Chapter 117 Duel Competition Standards
Chapter 117 Duel Competition Standards
Nimrod led his team behind Campbell, and the green wheat fields passed by quickly.
Serfs and mechanized servants were working in the fields. They felt the ground shaking and heard the rumble of the knight mechas. They turned their heads and looked over. Then they stopped what they were doing and saluted according to the local etiquette of Daxos.
They would also glance at the black-armored warriors out of the corner of their eyes. Their movements were in unison, as if they were a whole.
Blade's Dome, the fortress and residence of House Vixtrix, is built atop the towering Tarik Peak.
At the foot of the mountain, the sixteen castles surrounding the peak are the residences of the various knight families serving Vixtrix.
The steep cliffs serve as its natural barrier, with numerous interconnected fortresses and bastions hidden in the valleys.
“This is a fortress.”
Bukayo Arshavin looked at the mountain and spoke in Vostroyan, his dark eyes looking around vigilantly.
"For a unified regime, this kind of defense seems excessive."
The Primarch discovered the reason before his descendants. His eyes were deep as he spoke to remind them.
"Those marks on the stone slabs on the ground are not all left by the Knight Mecha. There are other traces as well."
Upon hearing this, all the men turned their eyes to the marble floor.
Over countless years, knight mechas, food trucks, and servitors have passed through it, leaving traces and destroying previous traces.
The pattern on the marble floor looked extremely messy, as if it had been scribbled by a naughty child.
Arsene uses his powerful consciousness to analyze, Gabriel starts from the graphics, and Bukayo relies on inspiration.
After a few seconds, they gave their answers.
"Remnants of ether energy." The silver-haired psychic sensed the presence of warp energy.
"Giant footprints of some creature." The technical sergeant restored the huge oval footprints from the chaotic traces.
"It seems there's something else." The inspiration of "Nightmare" captured some abnormalities, but it couldn't be sure.
Nimrod nodded, confirming their guess.
"You each captured and restored a portion of it."
[Extraordinary creatures like the Black Dream Cat, huge in size and capable of manipulating psychic attacks.]
While they were talking, Campbell did not climb the mountain. He strode to the foot of the mountain and stood in front of a golden gate.
Campbell raised his right hand and pressed it on a disc in the center of the gate.
He chanted in Daxos: "I, Campbell Vixtrix, Knight King of Daxos, command the gates of the Mecha Vault to open."
The runes on the mechanical throne flashed a series of dazzling lights, followed by his arms and gauntlets, and finally the disk runes on the gate lit up.
With a rumbling sound, the door opened, revealing a wide passage that was wide enough for two knight mechas to pass through.
As the door opened, the lumen lights in the passage were also lit, illuminating the marble passage.
Daxus Glory turned around and came in front of Nimrod, he spoke.
"The Knight Mech Hall of the Vixtrix Family is a place of honor. You can only bring some of your people in."
"it is good."
Nimrod agreed. He took Arsena, Bukayo and Gabriel and followed the Daxus Glory down. The Knight King also only brought four mechas.
The team went down all the way and finally came to an open platform.
As soon as Gabriel walked down the stairs, he was attracted by the circular silver-gray repair rack, which was equipped with a row of green knight mechas.
In the center of the platform, two green mechas were hoisted out via an overhead cableway, and they were obviously the objects of the duel.
The technical sergeant conducted a professional assessment of the two war machines: [Preliminary assessment, the degree of damage to both is medium.
The knight mech on the left has damage to its right arm and left leg, while the one on the right has damage to its left arm and right leg, with similar damage.]
Campbell called out as the Tech Sergeant was looking over.
"Thor."
A telescopic mechanical arm brought a man standing on a repair table to the crowd. Half of his robe was the green color of the Vixtrix family, and the other half was Martian red.
Gabriel looked at the Protector of the Sacred Relics. At a glance, he could see that Thor, who was wearing layers of goggles, had most of his body mechanized.
The Preserver of the Sacred Relics glanced at the visitor and was startled when he saw Nimrod's imposing figure. Thor's logic was incomprehensible as to how a human could possess such a body.
The preserver of the sacred relic adhered to the aristocratic tradition, suppressed his curiosity, and did not use the biochemical prosthetic eye to scan the giant.
He then shifted his gaze to the Techmarine, carefully assessing his opponent.
Campbell opened the cockpit door and said to Nimrod.
"On the way here, I pondered how to fairly evaluate this honor duel."
"We should eliminate subjectivity and evaluate from an absolutely objective perspective."
"Thor has prepared two mechas for the honor duel. Their damage levels are similar."
Ningluo took a quick glance and memorized the details of the two knight mechas in his mind. The weapon systems of their arms were damaged, and the power systems of their legs were damaged.
He nodded slightly in agreement. At least on this point, the other party adhered to the fairness of a knight.
"I want to set three evaluation criteria to objectively assess the results of the fight."
"First is the time it takes to repair the knight mecha. Whoever completes the repair first wins this evaluation indicator."
"After the repairs are completed, the knight mech's continued operating time and the power of its weapon system will be tested by two knight apprentices at the knight training ground."
While the Knight King was speaking, a dozen apprentices of the Holy Relic Preservationist descended from their workstations and listened to everything curiously.
The apprentices relied on translators and speculation to figure out the assessment criteria.
An apprentice whose right arm had been replaced with a mechanical one walked up to the senior apprentice who had mechanical tentacles implanted in his back and asked in the local language of Daxos.
"Jinora, the Protector of the Sacred Relics wants to compete with an outsider. That outsider looks very tall. Can Master Thor win?"
"Idiot, this is about repairing the knight mecha, not fighting."
"Lord Thor is certain to win. Even if that outsider's technical capabilities rival those of the Relic Protector, he won't be as familiar with Knight Mechs as you are. You've spent your entire life here."
The Primarch had completed a preliminary analysis of the Daxos language along the way and understood the conversation between the two apprentices.
But he believed in Gabriel, and he nodded slightly: "Okay."
Seeing that Nimrod had no objection, Campbell accepted his arrangement and felt that victory was beckoning ahead.
"I have prepared a banquet for your arrival. Please follow me."
"it is good."
Everyone left, leaving Gabriel and Thor to start repairing the Knight Mech.
After the lavish banquet, Nimrod took his leave on the pretext of returning to the ship to handle official business.
After returning to the ship, he summoned Tierney to the command throne.
Nimrod selected 250 soldiers with quick reactions, calm minds and excellent psychological qualities from the candidates who failed the transformation and formed a reconnaissance platoon.
Tierney came from the hive city of Naryanmar in the far north of Vostronia. He passed the first fifteen transformation surgeries, but was eliminated because he had a strong rejection reaction during the process of implanting sweat glands to improve his organs.
A moment later, Tierney, wearing a yellow-green military camouflage uniform made by the Vostroya Military Factory, came before the throne.
He knelt on one knee: "King!"
"Get up," Nimrod tapped the back of the chair with his fingers, "I have a task for you."
"Your reconnaissance platoon will infiltrate Daxos and gather intelligence."
"Focus on reconnaissance, intelligence related to attacks by large local wild animals."
"As you command, my Lord."
Tierney received the order and led the reconnaissance platoon on an aircraft, landed on Daxos Alpha, and began reconnaissance.
Just as Gabriel was examining the knight mecha in detail, on the galactic map, the Triken galaxy southeast of Vostroya appeared.
The lord of the Seventh Regiment, "Hunter" Sanchez, swiped his fingers across the data pad.
"The Eldar of the Savage World, it's time to take the bait."
