to complete the task if a well-coordinated team gives their all.

Howard then introduced the standards for each process one by one. The workers realized that although the standards were difficult, they could indeed be accomplished, and gradually began to believe his words.

The blond noble returned to the platform and continued.

"This production cycle is the first since the Magnito Steel Plant resumed production. I'll give you some time. As long as you can complete it before the next Night Kai shift arrives, you'll receive a ration of corpse starch."

"The first team to finish will receive tuna, bread, and water."

"My meals are just this kind of food. Eighty percent of the people on the nest can't eat it."

"Those who eat it can later say they've eaten better food than the people in the Upper Nest."

The bald foreman was the first to react and slapped his head hard.

"What are you waiting for? If you try it, you'll know whether it's true or not."

"What's that fish called?"

Howard smiled and said, "Tuna."

"If you want to eat tuna, follow the old man."

"You, you, and you, you three look the strongest. You're the ones loading the coal and pushing the coke cars. Get moving immediately."

“Remember, fill it full, fill it level, fill it solidly, and fill it evenly.”

There were still four hours left before the night shift, the bald foreman shouted.

"It's done!"

He let go of the cart and walked quickly towards the platform. All the workers stopped what they were doing and looked towards the platform.

Howard signaled the captain of the guard to ask the foreman of the burnt team, whose face was charred, to come up.

"Don't worry, it's yours and it won't run away. I'll ask the chef to heat it up for you."

"No," the foreman said hastily, "it's best eaten cold."

He took the lunch box and kettle amid the envious gazes of all the workers.

"Thank you, sir. Praise you..."

He said hurriedly, holding the reward tightly, turned around and walked down.

At the same time, workers in other factories opened their eyes wide. They saw the foreman distributing food to his men. When they swallowed it, they were almost shocked. An idea came to their minds.

[It turns out that what the noble said was true.]
Howard shook his head. Since he had agreed, he would not go back on his word.

The Fender family's reputation was far more valuable than tuna or purified water. He pinched his brows and looked down. He noticed that everyone's aura was red with enthusiasm and white with positivity.

After the blond noble closed his spiritual vision, he stood on the platform and observed everyone. He found that although they were tired, they all moved vigorously and quickly as if they had been injected with stimulants.

Is this what the Lord meant by motivating the workers?
He nodded with satisfaction and said to the captain of the guard.

"You stay and distribute the corpse starch. Remember to follow the standards."

Howard then walked towards the newly expanded lounge where Nimrod had lived.

After closing the door, the blond nobleman yawned. He was not a "sleepless person" like Bukayo. He felt tired after nearly two work cycles without a rest.

Just as Howard made a breakthrough at the Hante Mansi Dome, Nimrod met Thierry Vieira in the shantytown outside the Lukopo Hive.

Thierry is about twenty-three or twenty-four years old. He is tall and well-proportioned, with smooth muscle lines and short blond hair that frames his angular face.

His eyes were deep and bright, and he looked in amazement at the giant in front of him holding a heavy halberd.

Thierry subconsciously tightened his grip on the family sword slung across his waist and asked in a deep voice.

"You are Nimrod, the new king of Tezwok."

"I will be the king of Vostronia, and you shall submit to me."

Nimrod stepped forward, and Thierry felt a heavy pressure. He heard unquestionable confidence in the giant's words, as if what he said was the truth.

"For thousands of years, kings have sought to conquer Vostronia, but no one has ever succeeded."

"How did you do that? With less than 3,000 men behind you, you can't even take down Lukopo."

"You are wrong," Nimrod said in a deep voice, "My confidence comes from my strength. I heard that you are known as the best swordsman in Vostronia. I would like to see how capable you are."

Thierry smiled confidently, "Combat isn't about size."

"If I am victorious, will you, the so-called king of Vostronia, submit to me?"

"Since you are so confident, how about the loser serving the winner forever?"

Hearing Ningluo's gambling words, Thierry thought to himself.

[I have killed dozens of Ogryns before. Nimrod is just a little taller. I will definitely defeat him.

If I can really control Tezwok, then I will have a chance of revenge. I will not be as reckless and arrogant as him and continue guerrilla harassment. I will form an army and will definitely be able to defeat Puhachi.

If he could really defeat me, he might be able to kill Puhachi, and I wouldn't mind serving him, but that's impossible.]
"My king, please allow me to fight him first."

Rawlslev stared at Thierry and spoke with a fighting spirit.

Thierry glanced at the dark and burly man, whose skin was blackened by long-term labor.

[Working class?]
Thierry frowned slightly. The giant Nimrod at least looked mighty, but this man looked like just a strong man, yet he dared to challenge him.

"He represents you?"

"No one can represent my king."

Rawlslev exclaimed, pulling out a laser pistol from his waist.

"This pistol is a fine product of the Boleslaw family. If you defeat me, it will be yours."

"It's a fine gun indeed," Thierry nodded slightly. "Let's fight it first."

He drew his power sword and pressed the control on the hilt, activating the disintegration field.

Rawlslev activated his chainsword at the same time, and the two men walked towards each other.

A cold light flashed in Thierry's eyes, and he took a step forward. The simplest "Osberkh-Vaya" first stab was like a shining fire snake, rushing towards Rawlslev's chest.

If you verify the production figures in this chapter, please note that the coke production results obtained using the parameters I set will be very similar. I've visited steel mills and learned that the current coke pushing sequences used are 9-2, 5-2, and 2-1, with no 5-4. Coking times are also much shorter than they are today. These figures represent reasonable improvements based on actual production capacity.
