Warhammer: Black Emperor

Chapter 107: The Ahriman Brothers

Chapter 107: The Ahriman Brothers
Inside the palace of Paragon City, Nimrod looked at the data pad in his hand, and Arsena's report caught his attention.

The Mechanicus' transport fleet was attacked by alien ships, which were fat cylindrical warships, and the auspicious instrument detected high-frequency psychic readings.

The Primarch quickly reviewed the report submitted by the Mechanicus. The alien warship was a ship several thousand meters long. One end of it was bulbous and equipped with a cluster of thrusters; the other end was thinner, forming a short and thick bow.

Its biggest feature is the huge petal-shaped blades extending from the stern, which flash with dazzling light.

After examining the alien spaceship for a few seconds, Ning Lu thought to himself.

[Cylindrical ship, psychic.

Yogal's colony ship?]
He remembered that the Jorgor were a xenos race that attempted to settle within Imperial borders during the Great Crusade.

Shortly before the Battle of Istvan III, a powerful Jorgel fleet was stationed in the Yota Clock system.

Having traced traces of psykers within this force, Malcador sent the Sisters of Silence to support the Death Guard in destroying the Jorgor colonies and ships.

[The alien fleet must be destroyed.]
While Nimrod was thinking, two Astartes wearing gorgeous and exquisite armor walked into the palace.

He looked up and saw that their scarlet armor was engraved with various geometric patterns, and on the left shoulder armor was the curved star pattern of the Thousand Sons Legion's emblem.

Without a reunion with the Gene-Father, the Thousand Sons still do not have the symbol of the School of Branding on their shoulder armor.

The Thousand Sons, standing on the left and holding a crescent staff, were the first to bow.

"Primarch, I am Azek Ahriman, First Captain of the Thousand Sons, reporting to you."

Another Chiko, who looked identical, then spoke.

"Sir, I am Ormuzd Ahriman, Second Captain of the Thousand Sons, and I have been ordered to report to you."

The Thousand Sons Legion has yet to reunite with Magnus and has not adopted unique organizational structures such as the Society. Their current organizational structure still adheres to the provisions of the Military Code.

Nimrod looked at the two twin brothers in front of him, their faces filled with confidence that they possessed powerful abilities.

From the time the Thousand Sons' psychic talents began to manifest in 803, until the death of the first Thousand Son, Yubijant, in 823 due to a mutation in his flesh and blood, the Thousand Sons rejoiced and enjoyed the unique talents bestowed upon them by the Emperor.

They revel in the power surging through their bodies and enjoy the exhilaration of releasing psychic energy.

"Sir, please forgive our tardiness. We have spent a lot of effort educating the people of World 28-3."

enlightenment?

Ningluo narrowed his eyes, probably to collect their knowledge.

The Thousand Sons, like their Gene-Father, thirst for knowledge and understanding.

Azek Ahriman's persistence in this regard is no less than Magnus'.

"That's fine," Nimrod said calmly, in a tone that was neither enthusiastic nor cold. "I'd like to be briefed on the status of the Thousand Sons."

"As you wish."

As the company commander, Azek naturally assumed the responsibility of reporting and began to speak.

"Sir, the Thousand Sons Legion currently has a total of nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine warriors."

Ningluo's black eyes narrowed. The "mutation of flesh and blood" had not yet appeared. The "Thousand Sons" had a scale of tens of thousands of people, which was not beyond his expectation. However, the number of ninety-nine hundred people still made him think of Tzeentch silently.

[If the mutation of flesh and blood is not a genetic defect, then it is the blessing of the "Lord of Change".

Or at least the "Fate Weaver," after targeting Magnus, wove the strings of fate and propelled the power of mutation.]
Thoughts flashed through his mind as he listened to Azek's continued report.

"The 28th Expeditionary Fleet consists of 19 warships..."

After listening to Azek's report, Ningluo's black eyes focused on him.

"I heard you have the ability to predict the future."

Azek was surprised, then filled with pride. His name and abilities had reached the ears of a Primarch. Suppressing his pride and excitement, he spoke in a humble tone.

"My lord, it is indeed so. This is a gift from the Emperor."

"I have a task for you."

Nimrod decided to hand over the problems he encountered to the future chief think tank of the "Thousand Sons", he said to Arsene.

"Send the report on the Mechanicus's encounter with the alien to Azek."

"Yes, my lord."

The Primarch's attendants immediately stepped forward, and the two Thousand Sons turned their attention away from the Primarch and towards the silver-haired Arsena.

They immediately realized that this mortal mastered the secrets of psychic energy, his power to move the immaterial world, and their minds turned to the Primarch's attendants in a critical manner.

[He possesses immense power, even rivaling some of the Thousand Sons.

But they are not as good as the Legion's elite, and far inferior to us.]
After reviewing the information on the data board, Azek spoke confidently to the Primarch.

"Sir, I can lock onto the alien's movement trajectory, it just takes time."

"I'll give you time, go ahead."

After the Ahriman brothers left, Nimrod thought for a moment and then sent a message to Maria Kournikova, summoning her to come.

Three standard hours later, the "assassin" wearing a black hooded tight-fitting suit, carrying a pair of scimitars on her back and two Flao glass blades on her waist arrived under the Nest Tower. She wanted to bypass the guards from the shadows and appear in the palace as she did before.

But as soon as she approached the nest tower and took out her grappling gun, she felt two cold gazes.

Maria turned her head and saw two giants standing at the entrance of the nest tower.

The "assassin" sensed that they had locked onto her, and as long as she moved, she would be attacked mercilessly.

[They are the genetic descendants of the king, and they are different now than they were before.]
Maria wisely gave up her habitual approach and honestly took out her communicator to send a message to the king.

Nimrod received the report that the "assassin" had arrived, and he said to Arsène.

"You will continue to represent me and talk to those selected. As long as they can draw a complete route, they will receive a trade certificate from me."

Without having to pay a price, Nimrod would naturally make full use of his identity as the Primarch to gain benefits.

But measures to ensure their loyalty are still necessary.

A moment later, Maria walked into the palace. This was the first time she met the king since the Primarch returned to the Empire.

"My king, what is your command for me?"

Ningluo threw the prepared data chip to Malena, and the "assassin" stretched out his left hand and accurately caught the chip.

"You arrange your men to infiltrate the target's ship."

"Ten for von Valancius and five for the other targets."

"As you wish."

After receiving the mission, Maria immediately took her leave. The "assassin" was not used to being exposed to the sight of others, and even more unwilling to be exposed to the sight of the eleven Primarch guards.

After nine work cycles, Nimrod received news from Azek Ahriman that he had locked onto the alien ship through divination.

Nimrod decided to set out immediately to destroy the Yoggari colony ship.

He boarded the Void Hunter and ordered the fleet to set sail.
